    Moving your Legs

When playing in competitive tennis matches, do any of you feel that the first thing that moves when an opponent's shot approaches is your legs? I tried to improve my shots in many ways but recently realised that it isn't really my strokes but my hesitation at moving my legs to get into a...

How to explain to team captain that he won't be in the 1st team?

Hi All, I am the coach of a college tennis team in my country. The inter-college nationals are just around the corner. The problem I am facing now is that my team captain is expecting that I would field him in the first team. Unfortunately, I do not intend to do so. I will field him as a...

Prince Tennis Rakets simply have no FEEL

I think saying that a racket has 'NO FEEL' implies more objectivity than 'I DON'T LIKE THE FEEL'... cause if a racket has 'NO FEEL' teachnically speaking it should affect all or most people and thus more objective. If you say 'I DON'T LIKE THE FEEL' then it truly is subjective cause you are...

Prince Tennis Rakets simply have no FEEL

I do not know if you guys experienced this. I have played for more than 12 years and over the years I must have changed many rackets. Each time I play with a Prince stick, it always disappoints because there simply isn't any FEEL upon contact. Do you all have a similar experience with Prince...

RDS 001 mid and RDIS 100 mid

COmpletely agreed....... the RDiS in spite of its lighter swing weight is just as stable just that the control and feel is not as good as the RDS001. However, it makes up for this as it'smore forgiving... also equally stable.

RDS 001 mid and RDIS 100 mid

I just sold off two of my RDS001 Mid (2008 version). They are fantastic but the problems is my arms couldn't take the weight anymore. I have settled with the RDiS100 Mid now.

    Serve Supination vs. Pronation

Please do look at 5263's response to my posting. He is refering to exactly what I am doing... going solid spin but little power. And yes you are right, I hit the ball with the edge of my racket frame and carving the ball.

    Serve Supination vs. Pronation

Hi all, My friend is working on his serve pronation. It is because, quite clearly when you watch the Pros serve in slow motion, they almost always pronate. Pictures such as this one shows clear pronation http://adhd-tennis.org/images/pronation.jpg However, when I serve, to get the spin, I...

rds 001 mid or RDiS 100 mid?

Hi, I have 1 piece of RDS 001 Mid (2006 version), 2 pieces of RDS 001 Mid (2008 version) and 1 piece of RDiS 100 Mid. I find it very very difficult now to decide between the RDS 001 Mid (2008 version) and the RDiS 100 Mid. Firstly, the RDS001 has excellent stability and plow through...

Do you feel inadequate if your rackets or apparels do not match?

Totally agreed.... I earn my own money and I spend it on whatever I like to wear... How can that be 'spolied' given that I work hard for it?

    Hitting the ball Late

I see.... Well, today I played a match with a guy whom I lost 6-4 6-4 to previously..... Today I decided to take his balls on the descend and relatively late and I ended up beating him 6-1 6-0......... How come such a huge difference? Just 1 adjustment can make such a difference.

    Hitting the ball Late

I have played for more than 10 years... some competitive experience... Yes, I take the ball early during warm up rallies... I notice that I require only a short back swing and hardly much follow through when taking the ball early........ however during competitive games, I much prefer to take...

    Hitting the ball Late

I find that I am able to control the ball better when I hit the ball on its decend after it bounces.... quite late. This is contrary to conventional wishdom which advises people to hit the ball early. I use a flat eastern forehand grip and eastern backhand grip. Is there anyone that have the...

    Yonex Question

Hi, I've used a variety of Yonex sticks over the years and have become quite a fan of their rackets as I like the stiffness and squarish head shape of their frames. As long as you see the initials RD (e.g. RDX, RDS, Super RD Tour) the frame of the racket is flat surface.... If you see the...

    Yonex SHT-306 shoes

I have a new pair of Yonex SHT-306 shoes and got a shock when I put them on. The soles feel extremely stiff and hard, lacking the kind of comfort that Nike shoes provide. However, I believe they are extremely durable.... anyone has a similar experience with Yonex shoes?

    Slazenger rackets

decades ago, slazenger and dunlop were the leading racket brands. In fact, as long as you see tennis rackets, you see the Slazenger and Dunlop brand.... Do you find that it is very difficult to keep to one style of play?

I find it very difficult to maintain one style of hitting when playing competitively. For instance, when playing against my regular partner, I can simply focus on hitting the ball without thinking too much about my follow through. But when I play my other friend who uses heavy topspin, I need to...

Do you feel inadequate if your rackets or apparels do not match?

I have a terrible habit. I feel grossly inadequate on court if my apparels do not match. For instance, I need to be dressed in all Nike apparels from head to toe. If I wear Yonex shoes with my Nike apparels, I feel very inadequate...Likewise for my rackets and racket bag. I am using Yonex...

    Yonex QC questions

I recently also purchased the last few RDX 500 HD here in Singapore. I have yet to weigh my 2 RDX 500 HD but I find that as far as the balance and grip size is concerned, they are almost completely identical. I also use leather grips and Yonex are about the only sticks that have almost no...
