Stuck playing in a flex league I'm too good for.....

I had not previously played at a higher level, but I mistakenly joined the wrong level. It was my first time playing anything other than USTA or ALTA (atlanta league) and was not aware of the difference in NTRP. It you continue on the path you are this season, you'll be bumped up 2 levels in...

Stuck playing in a flex league I'm too good for.....

It's all about history. I took a two year hiatus from UT (broke wrist in car accident) and called them when I was ready to sign up again. They had no problem bumping me up 4 levels after they saw my history and listened to me plead my case. Have since been bumped up another level and trying...

    [3] V Azarenka vs. [4] M Sharapova - AO Women's Finals

Terrible match. At least it was over quickly. Congrats to the #1 shrieker though!! haha

Embracing a new era. China the 5th Grand Slam.

lol where did this come from? You sound bitter over something. You also could not be more wrong with your assumptions. There are more people taking up tennis now than before. I don't know if you really live on some island or not, but your local playing population is not representative of...

My first racquet took me 3.5 hours...

I guess it's obvious that you have nothing to worry about. It's kinda like going out there and snowboarding for your first time. It's kinda ridiculous - you fall every 30 seconds, you get bruised up, your legs and arms will be killing you in no time. But keep practicing and it will become...

The only way to stop the shrieking

So her opponents should start out the match shrieking. Establish a pattern early in the match and extend the shrieks each point until they are trailing off as Sharapova hits the ball. Unfortunately, Sharapova won't be bothered by this at all. She shrieks and she's played Azarenka enough to be...

    Tomic v Police... again.

Nope. I was a grand ahole when I was 19. Looking back, I wish I could say I was a good driver. But he's a stuck up teenager driving a fast, gaudy, doosh car. What does he expect the police to do? He's driving like a maniac and endangering other's lives.

Wow, the box is ripping on the screamers!

Now that's an idea, but I'd rather everyone rush the court and shriek in their ears. And I mean right up in their bizness.

Embracing a new era. China the 5th Grand Slam.

Terrible idea. China has no tennis tradition (as Bobby Jr. says) and is just now starting to take notice of tennis. And that was only because of Li Na's win. The other reasons that China should never have a GS have already been said.

    Radwanska: Screamers Shut Up!

Do not like Sharapova. Dislike her even more after those quotes. Radwanska is completely in the right for calling her out. Both Azarenka and Sharapova are unwatchable for me. If Sharapova wins this match, there's no way I can watch the final. Women's tennis.... ugh.

where to put lead tape to lower trajectory on ground strokes?

Ahh, well there ya go. We agree. All I wanted to point out was that you kept saying ALWAYS in all caps and that that's not always the case.

Softest and brightest tournament grade balls

Sounds good. I also hit a heavy ball with lots of spin and I play exclusively on hard courts, so I need the extra duty balls. I really like the Prince Tour hard court balls. They are my current go to and they are only $2.50 at my local shop. Wilson US cost substantially more.

Softest and brightest tournament grade balls

I must have used them a couple years ago. I'll have to give them another try based off your experience. He was talking about the Wilson US Opens in response to my reply.

Rafael Nadal (2) vs Tomas Berdych (7) Australian open QF 2012

Nadal wasn't trying to cheat. He saw the ball clearly out and thought it would be called out. Bad decision on his part to continue playing and not instantly challenge... but that happens in the heat of the moment. And I cannot recall a single match since the inception of hawkeye that has been...

how else are you supposed to get stability on a racquet? Sorry, as I wouldn't have the slightest idea.

Softest and brightest tournament grade balls

Interesting views in this thread. I'm quite the opposite with Penn and Wilson. The Pro Penn+ balls are the best I've ever used. They are lively and stay that way for longer than any other ball. The US Open Wilson's that I've played with are generally terrible. Maybe it's the humid climate...

where to put lead tape to lower trajectory on ground strokes?

lol why is it so hard for you to understand what we are saying? We are not idiots!! We know the difference between launch angle and spin, for the 2003034th time. You do realize that if you always try to hit with more spin, that eventually you will have to hit the ball so hard that your arms...

The Clear and Present Danger of Andy Murray

Yeah I took it to the extreme hehe. But I see an extra perk in Murray's step off the court. Pictures of the two together make it look like they are father and son bonding. I just hope he does well b/c he deserves it... and I'm not even a Murray fan.

The Clear and Present Danger of Andy Murray

It's impossible to say who will win at this point until they play. Everyone plays differently depending on their opponent, the conditions and the day. Quit the "loling" and scoffing at other posters and just go enjoy some awesome matches without ******** trash talk. At this point I'd be happy...

    Nishikori VS Tsonga 4th Round

Kimiko Date-Krumm As usual, Tsonga is all over the place. He'll have times where his concentration and footwork is top notch and he hits great shots. Then he'll have lapses in concentration and footwork, become lazy, and then miss strings of shots. Also, Nishikori is playing at a high...

where to put lead tape to lower trajectory on ground strokes?

hmmmm... that is definitely not true. There's a reason many players (including almost all pros) flatten out shots when they become more aggressive and try to hit winners. Look at Nadal - do you think he wants even more spin? His shots loop enough as is. He just added 3 grams to the tip of...

I find polos, and especially zippers, uncomfortable. You have to be careful with zippers to make sure they are protected from rubbing against the skin. Chaffing is no fun :/
