Used Baiardo Stringing machine | Generations

Yes, the rubber mat will fit. I pulled the foam pad out of mine and replaced with the rubber

Used Baiardo Stringing machine | Generations

depends on number of pulls, and how well they took care of it. I would guess between $3800-$4500 depending on the mentioned factors. That age would be the same timeframe as my older machine. Mine has around 5800 racquets (222000 pulls roughly) and I value mine at $4000.

    Baiardo Tool tray

I cannot tell you the size, But if the nuts are still under the tray liner you can take one out and find a screw about an inch long that will fit. If the nuts are not under the liner then you can use anything you want as long as the nut fits in the hole. They are close to an inch long, but I...

    Tournament Stringing Price Fiasco

My input based on the original post. Yes, some Organizers want a per racquet fee. Not all, but some. The highest I have seen is $5, but I assume there are others requesting more. This should be negotiated before hand, and right or wrong I add it the my fee. If I usually charge $20 and they want...

Help please! Is this Wilson Baiardo a good deal?

Both of mine are still all original. That said, they do not have 12K racquets on them. My original is sitting right around 7K, and my new one is around 3500. My original clamps do have around 10K since I move them from the original machine to the new one when I bought it.

    Old Wilson natural gut

I was had some Babolat natural gut from either late 80s or early 90s (not sure how it was stored all that time) that put in a racquet a few years ago. It strung fine, but it all snapped over night sitting in the racquets.

    Machine Calibration

Pretty much the same as you. I check both Baiardo's monthly, or any time I move one. I leave my primary on all the time, but do not calibrate every time I power off. When I get real busy Jan-May I check twice a month.

What does the "Calibrate" option on the Baiardo machine do? What is the life expectancy of a machine in terms of # of pulls?

I have 2 Baiardo's. My oldest is 8 years old with 7400 racquets, my new one is 2 years old with 3700 racquets. I have never had a problem with either one. Never had a problem all original parts so far. I do keep mine clean and oiled. The L model I had only had around 600 racquets when I sold it.

Using awl to enlarge grommet hole

I will guess that most people use wax (ChapStick). take a tube ChapStick and push your awl into it. That should be all you need.

New machine or stay the course?

I am not promoting either machine over the other. I have never used the Tourna 850, but briefly owned a Tourna 700-es. Everything comes down to what you prefer, and what you consider important. There are too many variables that we do not know to make any informed recommendation to you. We can...

    Do you sell stringing machines?

It has been several years, but when I kept a Gamma Progression ELS at the university, I would rent it out to someone that wanted to string some high school tournaments being held at the university courts, while I was at work. I still have people that come to my house to string. One of the club...

    Strings are Loose - AITA?

Not what I asked. If you take the racquet off the machine and do not hit your referenced tension, do you cut the string out immediately and restring? With all racquets, not just yours? I know numerous people that use the apps and ERT300s, but I have never had one tell me that they continously...

    Strings are Loose - AITA?

Unless I am set up at a tournament, they never see my machines. Unless the coaches change (often) all of the Big 12 and the non-conference that we play often know who I am. I also reach out to every visiting coach before they get here and give them same reference info. I am now curious as to how...

    Strings are Loose - AITA?

First off, Coach Berque is super nice, so is Lipman. Maybe because I am older and bigger than they are. Second, quit using racquet tune. Are you cutting out all of the string when you do not hit your reference? I assume no. Third, how are you keeping up at UT using a 750 ES? The one I had on the...

    Strings are Loose - AITA?

In 15 years, I have never had this happen. I can remember one time a coach asked me how often I check my calibration. During NCAAs one year I had a coach from a school in Tennessee watch me check my calibration one morning. During ITFs I have had people pull out an ERT300 as soon as I handed...

    Upgrading Baiardo L base clamps?

I wanted to upgrade my base clamps as well when I had my L. Due to the cost of the rails and base clamps, I found it more cost effective to sell my L model, take that money plus what I would have spent on the rails and clamps and bought a full model.

    Natural gut stringing issues?

Not sure why you quoted me from another post, that has nothing to do with this post, and made it seem like I am referencing you in some way. I believe everyone on here provides valuable information and can be a resource. I can also see how it would be difficult for some users to wade through all...

This is why I am not on here more often. This is supposed to be a place to ask questions, get advice, or provide answers and help to others. Not air out personal differences or bicker like 5-year-olds. Let the person asking the question decide what is beneficial. It is all part of the learning...

    Racquet String Breakage

Based on the very limited information in the original post, and my experience with other colleges machines that I have had my hands on, your clamps are dirty and to compensate they are over tightened and crushing the string.

Best electric/constant pull for home use (plus starting to string for others)

I have owed 3 of the above and strung on all 4. For the volume you have I would go with the Gamma. It will do a fantastic job, and will allow you to grow in volume, plus saves plenty of money for string and tools you may want to get. Unless you are planning to string a 500 or more frames per...

    Improving College Stringing Process

This is my process. It may or may not work for you. I get off work at 430pm, I drive past the courts on my way home. I supplied racks for the players to put their racquets to be strung in the locker rooms (girls are actually outside the locker room in a common room). Whatever is in there when I...

    Used Gamma Progression II ELS

I probably should not admit this, but the last 2 ELS machines that I sold, I got more than I paid, and they were used. One had over a thousand racquets, and the other had around four or five hundred.
