The Shape Of Things To Come: Denis Shapovalov!

As much as I enjoy Denis' game, and his passion for, and commitment to what he does, I wonder if he really has what it takes to be in the upper echelons of the game. Of course, I think the answer won't be known for a few years yet, but I do wonder. At 20 years old, he's the only player of his...

The Shape Of Things To Come: Denis Shapovalov!

Wow, he just can't cut a break. Winston-Salem and his most recent 250 SF were his best chances for a final. He won't get another one this year. At best here, he'll get to round two. That must be really depressing for him. He'll end the year lower than where he began. A learning experience, indeed.

Women's tennis is becoming infinitely better than the men's game

The men's game has been predictable for over two decades. Still is, The big 3 continue to dominate and until they retire they will continue to do so. The women's game, however, is seeing very exciting new champions all the time - Bianca Andreescu, Naomi Osaka, Ash Barty, Karolina Pliskova...

2019 China Open (Beijing) - ATP 500 Thread

Actually, I think Felix played very poorly. He basically only held his serve a couple of times. Far too many shots going way out and just not being patient enough on the court. He's been struggling since Toronto, and only won a couple of matches. I wonder if he's just tired at this point?

Yes, thanks, I've already done this. I keep receiving the same message over and over that they have received the request. They never resolve the problem.

    The new Murray?

It's always surprising to me to read these posts about Murray. The problem is, people here seem to have no knowledge of anatomy, or they choose to ignore it. When a person has had as much damage to their body as Murray has, there will be an enormous amount of scar tissue. Even though he's able...

    Frustration with Tennis TV

I had a long-time subscription but shut it down this summer as I was streaming all the matches. But now I want to renew it and their system won't let me. I have emailed with support almost a dozen times with no resolution. Does anyone know a way to call them? Is there someone I can speak with...

According to ATP site Tessa and the colonel are still listed as coaches. I hope the colonel returns soon, as Denis seems to do better when he's around.

The Shape Of Things To Come: Denis Shapovalov!

I stand corrected. Thank you for that info. And, yes, I would love to see that too. Is this relevant? Players born between [1996-2000] and their age at the time of reaching their first ATP Final : Taylor Fritz (18 years 3 mons 11 days) Felix Auger Aliassime (18 years 6 mons 10 days) Alex De...

The Shape Of Things To Come: Denis Shapovalov!

He defeated Kecmanovic last time. But, that is a tough draw. SF might not work out for him, but I hope it does. That's a lot of points to lose, and he'll fall back down in the rankings again.

The Shape Of Things To Come: Denis Shapovalov!

At the same age, Federer had achieved no more. His very first final was remarkably the Wimbledon singles, which he won. But, the year before he'd lost in R1. It was in 2003 that he made his breakthrough at almost age 23 (he was just shy of his birthday). So, until a few years pass and Shapovalov...

    Chengdu Open 250

Too bad for Denis today. Didn't see the match, but I'm beginning to think he has a mental block about going into a final for some reason. Needs a sports psychologist? Still, he's won 8 of 10 matches which is a good turnaround.
