Head Extreme Lite - latest 2019

Interesting comments Tony about the disadvantages of lighter raquets. When I bought the Lite about 3 years ago I tried it on court against the slightly heavier Extreme MP; I think it was the MP - heavier / more substantial). I found the lite much easier at the net. But I am hoping my...

Head Extreme Lite - latest 2019

I have been using the Head Extrmeme Lite XT Graphene 2016 model since that year. I had a several previous years models of this Racquet type. Perhaps a silly question but for anybody who has also used these models, does the latest 2019 model represent any significant technical advance on the...

Shoe - Plantar Faciitis , Full Orthotic

Thanks very much for that very helpful reply - the Barricade boost certainly seem worth investigating. I live in a slightly isolated part of the UK, so it is not easy to find a stockist with a large range of tennis shoes to try; and it is different again to actually play in them for several...

Injuries - Difference between hard, synthet, carpet

Thanks for the comments so far. I read about night splints yesterday for the first time - could well be worth a try. Also on another thread I have been asking about the current model of shoe suitable for orthotics, and providing maximum stability and cushioning. I have been buying old stock of...

Injuries - Difference between hard, synthet, carpet

I have always been prone to knee and heel pain. I have addresses this by using orthotics, cushioning insoles, stretching and physio. Unfortunately my Plantar faciiitis has just returned after several years free. I have been playing more singles than usual (a bit), but I am wondering how much...

Shoe - Plantar Faciitis , Full Orthotic

I know this has been covered in various forms, but some of the posts are quite old - the shoe model may no longer be available. I am prone to Plantar Faciitis (heel pain) and knee problems. I wear a custom made orthotic, so the shoe needs to be fairly wide, and have a high enough heel to...

Next Generation - Head Cruze Pro Shoe ?

Hi, I have worn Head Cruz Pro Tennis shoes for approximately the past 4 years. As the original version was replaced by a later version, I have purchased old stocks of the original from amazon or ****. Unfortunately these stocks seem to have now run out (in the UK). I have suffered knee and...

Head Extreme Lite Graphene - Cracked Throat Issue

It is still fitted with the factory strings - I believe sonic pro edge; I imagine at a mid tension. A good thought though - I am sure an overambitious stringer can cause havoc to a racquet.

Head Extreme Lite Graphene - Cracked Throat Issue

Oh not quite so good - I have realised my model is the latest version - not only is it an Extreme Graphene, is also the XT EXTREME LITE. It doesn't include XT on the frame unfortunately; so is not the version used by the poster above!

Head Extreme Lite Graphene - Cracked Throat Issue

I should also mention that I have not added weight to the Racquet, or modified it in any way (other than an overgrip).

Head Extreme Lite Graphene - Cracked Throat Issue

Thanks for the replies on this , and your help in solving my problem. I have taken some photos, but realise I need a suitable url site to post them on the forum (I don't). However, even on my full screen view its difficult to make any clear sense of the cracking; other than that they are on...

Head Extreme Lite Graphene - Cracked Throat Issue

The Head Extreme Lite Graphene I purchased only approx. 4 - 5 months ago is a starting to show cracking on both sides of the throat. I originally assumed it was just the paint - but I am now not so sure; I think it could be the frame itself. The frame does not show any impact damage. I am not a...

Backhand - rear (left) arm position

That's funny. In a golf instruction book by Jim Mclean he says ignore what golf professionals tell you about there own swing/how to hit a ball; he said when filmed there golf swing / tempo / timing is often completely different to what they describe and feel themselves.

Backhand - rear (left) arm position

That is a very good question - that did occur to me after reading the above post, but I haven't been back since. He could be a two handed backhander? However, I have just watched a top speed tennis youtube clip on the backhand and he is showing a full turn to face the target on completion; but...

Backhand - rear (left) arm position

Thanks for your help. I have sort of come to the same conclusion overnight (UK time) after watching a few of the youtube free coaching clips - the rear hand pushes backwards for balance into contact and beyond on the clips I watched. For me I suspect it also helps me to orientate and make...

Backhand - rear (left) arm position

I am a right handed social level player - not too bad, not too good. I use a one handed backhand. I have recently had some coaching with a new coach to try and improve things a bit; I used a different coach for a while a year or so ago. My original coach said my rear left arm should go...

    MY POLY REVIEWS

Thanks for that information - you seem completely sold on Big Ace. Part of the reason I have asked the question, is because here in the UK Big Ace does not seem like a standard string offered when buying new racquets, and I am assuming it is not widely used (?) This could be complete rubbish, as...

    MY POLY REVIEWS

Thanks for your thoughts on Revolution - much appreciated. Could I ask, do you think your no 1 string Big Ace is more or less comfortable on the arm/elbow compared to Revolution? I am concerned about injury problems, obviously. Revoultion is the only string on your list that I have used, so...

Prince Warrior T and L - not much on here

I can find very little on here about the Prince Warrior T and L - actually nothing about the L. I have trialled the T 100 P, and found it very under powered for my liking - so perhaps I nee a very light racquet after-all. I am a fairly senior player! A bit concerned about ordering the heavier...

    Prince Tour 100 16x18 - Good Strings

Thanks for the replies on this so far. Under powered on the serve (?) This racquet weighs 310g 10.9ox unstrung - but is still good for arm comfort? Seems a slight contradiction, but everyone seems to say the same thing. It sounds very different to the Head racquet I have been using, that's...

    Prince Tour 100 16x18 - Good Strings

I am sure this has been asked before but does anybody have a favourite string / weight for the 2014 Prince Tour 100 16x18? I am looking for the middle ground between speed, control and comfort (and durability) - a joe average so to speak. Thanks for any help; I have just run out of time today...

Prince Textreme Tour 100P Racquet - ARM COMFORT

I have just tried the Textreme Tour 100 P; with Prince Attack multifilament at 55lbs. Unfortunately it felt fairly 'dead' to me; hard to generate speed, power and spin. It also felt quite stiff - not what I need for my elbow and shoulder. I was surprised - the TW review on this racquet rates...
