    If Federer reaches the final...

A 31 year old making a final is damn impressive. DAMN IMPRESSIVE.

Will Nadal's accomplishments be better than Sampras when he is done ?

Federer wasn't close to winning multiple majors on each surface? You might want to check history for a second.

Nadal will never be considered one of the all time greats

Anyone who plays tennis would love to win just one major. Winning one is always better than losing one. But when you're talking about all time greats, that sure is a glaring weakness in his resume. Dominated one surface. Sampras and Borg both dominated two surfaces.

Nadal will never be considered one of the all time greats

MORE FRENCH OPENS ONLY FURTHER MAKES THE CASE AGAINST NADAL BEING AN ALL TIME GREAT.

Nadal will never be considered one of the all time greats

Borg absolutely dominated two surfaces. Nadal Didn't. He has a winning H2H, but it's due to his clay prowess, not his elite status on all surfaces.

Andy Roddick turning into a TT member after retirement.

Fine, Nadal is the king Twitizen. Feel better now?

    Federer and Grand Slam Quarterfinals

Cue Fed haters who say it was because the field was so weak. Sadly, they don't see how this "weak field" argument undermines their player in the process.

Could Nadal have won USO 2010 if he had met Juan Martin Del Potro from the 2009 USO?

I guess you're ignoring anything that isn't ra ra ra Nadal. Bolded point clearly proves you're not rationale.

Could Nadal have won USO 2010 if he had met Juan Martin Del Potro from the 2009 USO?

Lleyton Hewitt was playing the best tennis of his career that year. Going into the match, not everyone thought Federer would win. To bagel Hewitt once is amazing, but to double bagel him is insane. It very well could have been a triple bagel had Hewitt not rallied in the second set.

Could Nadal have won USO 2010 if he had met Juan Martin Del Potro from the 2009 USO?

Federer in 2009 was playing better than Nadal in 2010. Nadal just has problems with taller players. Not saying JMDP is a better player, because Nadal is by a country mile. Up until the SF in 2010, Federer was also playing lights out tennis.

Could Nadal have won USO 2010 if he had met Juan Martin Del Potro from the 2009 USO?

You have to use JMDP's match against Nadal, not the final versus Federer. Federer is a fantastic junk baller and Nadal's shots kick up into JMDP's wheel house. While nothing on here is ever apples to apples, using the 09 USO final as you basis is like making an apple to octopus comparison.

Could Nadal have won USO 2010 if he had met Juan Martin Del Potro from the 2009 USO?

JMDP took out Nadal and Federer. Nadal has ALWAYS had an issue with JMDP's height.

Was it unfair for Nadal to have to play in the Federer/Djokovic era?

Look at it this way. Nadal is injured because of his style of play. His style of play is what makes him so hard to beat. For him to overtake Federer, he would have to change his style of play that made him one of the all time greats. For Nadal to take number 1 from Federer he had to redline his...

Was it unfair for Nadal to have to play in the Federer/Djokovic era?

How about in 2008 when he won the AO? Djokovic had no luck against Federer at the 2007 AO, but beat him at the Canada Masters and very well could have won the US Open that year. He had Federer at triple set point in the first but couldn't convert. He might not have been mature, but he was...

Greatest USO player of all time?

Federer lost less sets, games, and played a higher average ranking than Pete did.

Djoker the current benchmark of all round tennis?

The only part of Novak's game that is better than Federer's peak for peak is the backhand. At their peak, Federer's FH, Serve, Volley, and Movement were better than Novak's. I'd say that Defense is more or less equal, but I'd take Federer's since his Movement appears to be less taxing than Novak's.

Federer's Records Against the Big 4 Since 2008

ROSOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL With a name like that, you should be use to this. I'd rather lose to one of the top 4, then some lower ranked player. I mean, wouldn't any logical person want to lose to a better player rather than an inferior one?

Wow, Fed just hit the most amazing return...

    Don't leave out 04. I'd say 04 was better than 07.

Where does Federer stand in the serve?

LMAO. Forum Jester right on cue.

    Consecutive Hardcourt Grand Slam semifinals

They also weren't HC back then. That is why Connor's doesn't have 12 consecutive SF appearances on HC as indicated.

roddick fh 03-04 vs nadal fh 08 vs fed fh 05-06

Federer 05-06. I'm shocked he was able to get on court with his scalpel to perform surgery during those years.

What is more impressive? Sampras and Federer

237 weeks at number 1 isn't reflected in his 5 years at #1. Federer is the choice.

Why is great ballstriking always associated with flat hitting?

Federer was still hitting with gobs of spins, he just uses a flatter trajectory compared to others like Nadal and company.

Fans of Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray - are you happy with your idol's season?

All that Federer did was unexpected and I am quite content with his results. He has exceeded my expectations.

Rafael Nadal: ´This injury will extend my career ´

"When I lost the second Wimbledon final was a “mess”. I did not know if I had another chance, but I had a good tournament and lost to what is arguably the best player in tennis history." Rafa has really become a ******* now a days :)

    Federer match record by year

Has Nadal won 4 major tournaments in 365 days? Federer has. While Nadal's 8 tournaments in a 4 month period was incredible, Federer's 15 losses over 3 years is sort of in another league. I'd bet money that someone would achieve 8 titles in 4 months instead of averaging 5 losses a year for 3 years.
