Which do you prefer? PS 6.0 85 or PS 6.0 95?

I like 6.0 95 better than 6.0 85. Certainly 6.0 85 is a great stick especially in the department of serve and volley but for a ground stroker like me, its small sweet spot doesn't reward so much, if not punish. With slightly modified 6.0 95, I can do everything I want from the baseline. Also, my...

    Wilson Prostaff Tour 95

In comparision with 6.0 95, PS Tour 95 has (1) a smaller sweet spot (not tiny but not large enough) (2) more pop and power (3) less stability (4) similar spin potentials and (5) is much better in serve department. With lead taping, I think, PS Tour 95 is a pretty good stick at a decent price...

    Catapult 6 vs. Catapult 7

I'm searching for a stick for my wife who is a developing 2.5 to 3.0 player with modest forehands and serves. She's currently using RDX 500 MP and says it is a bit too hefty after an hour. So, we're considering Cata 6 and 7 for her backup. Which one is better do you think in terms of power...

    Question about swingweight.

No, not necessarily. High swing weight with lower static weight = More power than stability Low swing weight with higher static weight = More stability than power

    6.0 85 vs. 6.0 95?

--> Racquets that have higher swing weight than their static weight while the balance is head light. For example, PS Tour 95, Slazenger Pro Braided Henman, Pure Drive Team +. --> Good News: These sticks generate more power and are easy to serve with. --> Bad News: Less stable and generally...

Which midsize has the largest sweet spot?

I've playtested the legendary Max 200G today. Wow, what a fantastic stick! The sweetspot was so so large even though the head size is only 80sq. I could hit ever solidest & heaviest balls on the baseline. I guess that's because the sweetspot is large with small head size. Which racquet do you...

New Racquet: Dunlop Maxply John McEnore

IMO, the weight of 320g with even balance (with higher swing weight?) seems significantly different from that of 300G or MFil 300, although head size, beam width and string pattern are almost same. If it is a painted 300G just with leather grip, the balance should be more head light.

Head Radicals (recent versions) how they compare?

I have played with all three radical MPs. (DK about OS). 1. LM Rad. MP : moderately soft, decent spin and power 2. Ti Rad MP: soft but too light 3. I Rad MP: stiff, low spin potential

    PS 6.0 95 vs. RDX 500MP

RDX 500 MP: better at the baseline rather than at the net PS 6.0 95: all court players racquet PS 6.0 will suit better for you. Why not try RDX 500 Mid instead of MP?

Sharapova - Serena live discussion thread

Great match i.e., the third set! With such a strenuous spirit, Serena broke her jinx spell away against an arrogant girl. Nice to see it. Breakpoint, do you only observe Maria? She is mediagenic, espngenic but, I think, disguised.

    Tennis elbow and elbow strap

I have used a tight elbow strap, but it stiffened muscles around my elbow. If your TE is acute, acupuncture and vacuum cups will help a lot. Also, temporary change of your play style helps. TE is more closely related with backhand strokes (1HBH) and serves than forehand strokes, because your arm...

*Power rating categories of player rackets

ferrari, thanks for making a good data set. I did some statistical analysis and found that there is no meaningful relationship between power and control; power and control are neither mutually exclusive nor incompatible. Power racquets can be control racquets at the same time, and vice versa...

    Slazenger: Wilson copier?

Why does Slazenger imitate Wilson? The specs of Pro X1 are enough to remind me of 6.0 95. Pro Braided seems a lighter version of 6.1 Classic. Marketing strategy or lack of creativity? BTW, is Slazenger affiliated with Dunlop? Is it true? Then, they may be a safeguard against Wilson in...

Part 2: Playing with lead on my PD

    Dunlop, Head or Yonex

I have played with all those racquets except RDX 300. Instead, I have tried RDX 500 mp. My preference is LM Rad. > RDX 500 = 300G (with lead taping) > I Rad. in all aspects of playability. Concering solely elbow friendliness, however, I rate 300G > RDX 500 > LM Rad > I Rad. When judging...

    Which Racquet Weight?

To mela I think so. When I judge the weight, my rule of thumb is to calculate the average of static weight and swing weight. Your previous racquet's average will be about 320g strung. LM radical MP's average is about 322g strung (=318g+325g/2). They're almost same!

    Which Racquet Weight?

Don't forget the swing weight!!! IMO, static weight doesn't have much meaning without simultaneously considering swing weight together. In terms of weight, weak 3.0 players can handle 6.0 95 (346g /SW 318g) without big difficulty, but they are much more likely to have difficulty with nSix-One...

    lm radical: my review

Moosryan, you got into the point here! *Swing weight (325g) > Static weight (318g) --> More power *Moderate head light balance plus closed pattern --> More control Generally, powerful racquets have swing weights over 325g. Extreme head light with a smaller swing weight makes racquets a...
