Does taking the ball early affect consistency?

Its good to have the option to be able to take the ball on the raise to keep your position in court while staying pretty aggressive. I like to do it on high looping balls that lands at the end of no mans land to the baseline. I also like to do it when I go for an approach, take time away for the...

    Somdevv Devvarmann

Considering he won back to back NCAA single titles indicated that the kid got some talent and skills to go far... and thats exactly what he is doing now. College tennis definately have been stepping up knotches with international students raising the bar of standards... not saying they are...

What ntrp rating is this guy with a huge serve?

lol, my pro is top 5 for his age group in the world and hes doing 5.0 NTRP.. of course I have to keep his name classified > :) 4.5 and 5.0 league teams can be scary at sectionals... never been to 5.0 nationals but there some pretty darn sketchy players on there lol. Always rumors spreading...

    Advice for "Low Skidding Slice"

All advices are correct IF you are there to hit the ball. The trick is to read his motion, see the slice is coming... come up to the slice ball, and take it on the rise. Once the ball hits the court, its gonna slide a lil then dies.

college chances. can you help me out?

As people stated, the slicing has the be more aggressive and is overused... especially in some situations. 1-2 years is a long time, you can improve a lot. Youre a decent player, just need to perhaps be in some better compeition to know what you should and should not be. So my tip, play as many...

Are Futures tournaments a lot harder than the USTA Adult Open tournaments?

Never played in Futures, but I do know Adult Opens can varies on compeition. During summer and winter breaks, its especially filled with many talented and well recognized college players. And they are very capable of doing well in futures. So like someone stated, it really depends.

Just Got Smoked in First Mixed Match

It's okay, everyone gets smoked haha... unless you are between Federer and Nadal. Try to find some stuff she is good at... and find some stuff you are good at... and piece a strategy with it. You seem to be a good player, basing on your analysis.. so piece something together, make it work. If it...

Returning like Andy Murray: Moving starting far back, and moving forward?

I blame the person serving for the lack of concentration for one, and two for disrespect from the receiver lol

    r u sponsored???

I know some 3.5-4.0 players getting sponsored only because they got connections. Package deals and some free stuff... it really depends on finding "low" reps (depends on where you at) who are willing to take the risk in invest some gear in ya.

What is the best way to attack a kick serve?

I wouldnt recommend chipping back kickers unless your chippers are godly lol

    Dipping topspin shots

I tend not to take my racquet as back as i would with a regular baseline drive. And I usually hit as under the ball as much as I can and hit up on it as vertical as I can without shanking it lol. Best way to practice is warming up minitennis on the service line

    power 90 / p90x

I'm thinking about getting it for the summer and using it... or maybe winter break that is almost here! Would I need to buy equipment for it?

how to be more aggressive on serve returns?

What kind of weak serve is it? Slice... flat... lobby... kick? Anywayz, try to follow with it as an approach shot... this can vary in pace ( just dont make it too easy for your opponent ) and spin (if any). I tend to smack the ball flat on kickers and top it deep on slice.... and volley it...

How do I improve my reflexes?

    rate this guy

Volleys need some working... a little sloppy. Agree with solid strokes with great movements... obviously fit. Serves can vary in rating, I dont see the serve itself can force errors other than from his friend. Good return, but its only because the serve wasnt also doesnt force errors... but...

    what level are these strokes?

I think I posted there once or twice over a course of a year lol. Maybe we ( all posters of mid atlantics ) could all get together like a day or two and just hit around and whatever... at least its better than you going to town to town for each individual posters lol,, wouldnt be fair anywayz...

New serve videos :) Help needed

Definately need some worky on second serve... you should be following into the court like your first serves with the same or faster headspeed. Some more knee bend could def add more fludity that allows you to get that explosiveness into your shots and into the court. I couldnt tell where the...

Biggest factors that separate 4's from 4.5's from 5's from 5.5's 6's 6.5's and so on.

It's really hard for me to explain besides getting outplayed. Like, there is no single factor that would dominate 5.0s, 5.5+... but rather a mix factor.. fitness, mentality, game stragt. etc etc. I do lose badly score-wise against these higher caliber players, but I dont feel like I lost that...

How Generous Are You With Court Time?

just have those players waiting to play join with your hitting buds, at least thats what some of us do. we rotate, do king of the hill... its fast, can be compeitive, and is just being courteous.
