Muller: Djokovic looks to have lost his mojo again

It might be true but LOL at some career nobody being the one to say it.

Who's likely to hold the slam record - Serena, Nadal or Djokovic ?

Serena should have waited until getting to 25 to start having babies. If she didnt get pregnant 2 years ago I am sure she would easily have set the record by now and been happily retired.

Who will retire first - Nadal or Djokovic ?

I agree that even if Djokvoic becomes the GOAT to experts through matching/beating 20 slams and all his other numbers which would go along with that at point, which is very possible, he will never have the star power outside of tennis nuts that Federer or even Nadal has. Much like to casual...

Top 15 Greatest Tennis Records of All Time

The clay field in the mid to late 70s was kind of rubbish (the only other decent clay courter was Goolagong with Richey well past her prime), but even considering that, that is an insanely amazing record. As I said even a future super great on clay with another weak clay field, I can not see...

How important should doubles be to evaluating all time greats?

The thing is I would agree with that, except what makes it more complicated is someone like Shriver is in the Hall of Fame, which she would never be for her singles career alone. The Bryans will even likely make it in someday, obviously entirely through doubles. So that aspect is giving a...

Top 15 Greatest Tennis Records of All Time

I think 125 straight wins on clay is one of the only current womens records which indeed will probably never be broken. 24 slams, 9 Wimbledons, 6 straight slams, even the Golden Slam, as impressive as they are, will all likely be atleast matched at some point. Maybe even the 74 straight wins...

How can Thiem ever be YE #1?

It shows how good a kick serve he had since many other players who have a kick serve the higher bounce just makes it sit up to be clobbered there.

The Field against the top 3: Nick's on tops

Murray will always be a debated case. Some will say he was unlucky to play in the era of Big 3 and should be a 5 or 6 slam winner. Others (like me) will say his peak level on faster surfaces (generally his best) isnt that different or better than Hewitt and Roddick who have 2 and 1 slam...

Who's likely to hold the slam record - Serena, Nadal or Djokovic ?

I dont know why people are only focusing on passing the number to set the record. If you even tie you atleast hold a share of the record, so you still hold the record, just along with someone else. In that sense Nadal might need only 3 more, Djokovic might need only 5 more (I say might as...

Will there be a new GS champion in 2019?

I think Thiem has a very good shot, particularly at the French, more outside shot at the U.S Open. Zverev is having a horrible year but if he somehow hits form this summer he has a shot at the U.S Open, especialy if Djokovic is really back in a funk. I assume you mean just men. On the womens...

Without Seles stabbing, do Graf-Seles or Navratilova-Evert combine for more slams (or tied)

Maybe they need to change their model. It has always produced promising players but never ones who evolved into true champions. And unlike in the past the U.S individual cases of producing these champions is no longe happening either. They and U.S tennis as a whole faces a tough situation...

Nadal may retire at end of French Open

I dont think he should be in that case, but to many people he will be. The sport has become very slam centric. And as times goes on, the more other details fade into the dust.

Top 15 Greatest Tennis Records of All Time

Court also won 6 consecutive slams but with a calendar Grand Slam in the middle of that. 1969 U.S Open to Australian Open 1971. She is the only women to ever combine 6 consecutive slams and the Grand Slam.

Who's likely to hold the slam record - Serena, Nadal or Djokovic ?

Serena only needs 1 more to firmly have the record anyway. If she and Court both have 24 you have a player with 24 who has 11 Australian Opens and a player who has a combined 13 Wimbledons/U. S Opens. No contest.

Without Seles stabbing, do Graf-Seles or Navratilova-Evert combine for more slams (or tied)

They do some player develop but not successful really. Like I said Mary Joe Fernandez is basically their biggest ever success I can think of. The once super promising Donald Young is only a prime example of what a flop they are, if anything.

Who's likely to hold the slam record - Serena, Nadal or Djokovic ?

Well Osaka is still hot and cold. If she stays consistent in slams only (she isnt on the regular tour, but that doesnt matter if she always brings it in slams) then I agree it will be a lot harder for Serena. Besides Osaka there is nobody that is that hard to beat.
  19. A

Who's likely to hold the slam record - Serena, Nadal or Djokovic ?

Serena is most likely of course. Djokovic has a decent shot. Nadal has only an outside shot, in part since he not only has to catch/pass Federer but also hold off Djokovic, both which will be hard for him. Serena only has to get in decent shape and hit hot form for a couple slams and she...

Without Seles stabbing, do Graf-Seles or Navratilova-Evert combine for more slams (or tied)

I am sure you are right but I am curious which ones. I suppose China maybe. I know Na Li was brought up mostly by the Chinese tennis fed, and some of their recent rise of good players is through a government sponsored system. Russia maybe, not as sure on them. And quite possibly France.

Without Seles stabbing, do Graf-Seles or Navratilova-Evert combine for more slams (or tied)

One thing I will say is the USTA is useless. Peter Bodo wrote an article in tennis magazine once 20 years ago and it still holds true today, no great American player ever came from the USTA, maybe the odd very good one like Mary Joe Fernandez, and that is it. The great Americans- King...

Future new Wimbledon winners will be some of the weakest ever

For sure, but today youngsters arent even close to the caliber of Nadal and Djokovic either on any surface (except for Nadal indoors if that even counts). Not yet anyway.

Is Berdych better player than Wawrinka game wise?

Federer overpowers Wawrinka with a much harder forehand, equally hard backhand, harder serve, and harder volleys. Del Potro too.

Is Berdych better player than Wawrinka game wise?

Berdych has a much better and more powerful forehand. Wawrinka has a slightly more powerful and much better overall backhand. Overall though with his much harder forehand, harder return of serve, harder serve, Berdych has more power.

Without Seles stabbing, do Graf-Seles or Navratilova-Evert combine for more slams (or tied)

Agassi and Graf say now they didnt enjoy tennis, but I think they had a love-hate relationship with tennis. The pressure from their fathers, countries, and people around them made them hate it in a way, but they could not have competed that hard for so long, and both had comebacks from lows...

Without Seles stabbing, do Graf-Seles or Navratilova-Evert combine for more slams (or tied)

Yes, but I think the biggest key is still a)how much Seles could win in 97-99, b)how much (if at all) Seles could win from 2000 onwards. A new hypothetical that with Seles around, Steffi being more motivated or spacing herself better and having a longer career and winning a few slams in the...

Without Seles stabbing, do Graf-Seles or Navratilova-Evert combine for more slams (or tied)

Interesting. I break it down into segments. 93-96 is the obvious segment. This segment the duo probably combine for a minimum of 14 of the 16 slams. Even as it is they combined for 12 of the 16. So I see them ending this segment with a minimum of 32 slams. The uncertain segments are...

Which of the greats did Wade test the most- King, Court, Evert, Goolagong

I know Wade is 6-40 vs Evert, which I believe is by far her worst head to head. I do not know her exact head to head against the others. I read somewhere her head to head with King is 9-22 which is quite respectable, and might well be her best of the four if that is true, but like a lot of...

Without Seles stabbing, do Graf-Seles or Navratilova-Evert combine for more slams (or tied)

I dont only wonder about Graf and Seles but some others and how they might have been affected, especialy Sanchez and Hingis. I think Hingis probably still wins atleast 3 slams, and she might have in fact been better off not being as dominant right away, and ended up having a better and longer...
