THIS is how you make people love tennis again

Blasphemy! Tennis is now boring? Heresy! How can tennis be boring when we have 4,236 rallies of 1,798 shots every match? People want sustained ball bashing. That is real tennis! Not the cissy big serve 2-volley stuff or God forbid, that all-court attacking rubbish!!!

2019 wimby was a huge setback for "next gen"

The way tennis is going, we'll probably see the finest clay court tennis played at Wimbledon in a few years ' time. And as for Roland Garros, we will have the greatest displays of dinglydonglypinglypongly ever seen in any era!

Double Server rare tactic to serve at the receiver’s partner to win point!

I know we actually won the point as it was the wrong guy who actually volleyed the serve before the ball hit the ground.

Double Server rare tactic to serve at the receiver’s partner to win point!

Ha ha it happened to me. My opponents were playing I-formation and I bunted the ball just over the net right at him. He was so surprised, he volleyed it for a winner while his partner was screaming at him to let it go. The guy was sporting enough to give us the point.

Should/will Berrettini be fined like Tomic?

Obviously Bernie's Brigade will be looking for any excuse or comparison while conveniently ignoring the difference between tanking and being rolled over by a tank.

    Wimbledon Highlights

I noticed something from watching the YouTube videos though, and that is the very few Screamerovas and Wailingcics around in the Women's section. Not many Cummeronas either...or is all that merely my imagination?

    Tennis truly has evolved.

Tennis has evolved? When it's all dinglydonglypinglypongly play? Sorry but I come from an era whensingle-handed and 2-handed baselines, sv-ers and allcourt players could be seen regularly on tour. Now, if you pixelated their faces, I bet nobody could tell who was whom.

Haase: "Practicing on grass is useless"

Is this an idjit meme? Professor X is a telepath - not a psychokinetic mutant...oh wait...sorry, I didn't notice the face. Yeah, I can understand why this meme guy can make a mistake like that now...

Ivanisevic: It means a great deal when Novak calls you

I am just glad that Novak has put on some muscle again, judging from the picture, and doesn't look like he's starving himself any more.

    Simon to win Wimbledon

I wonder if Simon would get more power if he relaxed his shoulders a bit more on the backhand. He looks as if he's tensing up his right shoulder a lot, especially.

Thank God the exciting tennis is back! Medvedev wins game in 29 seconds

Ha ha! Has anyone here done a Slam final ace VS g-stroke winner percentage comparison for the top 4 yet? Don't mind me but somehow g-stroke sounds better to me than groundies. Is that a Freudian slip?

Thank God the exciting tennis is back! Medvedev wins game in 29 seconds

I don't understand people complaining about "servebots" but still wanting more powerful racquets and strings. Seems kinda oxymoronic to me. Besides, serving aces is easiest on hardcourts - just bang the flattest serve as hard as you can. On grass, you actually have to learn to spin the ball...

    How to save tennis

Based on the way tennis has been developing to date, I would think that the best way to save it (from what I infer to be the reasoning of Those-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed) is to make 237-stroke rallies compulsory and end all games in two hours. If the game is unconcluded at the end of that time, the...

To those that don't like clay season

If I had my way, I'd let the USO keep the hardcourts and convert the AO to carpet so that we have a progression from slowest to fastest. Oh, and stir fried Brussels sprouts are delicious too!

The second best clay player ever!

I was just imagining if when Them and Nadal hugged at the net at the end of the match just now, if Rafa had whispered something and suddenly a huge smile broke out on Thiem's face. When asked why at the presser later, Thiem starts laughing his head off and answers, "He whispered 'I'm retiring...

Nadal is severely underrated at the net

Which part of my post did you not understand? The part about knowing when to come in to volley? And did anyone else see Nadal serve-volley in the final just now? That couldn't have been just my imagination, could it?

    Djokovic's awful net play

I am just glad Novak is not only adding a new dimension to his game (because that shows he still wants to win) but that he's also added some healthy muscle to his body as well. But Novak becoming an all court player...I can't imagine what that's going to do to all the dinglydonglypinglypongly...

Nadal is severely underrated at the net

I agree. Winning at the net isn't just about serve and volley though Nadal has shown that he can do that, too, even if not all that often. Half the net player's game is knowing when to come in, and in my opinion, Nadal does that better than even Fed. That's why Nadal wins such a high percentage...

    6 1/2 hours is ridiculous

Why is a 6-hr semifinal at Wimbledon dumb but a 6-hr game at AO a classic?

Great hope Halep - How far now?

Have you seen the way all too many WTA doubles matches are played nowadays? With the exception of the best pairs (that why they're the best and win) much of it seems to be a 4-player version of singles dinglydonglypinglypongly ball bashing to me. AND the men seem to be going the same way, too.
