    Head Velocity

My point wasn't how to start the crosses (I mentioned I could use a starting clamp or use a Bulky Starting Knot in post # 2767) but rather the Head Velocity is the slickest multi I have used in ten years of stringing. I own two starting clamps (Alpha and Gamma) and use them for more than start...

Volkl Cyclone 16 mains, Isospeed Cream 16 crosses

More IMO. I have a dozen plus 4.0 and 4.5 guys who have been using it from a year to more than three years

Volkl Cyclone 16 mains, Isospeed Cream 16 crosses

@Bucko Give Cyclone Tour 1.30mm a try instead of Cyclone. VCT has a higher launch angle than VC and it is softer. Suggest dropping tension in your crosses by 2-4 lbs from the mains.

    Full Poly stringing: 17g or 16g ?

It depends on the string also. I wouldn't give you $2 for a reel of 1.25mm Volkl Cyclone Tour (VCT) as it is awful and clients would complain "my strings are moving around in less than 5 hours." I warned a friend not to buy VCT 1.25mm but he didn't listen to me, bought a reel of it, then...

    Most comfortable poly?

But only purchase in 1.30mm. Starting my 6th year using VCT 1.30 now. I string more 4.5 guys with VCT 1.30mm than any other string I carry.

    Most comfortable poly?

If a rubber band and a poly string could mate, Isospeed Cream would be the outcome. Definitely the softest of all "polys" but it seems like "half poly/half rubber" when I string it. FYI a USTA 4.5 client with TE snapped it in crosses in less than two hours in two frames with Head Hawk 1.25mm...

Volkl Cyclone 16 mains, Isospeed Cream 16 crosses

If your elbow doesn't like poly, stop using it. Period. Unsure if you have TE or simply trying to avoid it as you know you have a tendency to get TE. ??? Have you considered the stiffness (RA) of your frame as a factor in your elbow issues? A lightweight, high RA (stiff) frame with a...

@PistolPete23 Thank you for your post. I appreciate reading your words and hope they will inspire others to donate frames/ clean shoes & clothing to those kids out there who could use and would greatly appreciate our "closet" racquets. The Pure Aero + frames I use were bought used from other...

    Head Velocity

1.30mm Velocity as a cross has pulled through the grommet using YuLitle starting knot (double loop) on several frames on my Alpha Ghost machine. I string a lot of frames and have never witnessed this with any other string. The starting knot literally "unties" itself and the string is pulled...

No worries Mike. I could have gone with "Negative Creep" but couldn't find anything other than Radiohead's Classic " Creep " and didn't post it cause I knew it would be hard to follow up. Head Velocity

@Rabbit @ByeByePoly @Traffic Any of you notice how slick Velocity is with starting knots or tie off knots? This is the only string I must use a bulky starting knot as a standard starting knot will not hold when starting Velocity. Thanks much @YULitle Your videos have been incredibly helpful!

Thanks @Fairhit I've been incredibly fortunate in life. Grew up with an violent alcoholic father , had reduced price lunch at school as my mom didn't make enough to support our family. Found a way to college, graduated from a school in the current College Football Playoff Top 6 teams debt free...

I will own these for less than 12 hours. Arrived today, strung within a few hours of UPS dropping them off. Donating to a low-income couple with two kids who have some terribly old beat-up frames that were probably about $19 at Walmart twenty years ago. Babolat Origin 1.30 57M / Head Velocity...

what are the top low powered multi?

Aren't Kelvar strings considered to be their own unique category? Multifilaments are generally made of nylon, whereas Kelvar is made solely of aramid fibers. But yes, I see your point. Multi aramid fibers = "multi" filaments. https://www.tennis-warehouse.com/LC/StringReference.html

Going back to the post from Ronaldo with Renegade since Negative Creep just came off the hip without doing what the OP asked. Love Nirvana, but "Nega" is four characters from the word "Renegade". And for crying out loud could I get a song with "Ride" or "Home" in it. :) All Time Low: Last...

what are the top low powered multi?

Have reels of Prince Premiere Control (PPC) in 1.30,1.35 and 1.40mm, 50+ packs of Tecnifibre HDX Tour (1.30 and 1.35mm), and reels of Head Velocity 1.30mm, and Head FXP 1.30mm all on hand. Velocity 1.30 mm is definitely the most slippery of all the multis (at least until the coating wears off)...

Ball Pocketing similar to Wilson NXT but longer lasting and cheaper

ron shaap, I did not mention anything "asking for other people. " What are you rambling on about? I replied to the OP's post with a valid answer. That answer stands as HDX Tour is similar to NXT but it lasts longer due to the poly fibers embedded. Two other strings which come to mind...

Ball Pocketing similar to Wilson NXT but longer lasting and cheaper

I don't use HDX tour in either a full bed or a hybrid but I string for four guys who don't like full poly and they like HDX Tour over NXT / Velocity / PPC / X1 / NRG as their cross. The fact I can get it in 1.35mm vs 1.3mm for NXT and for $15 pack saves them some coin. Just because you or I...

    Favorite Twisted String-

@chic When you can pull the trigger, my .02 is get a used Babolat Star 5 or Sensor in great condition or a new Alpha Ghost 2. I wanted a used Star 5 but couldn't find one near me. You are still young (20-30s) so a stringer like that will last you a very long time. My Ghost paid for itself in...

    Favorite Twisted String-

I don't hybrid VCT 1.30 mm with anything and I never prestretch it. Hyoer G/ Head Hawk make a good combo but VCT works best as a full bed IMO. All four outer strings (strings next to the frame) gets the "knot" button which increases tension by 10%, since they don't have strings on both side...

    Favorite Twisted String-

VCT 1.25mm is literally like a different string than VCT 1.30mm. I have never seen a string behave so radically different for being .05mm thinner, so that is why I don't stock or recommend the 1.25mm version of VCT. VCT cost me $6 a full bed which is what I charge to my clients. It is $10 a...

    Favorite Twisted String-

@chic Most of these guys were 5.0 guys in college, not probably 5.0. They have found their way back to 4.5. You string your own frames which saves you money and allows you to try strings for the cost of strings and the opportunity cost of your time. Have your tried VCT 1.30mm? If not, how can...

    Favorite Twisted String-

@chic Unless you are 4.5+ rated USTA equivalent player who snaps 1.30mm poly quicker than a dozen plus other 4.5 men I string for, why not try VCT 1.30mm? At $9.99 a pack MSRP you can try it once for less than $10. I find it comical that these actual USTA rated 4.5 guys can play with a...

Ball Pocketing similar to Wilson NXT but longer lasting and cheaper

Tecnifibre NXT Tour 1.35mm 20 pack. But as a cross only, it doesn't come in reels and you are likely wasting 3 to 4' of string per frame strung.
