Mighty Sensor Tensioner Assembly or How I Almost Made a Boat Anchor (for the boat I do not have)

Hahaha, I felt like reading Clive Cussler. You could easily write an action-packed adventure novel on a rogue Babolat stinging machine. I'll be the first one to buy :)

    Head Gravity

Appreciate your feedback. Really helps as I'm considering getting the Blade myself just to compare with my GPro. What stood out for me was "equal plow" and "equal stability". The rest can be fixed I think if the Blade is strung lower as it's smaller-sized.

    Why aren't you using Volkl?

I practically live at the net :) Only time I would stay longer at the baseline is when I'm just hitting. But on dubs I hardly stay at the baseline. And I don't rush to the net. I come in slow and easy just a couple of steps at a time. So I'm always prepared and used to hitting from just...

    Why aren't you using Volkl?

I have been using the C10 Pro for more than two years now and I've never noticed any issue with the bumper guard. What do you mean by it not coming "down far enough"?

    2019 Wilson Blade

Cool. Talking about optical illusion when I am stringing a racquet I notice that I see lines differently when I view the strings from different positions/angles. Especially with crosses in place when I eye them from the left I would see the strings bowed upwards (towards the head). So I would...

Desperately Seeking Comfort, Precision, Power and Stability

Gravity Pro is still too light for me so I customized it to where I wanted it to be - like my C10 Pro. My grip is 4 3/8 so I got a 4 1/4, installed a shrink sleeve, added 4g at 11 and 1 getting it to 12.8 oz with a 9 pts HL balance. I think you should initially resist the temptation of...

    Head Gravity

This is indeed a tough one to call. Feels to me that there are more things at play here. There's the adjustment to the new racquet. Different balance, SW, flex, feel can all contribute to or affect timing/rhythm, RHS, footwork, etc. They're subtle but they can manifest in different ways. I...

Compare POGOS vs Prince Classic Graphite 107

Yes you're totally right it's 13+ oz :) It is much stiffer feeling than the C10 Pro. But yeah supremely solid, stable, and good control (16x20). I only have one so I don't use it for matches as I might start to like it more again and I can't play matches with only one racquet.

Compare POGOS vs Prince Classic Graphite 107

My sentiments exactly. When I'm late I have never blamed the racquet. Unless I'm wielding a sledgehammer, no racquet that I have played have been heavy enough to affect my net game. I have the C10 Pro, POG 107, PK Ki 5 PSE, Big Bubba 137 (412 SW). They've never given me issues at the net...

Volkl C10 Pro users - talk to me!

I would like to qualify my previous post re syngut :) When I mentioned string movement I was referring solely from my experience. As I have mentioned, I have a very "spinny" game style. When I tried stringing my 98 sq. in. racquets with syngut at 60 or 62 it only took me the first two...

Compare POGOS vs Prince Classic Graphite 107

I've played with the old and new. The older plays softer than the re-release. Solid, good heft. But a bit stiffer than my elbow cares about.

Volkl C10 Pro users - talk to me!

It is 16x19 but spacing is closer in the middle so it has better control than the other more "open" 16x19's. But yes it does have tons of power. If your grip is continental to eastern and as a consequence hit flatter shots then a tighter stringbed is needed to rein in the power. My grip is...

    Head Gravity

I suggest restringing to your preferred string specs and evaluate from there. It would not be an objective assessment of the racquet otherwise. I find strings can make or break a racquet.

Volkl C10 Pro users - talk to me!

I string my C10's with poly/syngut hybrid generally at 48/50. Sometimes I'd go up by at most 2 lbs or down 2 lbs. Depends on strings or how I play at a particular period of time. For now I string using Sergetti which I find so much friendlier to my elbow.

    Head Gravity

I see what you mean. You've just been spoiled by the PA too much. From time to time I get to hit with a friend's PA and am amazed at how easy it is to get the ball going. I used to play with the 1st and 2nd gen PA for several years. But it eventually messed up my elbow. I get it. So did...

    Volkl advisory thread.

I have the 2018 C10 Pro. It's weighted up (4g) at 10 and 2 to increase SW. It's got power, plow and comfort.

    Head Gravity

Demanding in what way? I use the GPro and except for the fact that it's much lighter than my primary stick the Volkl C10 Pro the racquet seem quite user-friendly to me.

Wow it's really quiet here on the GPro front compared to the V7 Blade. Does more noise mean the Blade is a better racquet? C'mon guys let's make some noise here too :)

New stringer struggling with maintaining tension with poly knots on tie off

You don't have to exert grip pressure with the starting clamp when you pull. But pliers should do if you if you don't have a starting clamp. It's just a matter of convenience.

Yonex 97HD vs Head Gravity Pro vs Wilson Blade v7 18x20

Gravity Pro lacks control? Maybe we're exaggerating here a bit? I wouldn't dispute your preference for the Blade or the HD but to declare the Gravity Pro lacking in control seems to be a bit extreme to me :) Edit: But having said that, I still would love to be able to have the opportunity to...

    2019 Wilson Blade

Damn, I don't understand why I keep coming back to this thread when I really don't have any issues playing with my C10 Pro's. And if I miss an 18x20 I still have the Gravity Pro. Then there's the Prince Phantom 93P. What's wrong with me.

    2019 Wilson Blade

I got a chance to try a friend's Blade 16x19 with CV when we met at the club just to get acquainted with the Blade racquet. I thought it was an ok racquet. The transition was seamless but after a few minutes of hitting my friend commented that the ball came over with much less plow compared to...

Volkl C10 Pro variation in racquet length

But you just said that the unstrung one was still shorter. So that couldn't be the strings and tension. It could be true with the other two strung ones though. But the real test would be to measure all of them unstrung. I once got a pair of POG 107's here brand new (about a year ago). Both...
