    What is cortex, really?

As mentioned, it's a bunch of marketing bologna that doesn't do anything at all. Wilson, however, produced a line of racquets several years back that actually had a piece of vibration dampening rubber/plastic in between the handle and throat. It worked, but wasn't popular. Babolat probably...

Recommend a poly to me, please?

Forgive me, but what is bhb7 an abbreviation for? I'm not that familiar with the current offerings. Edit: Nevermind, found it.

Recommend a poly to me, please?

Yes, I understand. But if someone isn't going to even read a post, then they can very easily not reply. Sorry. I didn't mean for that to be terribly rude, but it does get annoying with so many people on internet forums these days that just want to post something without either reading all of...

Racquets That Have "Jumped the Shark"?

I probably liked the ncode better than the hps 6.1. Babolats went downhill when they added "cortex". I highly doubt that it does anything other than annoy me when I spin the racquet in my hands while waiting for a serve.

Recommend a poly to me, please?

Maybe I should be more specific: I'm assuming that with two years' worth of market growth, Luxilon Alu isn't the dominant poly anymore. Is there any one string, or select few strings, that are currently considered top dog? I was hoping someone could narrow things down for me.

Recommend a poly to me, please?

I don't see where I mentioned arm issues anywhere. Never had any. And yeah, I already knew to string poly's lower. Luxilon recommended dropping tension 10% when they came on the market. I thought it was pretty obvious in my original post that I was acknowledging the change in the market...

Recommend a poly to me, please?

I have just gotten back playing tennis this summer after 2 year knee ordeal, and I'm interested in trying some new strings. Previously, I liked Luxilon Alu, but it always felt like crap after a couple weeks. I *think* I liked the yellow Babolat Hurricane, but can't remember for sure. And if...

    The 3 Gram Solution

I tried to make a Fischer mpro 98 my main stick for awhile. The racquet was great for groundies, but I couldn't find the groove on serve. Adding 4 grams at 3 and 9 really brought my serve around with the racquet, but the ground strokes I had enjoyed so much were no longer the same. I still...

Olympics 2012 Men's Singles Final: [1] Roger Federer vs [3] Andy Murray

Our basketball coach always told us that it was hard to beat a good time twice in a season, and he was right. Seems like two such similar matches in a short time is somewhat equatable. I don't see how Fed wins this match after investing so much today while Murray seemed to cruise. If I were...

How would you rather see Sharapova dealt with?

Nothing kinky, just the standard shock collar like people use to train their dogs to stop barking. It could even be pink and sparkly, if she liked.

How would you rather see Sharapova dealt with?

Serious question: Does anyone know if there were any major grunting/screaming offenders between Seles and Sharapova? I know Sharapova isn't the first offender, but she definitely seems to be the worst and it seems like this practice has really caught on since she came around.

How would you rather see Sharapova dealt with?

Yeah, basically. Does anyone even watch it other than when they show women's matches during Grand Slam or Olympic coverage?

How would you rather see Sharapova dealt with?

If I had it my way, she would have to STFU or deal with consequences. After a scream, should the punishment be: Lose the point Shock collar Chuck Norris roundhouse Or maybe we should just do the same thing some people have done to their dogs and snip her vocal cords. I personally vote...

    Babolat Fame Durability?

I played on old PD team, before cortex, for a year or so. It was the only racquet I have ever broken unintentionally. I'm thinking it may have slipped out of my hand on a serve. It's been so long that I can't remember exactly, just that it broke during the course of play and I was...

Dunlop Aerogel or Aerogel 4D for me?

Something else to consider on AG vs AG 4D: The AG200 has a thinner throat bridge than the rest of the frame. This is unique to the AG line, and I believe the 300, which I also liked, had the same feature. They went back to a constant thickness on the 4D series. Don't ask me why, but I...

Who is a Nole, Nadal, Fed or Murray fan and doesn't hate the others?

because he kept fed from winning the grand slam two years in a row... I am a fed fan, and dislike two of the other three.

Where Does Wimbledon Rank on your Favorite GS List?

distant 3rd Aus is always exciting because it's been half the winter since I got to see any tennis, and US is right up there because I know it will be half the winter before I get to see any more tennis. Wimbledon and RG are second tier for me.

Other 11.3 to 11.8 ounce Racquets I Should Consider?

If my memory serves me correctly, you have been searching for racquets in this weight range for the better part of a decade. This leads me to believe that finding the "perfect racquet" is truly a never ending quest... ;)

Anyone played with both Dunlop 200 Tour and Wilson 90's?

Thanks guys. I think maybe I wasn't so clear in my first post. My hope is that the 200 Tour can serve like a Wilson 90, which is my favorite serving racquet ever, while being more forgiving everywhere else. I can serve effectively with several racquets. But with the two Wilson 90's I have...

Anyone played with both Dunlop 200 Tour and Wilson 90's?

I demoed a Tour 90 back when they first came out, and noticed that my serve gained pace and accuracy without having to do anything different with my motion. It just seemed to be a very "natural" serving racquet for me, maybe even more so than a PD. I'm thinking the weight, and maybe to some...

Are this year's Slazenger balls rewarding big serving? First victim Berdych, now Rafa

Remember when Roger used to serve in the upper 130's? He seems to be content taking 10 mph off his first serves, since even before Nadal's rise to the top. Maybe going for bigger first serves could have helped him all this time??

TW Review: Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Tour

Thank you, Tpoc. That is just what I was wondering about. I apologize for not being up to date at all on this forum. I had to leave tennis for quite awhile after tearing an ACL and two meniscuses in a series of events. I am currently recovering from surgery, and would love to try a few new...

    Speaking a language fluently...

I know or have met a few people from other countries who were taught English at a young age or went to an English-speaking school as a child. Their English isn't quite the same as American English, even though they learned at a young age and have/had been living here for years. And the person I...
