I have changed my approach to tennis.

I think the OP meant his opponent played like gonzalez in the sense that he also had a very powerful forehand.

Consistency is, and always should be, paramount in any strategy. The average depth of your shots is also important. I'm assuming that you play junior tennis. In general, the opponents you come against at your level are baseline-oriented players. This means that you should employ variety in...

Set against former Touring Pro video

Liked watching this video. It seemed that the overall quality of play improved throughout the video. The very first 30 seconds or minute were painful to watch, with indecisive, weak approaches to net, and several botched volleys. But then, there were a couple good rallies in the middle and end...

Help Me With My Game - Video

Footwork, footwork, footwork. Also work on your consistency and backhand more. Sometimes had solid pace and spin on forehand, but doesn't seem very reliable or consistent. EDIT: Watched more of the video where you hit more backhands than just the very first one that went quite a bit out. The...

    warm up for serve practice

I always start out slowly. For example, in my case, I make sure I stretched properly, I do a couple practice swings of the racket, then start out with some abbreviated slow second serves, then work my way up to full motion / speed second serves, and then I practice my first serves at full speed.

Anyone can give me serve grip tips?

The full eastern backhand grip is exactly one full bevel over from the continental grip. The modified eastern backhand grip - which is easier to use for serving (easier to make clean contact), if you are currently using a continental - is halfway between the full eastern backhand and...

Anyone can give me serve grip tips?

Eastern might be "only" one bevel over from continental, and it doesn't sound like much, but changing my grip for any of the strokes by one bevel is, in my honest opinion, a drastic change. For serving, it makes a pretty big difference once you get used to either one.

...How did I lose that badly...?

In my honest opinion, the reason for this might just be that your opponent is better than you..especially if he is consistently "making shots that seemed to be just ridiculous", you were "basicly (sic) being bullied around", and in addition to his pace, "he didn't miss either." Just my take.

    Toe draggers, save your shoes

Thanks OP. I have always had this problem with wearing out the top part of the toe area..unusually though, in my case, the problem is much worse on my left shoe compared to my right.

    No Respect for Querray

Wow, watched Sam's match against Nadal..MUCH closer than I thought it would be (wasn't expecting a blow-out, but something like 6-3, 6-3, 6-4). Querrey absolutely unleashed his forehand on many points in that match, amazing play against the no. 1 player in my humble opinion.

    Pro Players Drinks Confused?

Exactly. I've seen a pro tennis player sip water from three different bottles. Basically, a lot of it is the advertisement part - product placement.

Doh! My Semi-Western was really Eastern!?

On a two-handed backhand, most commonly, power should come from your left arm.

    My "kick" serve

Try using an eastern backhand grip.

    Nadal Backhand

Nadal is a lefty. If your righty, think of it as your right hand in a continental, and the left hand in western grip. Then reverse it, and thats basically what Nadal uses.

Does the way Roddick serves produce more power? (videos)

Very nice serves. And yes, I'm pretty such that is a topspin serve, whether or not it's an american twist serve, I'm not sure. But there is definitely a lot of topspin/kick on your kick serves. BTW, these videos have amazing quality..especially if you make the videos HD by putting "&fmt=18"...
