2019 WTA French Open - General Discussion

Oh the establishment is also 100% BS don't get me wrong. I just hate the idea that we're excusing her behaviors because 'she's gone through a lot', so to speak, even though it's clear as hell the 09 and 18 USO incidents were basically her own fault. I don't wanna derail the thread anymore so...

For sure. There's a lot of feisty players in the WTA. Probably needed this sort of mentality to take down Serena.

2019 WTA French Open - General Discussion

She is a champion, not a role model. The way she acts on court I cannot pull for her. Last year's USO was the final nail of the coffin for me. Also constantly saying this is a case of racism is BS because I don't see any hate for Osaka Stephens Keys Venus etc and you know it.

Also commentators acting like it's the shock of the century. But no, if a few more WTA players actually have a game plan she wouldn't have got anywhere near a slam QF last year

2019 WTA French Open - General Discussion

I'm just sick and tired of hearing commentators and just America in general fawning over her like she's an actual role model or something.

Also Serena's movement is so bloody atrocious just serve out wide every point and drop shot her.

Tsitsipas looks way too beatable. Honestly a Fedal semi would be much better than a Tsitsipas - Rafa or Stan - Rafa semi.

10 years ago today one of the biggest upsets in tennis occurred - Söderling beats Nadal

The Istomin upset is nowhere near as big of a magnitude here compared to Soderling. Novak had already shown signs of decline/non-interest in matches late 2016, and already had an early round upset with Querrey at Wimbledon. It certainly didn’t surprise me that he lost in early round that year, I...

100% last game this. Would be fair to stop at the end of the set or at parity 5-5.

Tsitsipas-Krajinovic most likely to finish when Krajinovic wins the set, or if he doesn't 4-4 or 5-5.

The bottom half of the draw gets 2 days rest between QF and SF (https://tickets.rolandgarros.com/en/schedule). So I think even if Fed ends up winning the QF taking 3 hours let's say, he should be fine physically for the SF as long as he doesn't injure himself.
