    Indian Wells - Bad Tournament

I don't know about most of you, but I have a choice of a few different court locations to play tennis. One important factor is : how windy the court is. Court A is always windy and Court B (2 miles away) is usually great. So we always choose to play on court B. Indian Wells is like court A. It's...

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Babolat Pure Drive 2025

The reason why I always play and buy Yonex is due to quality control. All these reviews of racquets dont apply if the one you receive is way different than the one the reviewer is reviewing. Babolat and Wilson are no where near the quality of Yonex. If you are going to review a Wilson or...

How is the manufaacturing consistency with Babolat now ? I've been a Yonex user for the last few years because I know what I getting. I buy an Ezone 100 I know I am getting a 300 gram racquet. In the past i compared Babolat PD100s and was seeing 294 to 304 weights. (And Wilson was even more...

    Optimal string for Speed MP

if you're not really advanced and don't hit with great racquet speed... Forget any poly string. Everyone want to use what the pros use. But what's right for them is wrong for you. Also keep in mind the pros don't keep the poly in their racquets for very long and poly looses tension very quickly...

    Question for the Rules Experts?

You think we need a rule for something that never happened in a real match ? But "it could happen" Not one post here says they have ever seen this happen playing real tennis. Don't forget the original poster was playing half court tennis. We can start a new thread. Why don't we all think of...

    Best Tennis Ball Brand

The survey is not specific enough. Dunlop Australian Open balls, Dunlop ATP. Dunlop Grand Prix. They're all good but they are all different. The Australian Open balls last the longest and play the slowest and become and stay fluffy. My favorite ball depends on who I am playing. I want the...

Ezone 100 vs Ezone 98 vs Vcore 100

you should get the Ezone 100 because of its bigger head than the 98. The only benefit of the vCore over the eZone is for heavy topspin strokes which you do not have.

How large difference between mains and crosses can you use?

in a gut/ poly hybrid, you are mixing the string with the best tension maintenance (gut) with the string with the worst tension maintenance. (poly) Which is fine if you reString often but after a week the gut is going to be way tighter than the poly. Which is why I put gut in the mains and not...

    Ultimate String Weight Thread!

Not all coils of string are 40 feet. some are 37 and some are 42. even though they're marked as 40. Yes string weight has a significant impact on swing weight. I use Volkl Cyclone 19 1.10mm or Solinco Tour bite 19 / 1.10mm to really get the swing weight down. And as with all polys, they loose...

    Any 50 y.o use 12oz+ racquet ?

If you're older and want to try playing with a modern swing you have to go lighter with the racquet to get yourself to use more wrist action. if you're older with older style strokes, (like McEnroe, Connors and Chris Everett) and don't want to change your strokes you can continue to use your...

Is it ok to copy Federer forehand when I'm at 3.5 level?

Why are you stuck on the Eastern grip ? Are you over 40 years old ? Most modern coaches are teaching younger players a semi western grip to advance past level 4. Unless your goal is to just get to 4 and not higher ? Eastern grip is good for people who can not play more than twice a week. Moving...

BRIFFIDI - SW1 Racquet Swingweight Machine

Make sure you strap the racquet in tightly. We were getting different measurements when two different people used the Briffidi. One person was not getting racquets as snug as the other which caused higher SW measurement. Also you can lower the SW of a racquet buy removing some of the bumper guard.

MSRP and MAP are set by the. manufactures. Stores in the USA do not get to decide what their online price is. Your original post aimed at TW or other stores is misguided. Your complaint is valid but should be addressed to Wilson, Babolat, Head etc. ... not the stores as if they have some...

    Best poly at ~45 lbs?

I think certain stiff polys strung over 50 lbs might be hard on peoples arms/wrists. I think any poly at 45 should be ok. I think a list of the stiff poly's that you do not want to string over 50 might be useful.
