Is there a way to practice forehand stroke alone?

You certainly can, but it will require your intelligence in extrapolating. You may need something like a baseball net cage which can catch all your balls. 1) You can figure out the fundamentals. Then, do slow shadow swings. Then very fast swings, recorded on video and playback to verify if the...

    Doubles strategies

I play with a lot of weaker players. It's a delicate situation but not hopeless. Even if your team is slightly weaker, you still can win by having successfully worked out a plan between you and your partner. By successfully, I mean you and your weaker partner have to agree on, be on the same...

What are some of the weirdest, strangest attitudes that you've seen?

I have no problems if people can't get together due to different paths, agenda and the agenda are consistent and legit. For instance, I know this older guy at the court who doesn't play sets. He only prefers rallying. He consistently follows that agenda and seems sincere. I join him when I can...

What are some of the weirdest, strangest attitudes that you've seen?

For the uninitiated, it might look weird but I assure you that it's quite fun and certainly something to open a new can that way. I've done it once but several other players do it cuz it's fun and special and nothing against opponents. :)

Vid of two guys at a rec tournament, guess their level

You don't know what I was referring to. I'm not talking about that level of consciousness. I'm talking about players who seem forever conscious about every little thing instead of the fundamentals. Like the wrist angle, spacing on every shot. They can't shake it off in a match. Good...

Vid of two guys at a rec tournament, guess their level

You lost to the two in the first post? haha :) I think I have an idea of a player you are and I have seen a few. You're a fancy and very form conscious player, so much so that you can't play well in a match. Am I right? :) The maxwell/tim guys are a different story. They are real, hardcore...

What are some of the weirdest, strangest attitudes that you've seen?

Yeah but the time in between you rather played dubs and beat up geriatric folks than step up to a more intense singles, if you're really that guy. LOL.

What are some of the weirdest, strangest attitudes that you've seen?

Who won that one? I usually don't care about handshakes because I am still around and play more with more or less same folks. Handshakes mean we're done.

What are some of the weirdest, strangest attitudes that you've seen?

Wow...that is bizarre. Were you very annoying in your comeback that he couldn't take it anymore? :) Frankly I tried to conduct my tennis as friendly as possible. I even highfived my winning opponent during the set to assure him that everything was in good spirit. He was somewhat nervous (but I...

What are some of the weirdest, strangest attitudes that you've seen?

In doubles and especially when it comes to single matches? Some of my latest is I lost a singles match 4 weeks ago but as of today it appears that the winner has become afraid of a rematch. He kept saying no and giving excuses. I have asked/reminded* him twice cuz he kept saying "next week". I...

Normal for winner to get fresh can of balls from loser?

A league I played in has this rule, but I never thought of having two cans open. Probably wouldn't have flied with other members as I suspect many people are cheap. These days I play on weekend mornings. Majority are cheap and wouldn't open a new can but I do know they prefer new balls. I'm...

Science explains why you look bad on video

This cognitive dissonance, probably the biggest factor and root cause is...it's 1 million times easier to imagine things than to do them. It costs you nothing, and very easy, to imagine that you serve like Federer. Keep building up that image in your head and one day you'll be surprised how...

Tilt Shoulders or Turn for Serve Power?

Good stuff. I think you're on the right track. Our human brains can only process one direction at a time, and the serve has more than one -- up, forward, rotate. It's pretty much the up and forward motion which can gel together as one direction is the one that you should focus on.

    Practice serve this way?

You're full of craps and you don't know when to stop. LOL. What makes you think my posting or any of this is all about you? You really think much of yourself, huh? Re the video I have as much interest in posting one as I do in having a root canal. I think it's ridiculous and pointless, nothing...

Science explains why you look bad on video

Interesting. So if a person is confident and feels good about themselves, it always results in a bad experience when actually looking at themselves objectively? I guess the opposite would hold true. If you feel extremely crappy about yourself, then any actual images would look better to you.

Omg. Where's the dislike button when I need it. Dislike dislike dislike lol What's wrong with Djokovic's explanation of the wrist n extension? It's 2019 and you still can't convince anyone of your serve understandings, let alone the action.

    Practice serve this way?

Right on! I didn't understand the wrist action years ago. To make it even more difficult, i got the waiter tray issue which heavily employs the wrist. Years were wasted. Everything is clear now.

    Practice serve this way?

Curious, I do understand you. You erroneously think extending the arm is mutually exclusive to the ISR, ie you can only do one. You demo'ed them two separetely (albeit in the wrong way. Jolly asked why you couldn't do both. You can do both simultaneously. Extending and pronating/ISR. I also...

    Practice serve this way?

Almost everyone at my courts, regardless of age, thinks he's a version of Federer or Nadal, and sometimes both. You know, FH rpm of Nadals and elegant movement of Fed. But OK, do your best.

Ok, show me your serve that's on par with Federer or Sampras. If I see it, I'll be the first person to praise you. :)

    Practice serve this way?

I HAVE tried it and much more. How do you suppose I got all my knowledge to talk with you? To make many definitive assertions? :) by the way, try what I suggested. Do the same swing that you do at 2:31 with your arm gradually straightening in the process. You can do it. The swing at 2:40 is...
  25. user92626

    Practice serve this way?

@Curious btw, if your swing is like the ones done at 2:50 in your clip, it's still incorrect and not reaching its pull power potential :) This is a hard one for you to figure out :)
  26. user92626

    Practice serve this way?

I like your spirit where you came up with all the crazy ideas. As I've said, you CAN serve with a bent elbow or a straight elbow, but you won't be able to find a decent pro who serves with a bent arm. It's at least sub-optimal regarding the contact point's height. That's why you won't find one...
  27. user92626

    Practice serve this way?

alright I saw your clip. You know, you CAN do your swing (at 2:31) with a FULLY EXTENDED ARM. You don't have to keep a bent elbow. A benefit of a fully extended arm is a higher reach which you figured out the low toss limit with a bent elbow arm. In short a fully extended arm and the isr or...

    Practice serve this way?

I know about the serve but i m not sure what you mean re your understanding. About your #1, #2, its probably just style regarding bent elbow vs straight arm. Luka above smash the heck out of the ball with a bent elbow. But Federer straightens it out As for power, who knows how much...
