Most 'Solid' Racquet You've Ever Played With?

    RF97 for sure

Me. Love it. Been messin around with the specs. Right now it's 344g, 330-331 sw, 32.1cm balance. I like it a lot, it's hard playing with other rackets once you get used to it. Great power, great depths, spin is good as well. Swings really fast for it's weight.

My friend brought a demo RF future and I looked at the center mains. It looked like it's a bit more spaced apart than the pro or regular? Can you confirm if this is true or it it just my bad eyesight lol. In regards to my RF Pros, ended up putting the leather grips back on so now it's 346g...

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

Yes I agree, gut/alu rough still the king. I still use it for my main match racket. For my practice racket I'm using gut/hawk rough currently. But curious with M8 since as a full bed it's probably my top 3 strings.

    The gut/poly thread

Just tried Hawk rough as the cross for about 1 week, it feels 90% similar to alu rough but softer and slightly less crisp.

Racquet advice needed for RF97 autograph succession

I used to play with the RF97 and currently using the RF01 pro. I feel initially it is harder to use (took me 4-5 months to get it really dialed in) but now it feels easier to play with than the RF97. I also played with the Speed Pro for quite a while (back and forth with the RF97), it's a really...

Which specs do you prioritize? (Static weight, SW or Balance)

SW and balance. 2 SW pt and 1mm balance can make a difference, I can deal with 3-5g static difference.

Played around with the specs the last few months. Right now I'm playing it at 342g, 329-331 SW, 32cm balance (replaced the leather w/ synthetic). Strung with the usual gut/alu or hawk rough. I think this spec is light enough to make it whippy but still has enough plow and stability. I tried...

    The gut/poly thread

Gut mains = more topsin than gut/multi crosses. As other have mentioned try it yourself back to back. The thought that gut in the mains lack spin is probably due to poor technique. Fed and Novak uses gut mains and still have really high RPMs.

I added another 1g to the buttcap of mine to make the balance 32.2cm.

Agree. This is by far the best OHBH racket I've ever tried. Insanely good and easy.

So So what's your final spec's like? SW, TW, and balance?
  19. S

    Wilson x RF Aug 8, 2024

Try adding some tailweight and make the balance 32cm or lower. Should be whippier.

    Yessir, as mentioned above

I don't have any problems with that, I love playing short crosses and angles with this frame. It goes thru the air so fast, faster than pa98 imo.

So after tinkering with specs for months, I think I found the best one for me thus far. Replaced the leather with RF synthetic grips and played around with different lead placements (different places for each of the 3 that I have). Settled on: 338-339 g static 328 SW - 300 SW (liked the 328...

    The gut/poly thread

My regular tension with gut/alu rough is 59/56, I might try 58/55 next time see how it feels. The tension loss of the alu rough isn't as bad as people make it out to be when it's strung in a hybrid with gut. I rotate 3 rackets with this set up and they last 3-4 weeks before the string break or...

Gut Main Poly Cross People - Which Cross String?

Alu rough is still the best for me. The loss of tension isn't as bad as what people make it out to be when it is hybrided with gut. I rotate 3 rackets with gut/alu rough averaging 6h of play per week (sometimes 8), I can use em for about 3-4 weeks before the stringbed loses control or the string...

I use VS touch/alu rough for my main match rackets but O-Toro/Sync is great on my other rackets.

    RF 01 series

This. I've been trying to figure out how to hit with this racket (RF01 Pro) for the past 3 months with my coach. What Mischko said is true. You need to swing fast, inside out and forward through the ball. Don't wiper the ball up but close the racket face as you hit it (just think Fed). The ball...
