    Anyone else using old racquets

PS 6.0 95, as my "go to" sticks, and some flirtation with the 85 sq.i. version Slazenger Pro Braided as a solid backup, with some lead added PS n-6.1 18x20 for fun doubles, if the conditions are ok Dunlop AG 300 and 300 Tour, both weighted up, if I'm feeling lazy and I need something a bit more...

    Sampras tweener?

Never saw him do a tweener, only a couple of behind the back shots, like this one: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Wilson has resurrected the K Six One 95 (18x20) from the grave!

Wilson should bring back a proper boxed beam heavy pro staff, like the old 6.0 95 - in fact, they should bring back both 6.0's 85 and 95

    Cheapest Pro Racket

I don't know his name, I would say that top doubles player who uses Decathlon's Artengo racquets. You cannot go cheaper than that

Which modern racquets do you think will be future classics down the road?

Wilson KPS 88. And yes, I bought one with that idea in my mind

Great new Becker interview: "Pete had the greatest serve of all time"

claiming Ivanisevic was a better server than Sampras, that's one I never understand. He served faster, and hit more aces, but double faulted a lot, and it's a big a lot. His variety wasn't very good too, basically choose a corner and go for it I would compare his serve to Rusedski's, has both...

Great new Becker interview: "Pete had the greatest serve of all time"

Sampras could serve with huge power whenever he wanted or needed to. Power wasn't his priority, but the guy had both 1st and 2nd. serves clocked over 140 mph, that's over 225 kmh. His average was a bit lower, but at least in my book, power isn't the main thing that defines a great serve. Sam...

Great new Becker interview: "Pete had the greatest serve of all time"

I never said he did it constantly, or 135 was his average serve speed. He did it when he felt he needed to, and it was more than once in an entire tournament.

Great new Becker interview: "Pete had the greatest serve of all time"

Not even close. Karlovic has a big first flat serve because he is that tall, so he has a serve has a good has many tall guys on the tour. Would you put Isner or Opelka serves on the same level of Sampras ? Yes, he serves faster that Sampras did in his days, but speed is not the only thing that...

    Classic racquet recommendations?

There aren't to many 85-90 sq.i. classic frames out there KPS is an option, but it's a completely different animal, compared to the PS 85. It's a log of a racquet, even balanced, and way stiffer. My two cents would be PS 90 (most people say the K 90 is the best option, and the last generations...

Which Donnay model did Sampras use?

I don't have a clue, I'm not a Donnay racquets expert, or a Sampras freak., so this is all the information I can give you
  16. A

Do you have extra bumper and grommets for your frames?

I stashed extra sets of grommets/bumpers for my racquets since they are out of production for a long time (Pro Staff 6.0 95), and spare parts for these are very rare and too expensive. I had to import them from US (I'm from Portugal), that cost me a lot in shipping fees, but I have no regrets...

Which Donnay model did Sampras use?

well, it's 1988 footage, and there's no real close ups from Sampras racquet. There's not even the Donnay logo on the strings, only a massive "VS" logo This is the best I can do, showing the buttcap "D" logo on Sampras racquet, hope this works for you

Which Donnay model did Sampras use?

Is video ok ? Just watch this old doubles match, Sampras is playing with that Donnay PC1, along with a very young Chang vs the McEnroe brothers. At some point it is confirmed his racquet model and if I remember well, even his string tension. Edit: @ 11:05 - Donnay PC1, strung @ 64 lbs <iframe...

RIP to one of my 6.0 95's

It was on warmup, the guy I was hitting with was overhitting, his shots were sailing out a lot and I was getting a bit annoyed with that, so I cracked a big forehand drive volley at one of those, and it happened. The last one I cracked was also on a misshit forehand, returning a 1st. serve. I...

RIP to one of my 6.0 95's

I'm a thin beam fan, and those usually are stiff sticks. Cannot play with those. I have a couple of 98's I like, Dunlop AG 300, but that's it. Very cool racquets by the way Enviado do meu Redmi 4X através do Tapatalk

RIP to one of my 6.0 95's

Well, I simply don't pop strings, I hit mostly flat, and/or low top spin, and my strings are hard to pop - msv focus hex 1.23, 27 kg. I usually cut them once they loose tension or feeling, that takes about two monts. Anyway, I'll get over it. Enviado do meu Redmi 4X através do Tapatalk

RIP to one of my 6.0 95's

Bad day day at the office today, I cracked one of my beloved 6.0 95's. I'm very very sad, it's the third one that ends like this in my hands, at least it was the proper way to do it, bad misshit during warmup, not in a Safin like tamtrum. At least I have some more to replace it, hope I can save...

    Federer pro stock Ncode

stock K 90's grommets don't fit stock N-90, this I can assure you. Both Tour 90 and N-90 share the same mold, so their spares are interchangeable. From K-90 ahead the mold changed in some way, and spares no longer fit. Don't know nothing about pro stock 90's And, by the way, your link doesn't...

Why do you play 18x20? Trade-offs compared to 16x18 ?

I like 18x20's on bigger head sized racquets. My go to racquets are 95 sq.i., on 98's and above I like the improved control of a 18x20, specially on volleying. I tend to have better feeling with open string pattern racquets, so it's hard for me to find touch angles with a close string pattern...
