    2025 WTA Rome 1000

I am not saying anything about Paolini, but last year, I was like "who is this and where did she all of a sudden come from"..? More interesting would be to compare her stats and playing style from 2023 with 2024 and this year.

it was even just 1-1 in games and 15-0 on her serve...Just play on. Come on actually crying on the court...

LOL. Andreeva crying because the ref decided to play a let as the lights turned on during a point

Ok, just weird to wear a bandana that way for protection of anything. Could understand if it was to keep her hair from her eyes or sweat from dripping on her face. Dunno, just wondering as it kinda looks odd

To protect her hair or scalp:unsure: Or the top of her forehead?

Fonseca will improve of course, but the hype is a bit too much now considering his general level. He looks stunning in a highlight reel, but watching a full game you just notice some very easy errors. Maybe the fast condition in Madrid influenced his level.

Fonseca is an error machine. Saw that against Elmer Møller as well..

it's a joke really...He had a tough match against Baez, but arguably beating Ruud, Khachenov and Alcaraz pretty comfortably. Only first set against Carlos was tight and long. His mother claims he felt the knee before the game and considered withdrawing, but eventually decided to give it a try...

Rune....sigh...You would think he was a 40 year old not 21

Does Rune's win in Barcelona change your list of top contenders for 2025 RG?

Shelton and Cerundolo can beat Rune on clay, but no way are they favourites against him on clay or more likely to beat him or go further at the French Open. Rune even beat Cerundolo in Paris in 2023

2025 Barcelona Open ATP 500 Final - [1] Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (SPN) v/s [6] Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune (DEN)

Alcaraz not running 100% for the ball there, but Holger is really playing well which probably makes you kind of give up if you are not 100%

2025 Barcelona Open ATP 500 Final - [1] Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (SPN) v/s [6] Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune (DEN)

Don't know, he seems to have an issue. Does Alcaraz have a history of tactical MTO? So many players do it anyway at some point, even Rune

2025 Barcelona Open ATP 500 Final - [1] Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (SPN) v/s [6] Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune (DEN)

Alcaraz with huge error gifts Rune the break. But Rune surely played well in that game

2025 Barcelona Open ATP 500 Final - [1] Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (SPN) v/s [6] Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune (DEN)

do not think it is tactical. He is leading in the second set. But probably nothing severe either. Probably just fatigue from all the matches lately, maybe a slight pull

2025 Barcelona Open ATP 500 Final - [1] Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (SPN) v/s [6] Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune (DEN)

I think people forget that Rune is a very good clay court player. Remember him beating Sinner in Monte Carlo with the whole stadium against him and he also humiliated Zverev in Munich some years ago. Would have deserved to already have won a Masters 1000 on clay..

2025 Barcelona Open ATP 500 Final - [1] Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (SPN) v/s [6] Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune (DEN)

Stunning first set by Holger. After first 3 games he was better, so well deserved

2025 Barcelona Open ATP 500 Final - [1] Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (SPN) v/s [6] Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune (DEN)

bullet backhand down the line to set up the forehand winner by Rune. no matter what he has shown high level in this final

2025 Barcelona Open ATP 500 Final - [1] Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (SPN) v/s [6] Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune (DEN)

Holger had good opportunities on the first set point. Just got a little too passive. Should just keep it to Alcaraz' backhand. Backhand to backhand duels, Rune would win most of them, I think

Is Holger Rune the best player in the world right now?

My first post was a clear NO, but the last 2 matches, he looks much closer to the best players compared to his level in Indian Wells(even before the final)..

2025 Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell - ATP 500 Official thread

if Rune can keep his level, it will be a real test for Alcaraz. Rune has the better backhand and it has been on fire the last 2 matches. Even his forehand has looked deeper and more penetrating. But who knows, maybe the Rune against Draper in Indian Wells will show up...

2025 Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell - ATP 500 Official thread

Right, even when Rune has won before(except Paris Masters), some of the times it was still being a bit too passive, not playing deep enough and waiting for opponent to make errors. Against Ruud and Khachanov he was dominating the rallies. Depth on most balls and had just that extra power on his...

2025 Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell - ATP 500 Official thread

Wow, Rune today and yesterday is very close to his best level. Followed him a lot and do not think I have ever seen him time the ball so well. Crazy level, will be a threat at French Open if he keeps up. Let's see tomorrow against Alcaraz or Fils if he can sustain it.

Rune right now against Khachnow is playing almost as good as yesterday against Ruud.

Ruud broken again. Very bad last game, but generally I think Ruud takes more chances today, because Holger is playing at such a high level. Both offensively and defensively. Rarely do I see Holger play at this level.

2025 Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell - ATP 500 Official thread

Rune won the first set and a break up in the second. Ruud got a break back in the first set, but Rune still won it pretty convincingly. Rune seems to hit much harder today than usual, but still keeping errors low. Let see if he can keep up physically. Starting to serve and volley which is not a...
