Jenson Brooksby wins 2 25k Futures crushing top 10 college guys. I love college tennis but at 390 ATP he's wasting his time going to school if he wants to be a pro. If he wants a college education, the experience and some fun fine but nothing good can happen for his tennis, look at Nakashima.
I think Jubb will go pro, he has nothing to come back for, not a team that can win it all, and not going to get his degree, and he has a big federation that can back him, if he has any good results this summer he'll go pro
I think it was a great year for Stanford. As usual they won nothing and competed for no titles but that's expected at this point. They did make it out of the round of 32 this year without losing at home and even put up a couple point against UV.
Here's to another great year next year, sweet 16...
Caught the singles portion waiting on my Gators. Ohio State was not very impressive outdoors. Kobelt must have a hard time playing 3 set matches as his line calls are awful. McNally is also bad. I didn't see the doubles but that most likely determined the match.
Went to the match last night, we pulled out a tight doubles and then played amazing in singles. Baylor looked deflated in singles. I think we will get a huge crowd tomorrow and we are clearly the favorites against Texas.
Erik Grevelius, 11.94 UTR. I agree I think she will be very good. Her UTR already ranks her as a top 10 female ITA player. She should be able to play top 2/3 on the ladies team.
Do the men have anyone good coming in?
One could argue that Georgia Men's Tennis has been the most underachieving team in the country the last 2 years. Is this a trend now? Will they be back next year? Only time will tell but it's fun not seeing the Bulldogs in danger on winning anything.
As a Gator fan I hate to admit this but I am worried about that. The loss to Tennessee at home in the SEC tournament was rough, and we haven't really accomplished anything under the Shelton watch. I don't give much acknowledgement to the Natty at GT, women's college tennis is a totally different...
I thought until the SEC tourney we were the team to beat but now I'm not so sure. I think your analysis is spot on, I just worry that under Shelton we haven't been very good in big matches and big moments. I sure hope that changes this time around.
I do love our draw though avoiding Wake, OSU...
