    Why did this happen?

Yes he is. In fact I played (and lost) to someone like that. They are kryptonite to ever changing, doubting, jittery players like you and me, C. My guy plays fairly elaborately, consistently -- kind like a brainy type -- which I suspect leaves him a lot of energy and focus to reactive very...

    How to play beautiful tennis?

Coincidentally this topic crossed my mind recently and is shaping my direction going forward. "Beautiful tennis" just cannot be any more subjective and arbitrary. Heck even Nadal just came on scene many people called his tennis ugly. Weird FH and boring pusher style. Didn't you guys see? Turned...

    Difficulties utilizing the racket flip

That's similar to my thinking process. There's pro's and con's to each choice. Here's some of my observations. I could do Sinner or Djokovic styles in a well control environment, ie ball machine & backyard. I see all the merits, but it's well controlled. Out at the court with live opponents...

    Why did this happen?

No. But Curious has shown me a FH in a vid in Australia.

    Why did this happen?

So apparently much of my current problem boiled down ... bad timing. I just did an extensive tryout with more and more early timing. OOOHMYGOSH at a certain point I could knock the cover off the ball and the form no longer looked like a monkey lifting weight.:-D This is such a weird...

I like your passion, bro. For your 2hbh, is it like hitting FH with your left hand?

    Difficulties utilizing the racket flip

OP, I'm interested in what you will decide to do. Continue to pursue this new FH or go back to your FH. For a new FH it's possible if we practice and implement it at a slow speed. I find this this topic to be very interesting as I've been going through the same issue. I don't know what...

    Why did this happen?

I can't tell the "fundamentals" from the small important stuff. There's just soo many of these little things that upon getting them your tennis is really improved. That's my observation / experience. I don't know if we rec players will ever get all of them. Even today from practicing in my...

He does have many good videos. I like his relaxing style. He demonstrates problems well and then solutions. He also types captions so we won't miss his meanings. Thoughtful man.

    Why did this happen?

@Curious I don't see any reason why we can't work on multiple things at once. I'll continue to hone in my fh strokes while practicing movements and positioning. :) I'm quite resolved to use 1 FH now. No more Sinner's, Djokovic's style. I think Youtube coaches Tomaz and Tom TPA are great.

It's alright. I'm over my annoyance with you. Just post anything you like with me. I know mental health is important.

    Why did this happen?

@Curious Where you been? It feels like the last 48 hours it was just me, BBP and Draggy chatting :) Although my tennis hasn't seen any progress, I seem to enjoy it a lot more these days. I'm patiently watching instructions from coach Tomaz and coach Tom (TPA). The amount of resources available!!!

    Difficulties utilizing the racket flip

Oh man I have gone through exactly that. It is difficult for me too. Sinner's and Djokovic's styles! Now I'm reverting back to having racket being vertically oriented like you said. I called that Del Potro style, like holding a torch. I don't think we should copy any pro's since what they...

    Why did this happen?

@ballmachineguy so, often time you can't help but blurt out something that put others down, which makes you feel some sort of high? Have you seen a doctor for this? You're kinda strange to me.

Footwork, timing, weight transfer = effortless power

Not knowing people personally we really can't say why people just shrug their shoulders... However, I can speak about those whom I have met and interacted with. I have not met anyone whose sucky tennis is unexplainable. In other words, it always makes sense to me how they suck even though I...

Footwork, timing, weight transfer = effortless power

@socallefty: Self-taught players ignore the lower body, try to mimic the swings of pros and wonder why they can’t generate high RHS, high RPM or high shot tolerance. Advanced players move their feet and preserve a consistent contact point on the majority of their shots unless they are pushed...

    Why did this happen?

At least I got to actually play, do things while you just sit behind the keyboard and say the same craps for years. How you get likes for this is beyond me. o_O I'm very tolerant and could probably chat, interact with anyone, but you really took away all the marbles. Zero, nil, nada...

    Why did this happen?

The Del Potro pix above, is that more or less a backswing? More importantly, for practical purpose of executing a good FH, can it be considered a backswing checkpoint?
  23. user92626

    Why did this happen?

The position shown in Del Potro pix is exactly what Im trying to achieve. Good stuff.
  24. user92626

    Why did this happen?

Thanks Dragy & BBP. You folks are very knowledgeable. I will try to process what you gave. Im thinking Im gonna create 2 or 3 timings to see. Like, 1 pin the backswing to the pre bounce. Another loosely on the bounce. Another as early as possible. :)
  25. user92626

    Why did this happen?

I suppose I'm neither old school nor new school. I'm literally Del Potro school in my FH style. Ie I'm holding the racket head up like a torch. What's a good timing for that? bro. I guess I can try 2, 3 different timings ... The end of the back swing to me is the drop, just before the FH...
  26. user92626

    Why did this happen?

I'm confused. Let's keep it simple: point (which is the back swing) at back fence at bounce, yes or no or maybe or depend?
  27. user92626

    Why did this happen?

Guy got a lot of time to hit FH and BH.
  28. user92626

    Why did this happen?

Definitely. "at the bounce" habit means... your back swing is pretty much done at the time the ball bounces? Look at Nadal with this particular shot. 3:15 Weird thing is most of our recreational shots are slower than pro's but we still let ourselves get late.
  29. user92626

    First unit turn ? (!?)

I don't understand what problem you're facing. Pro's do things very differently because they're capable. We can't. What matters is what are you doing that is ineffective and needing to be corrected.
  30. user92626

    Why did this happen?

I know, right? :) Just do whatever is fun to you. I'm resisting my urge to be conscious with my FH stroke. I'm letting it be and just focusing on setting up a good base. You know what is tough? Somehow get the timing that has your racket at the back swing, lingering for a few milliseconds...
