How did a 30 year old Canas beat prime Federer twice in the same year?

LOL. Funny now that both Canas and Federer are former players. FWIW about Nadal I do think he could win RG in his 40's if he kept playing and was decently healthy, but unfortunately he looks to be going the way of Federer. Extended absences without an actual retirement, but unable to recover...

    Most effective forehand

If you don’t overthink it there’s only one right answer to this question and I’ll give you 3 guesses who I’ll nominate next and the first 2 don’t count. Nadal’s FH has been amazing over his career to the tune of 14 RG titles and Djokovic’s is probably underrated tbh, but Federer’s is the best...

    "Mugcaraz, Alcamug, Another Overhyped NextGenner"

There are other reasons Alcaraz won today that having absolutely nothing to do with him refusing to "roll over and play dead."

    "Mugcaraz, Alcamug, Another Overhyped NextGenner"

So he won't be called a MUG until someone beats him again lol, but Djokovic is still his main competition, and he needs a dominant H2H, especially in big matches if he wants to win more slams. He's off to a good start, but he can't afford a slip up either. As for the other next gen, they don't...

    "Mugcaraz, Alcamug, Another Overhyped NextGenner"

The lack of glaring deficiencies is the big one. Every single young player since the Rao-Nishi Dimi gen has had some glaring issues. Raz probably won't win 20 majors, but he's the best young phenom since at least JMDP, and he has better movement than him so things look promising. Med won't hold...

    "Mugcaraz, Alcamug, Another Overhyped NextGenner"

I can understand wanting to give Alcaraz credit. Lord knows I was 100% wrong. I thought he was going down in 3 so really good on him, especially after the first. He did something every other young player in the last about 10 years has failed to do, but it really can't be ignored how bad Djokovic...

2007 Nadal vs 2023 Alcaraz at Wimbledon - who wins?

    Nadal crushes him. No contest.

Yeah true. Can’t lie I was worried after Tkachuk was stopped on the breakaway.

    NHL 21-22 Season

Ngl Jack Edwards is a major reason I can’t stand the Bruins. He’s such a disgraceful homer for the Bruins. It’s gross. Of course they’ve beaten the Leafs many times so that’s part of it but only a small part. I was never too surprised then (except 2013 lol) so I was never too disappointed. I’ve...

    NHL 21-22 Season

When the Panthers scored to tie it at 3 it just felt like the Panthers were meant to win. I’m not sure I believe in things like “sporting gods” and such but some stuff just makes me wonder. Tonight was one of those times, and the helmet catch was another. Or like when the Cubs won that epic gm 7.

    NHL 21-22 Season

I always said that whenever the Leafs won a playoff rd I really wouldn’t care what happened after. I don’t expect the Cup even though I hope, but now with this result I’m almost as happy as I was last night. Almost. Would be nice if Sea could beat the Avs just so we get a new champion, but I...

Also, to add to this they had a 1 goal lead twice in the 3rd in game 6 and lost game 5 in OT on a horrible turnover by the goalie.

    NHL 21-22 Season

Samsonov stole it for the Leafs. He was stellar most of the series and better than Vasy. That was the missing ingredient for the Leafs this year tbh, but the trade deadline pickups were important too. About time the Leafs had some luck though. Not sure they really deserved to win any of the...

    Super Bowl Sunday

Yeah, Nadal, Novak, tomayto tomahto. Same thing basically. I just phrased it that way because I wanted to make a tennis analogy, and mostly because I wanted to see if anyone would get their panties in a bunch about it lol. As for the game, I said a few posts ago that one call can never fully...

    NHL 21-22 Season

BOS is slumping lately as well. I always thought they were tough but beatable even when they looked unbeatable. The only difference in Boston this year so far is Ullmark and Swayman when he plays. Both guys are having great years but are mostly unproven in going on deep playoff runs. They have...

    Super Bowl Sunday

I don’t think the game should’ve been that close at the end anyway, so yeah even though the ref made sure of the final outcome, I also thought the Eagles should’ve put it away before that so they deserve some blame as well, as is the case in any team sport 99.9% of the time. And no I don’t...

Trust me I don’t get it sometimes either. They should just make a new handbook sometime and call it ref’s discretion. Would apply across all sports too. Like “Look, the Lightning are down 2-0 let’s give them 5 straight PP’s.”

    Super Bowl Sunday

By the letter of the law that actually was an incomplete pass. Trust me I know the rule is stupid, but that call was correct IMO because he never had time to make a “football move” as they say. He turned upfield with no time to make an actual move because he got smoked. But yes, he did have...

    Super Bowl Sunday

Awful way to end a SB, even as someone with no dog in the fight. Terrible penalty, and Mahomes wasn't injured as much as he made us believe with the grimaces and other exaggerations IMO. And the commentators sold it all game (and pregame) because Mahomes is basically the face of the league and...

    NFL 2021-2022

Looked like the Bengals would win about half way through the 4th, but all in all I thought the better team won, as hobbled as they were. Until Cincy can figure out how not to give KC a double digit lead at some point in every game they play, they’ll lose their fair share. They’re tough and...

    FIFA World Cup 2022

Nobody does, and that's one of the stupidest rules I've ever seen. Even more stupid than an elbow being a "handball." They have the best player on the team take it every time, instead of the guy who last touched the ball. Really dumb.

    FIFA World Cup 2022

I'll be the first to admit I never watch football/soccer whatever you call it, but that's an awful rule IMO. An elbow is not a hand. It's just....not. Like how is that a handball? Anyway, at least Argentina won, felt they deserved it tbh. Shame it ended on penalties though.
