    Muster-Agassi 94 French Open

You know I thought I would let this die off and I was even planning on letting bet go out the "winner" of this sissy internet slap fight but I guess he didn't really mean it when he said we'd take it off the board. But the fact he can't let it go compels me write on last post. First off...

    The best backhand ever?

Alright I have to check out footage of Rosewall and Laver. I can't picture their backhands in my head. It seems like all French players have nice one handed backhands. Maybe it's something in the water. If Phillippoussis hasn't been mentioned his one hander was a cannon. I don't...

    Muster-Agassi 94 French Open

That's pretty funny. I had forgotten Muster said they were trying to break his balls. Classic stuff. I remember on TV (I think right there on the court) after the loss he called them the Agassi fan club and said everyone knows they're not the nicest bunch or something to that effect...

Looks like we have yet another PT280/630 CLONE, Dunlop 4D 300 TOUR

I held an unstrung frame and it sure felt like it was already 11.3 oz.

This is my last post regarding our conversation on this thread which has become very popular lately (from 80 viewings to 440 in a very short amount of time). See Muster is popular. E-mail sent.

Why do all pros use a leather grip under their overgrip?

I think (but can't prove) that leather grips feel more consistent. When I changed my grips on my racquets from synthetic to leather they really felt identical where I always thought it's easy to stretch out a synthetic to varying degrees when wrapping them. I like the leather because it gives...

Will switching hurt my game? 200->fischer mpro

I went from the Aerogel 200 to the MG Prestige MP and it feels stiffer and offers a good punch. If you were getting free points of the 200 you'll do the same with the Prestige. 58 lbs sounds about right for the Prestige. Unfortunately I've never played the other frames so I couldn't...

How do I fix the cap on my K90?

In defense of the golf epoxy just a little bit is needed for a strong bond and heat will break the bond. Another cool thing about the epoxy is if you want to make a weight adjustment you can mix in lead or tungsten powder with the epoxy. I've never tried silicone. Does it have any give...

    APDC+ specs question

Structurally stringing your racquet at 65 should not do any damage to the frame but it could hurt your arm a bit. What string you use also makes a difference. If you were to string at 65 I would recommend a softer multifilament. If you're using a poly I would say stick with 62.

How do I fix the cap on my K90?

It's a two part epoxy that when mixed together forms an incredibly strong bond which can be broken only with a heat gun or hair dryer. It's used to hold the clubhead to the shaft and can withstand repeated swings of over 130 mph making contact with the ball for years and years. I should...

How do I fix the cap on my K90?

If you can get to a golf shop the five minute epoxy will keep your butt cap on until you decide to remove it yourself. I always take the staples out, and re-attach the buttcap using the five minute epoxy. You will never have another problem again.

    The best backhand ever?

I think Guga had the best one hander. I would have mentioned Federer but I can't go with someone who runs around their backhand. I was surprised when I noticed Muster virtually had no loop to his back hand. Seemed like he drew it back and down and muscled it which while effective you're right...

    black overgrip vs. white overgrip

On someone's recommendation I tried Yonex Supergrap back in 2001-2002 I think and all the shop had was white and I haven't looked back since. I'm sure all the colors play just fine.

Weird sound in my MG Prestige MP

I know other people don't think so but I found the Prestige to be much stiffer than the Aerogel 200 even with a lower string tension. I'm going to try a multifilament at a slightly lower tension myself.

Weird sound in my MG Prestige MP

I'm using Gamma TNT 17 at 62 lbs and it has been causing some arm pain. Previously I used the Dunlop 200 AG with TNT 17 at 65 lbs and the Fischer Pro One with the same at 67 lbs with no problems ever. I'm thinking of going with Technifibre NRG 17 at 58 next. I'm hoping the arm pain is due to...

    Muster-Agassi 94 French Open

Ah yes, you keep bringing up the same tired old article about Muster and that that is your proof to refute a point I never made. My only point has been that Muster and Agassi had a good relationship until Brad Gilbert became Agassi's coach. "Brad is not really a coach," Nick Bollettieri was...

Weird sound in my MG Prestige MP

I was playing yesterday with one of my new Prestige MPs and it made a weird buzzing sound whenever I hit full shot but not when I hit a slice. I was concerned it was a flaw in the frame but I had a rubber band in my bag so I tied it around the two main strings and the buzz was completely...

    Muster-Agassi 94 French Open

You win bet. I'm going to go back to playing right handed, sell off my Head MG Prestiges, stop dying my hair blonde, switch to a two handed backhand, eliminate topspin from my game, stop speaking with an Austrian accent and no longer cut my hair to imitate a receeding hairline. All because...

    Muster-Agassi 94 French Open

Yeah I'm thinking our posts were deleted due to your lack of originality. "You're an idiot" and "nice try troll" don't exactly spring from a fertile mind. All this over a throwaway comment about Brad Gilbert. Phil Mickelson was voted most hated by his peers and yet he is the most beloved...

What do you think about this? Fake or real

I say fake. It's my understanding Babolat racquets do not have that little tag attached by the plastic wire. I have never seen one on any Babolat I have purchased or looked at authorized resellers. It's kind of hard to tell but the grip looks like a crappy wrap job as well. I'd steer clear...

    Muster-Agassi 94 French Open

I thought Agassi would kill Andres Gomez (who in turn had just beat the hell out of Muster) but I had a feeling Courier was gonna win. He was a buzzsaw back then.

    Muster-Agassi 94 French Open

It was a joke about everything being Gilbert's fault. And I am well aware of the "facts". But if we're going to keep it factual maybe ignorant statements like the 100 Musterfanboys should be kept to a minimum? And the guys you mention as disliking Muster? Becker - Mr. Thoughtful who...

    Muster-Agassi 94 French Open

I agree with you but I remember all the complaining back then that there were too many clay courters who were ruining the French Open and that a top player would never win it again because they couldn't get by so many clay court specialists in the draw. I suppose things have to change sometime.

Grey Market - Unauthorized racquet discussion

For the companies it is far cheaper to have their products made in China knowing full well that trademarks and patents will be infringed, product stolen and the specs made into knock-offs and fakes then sold throughout the world than to have them made in America. Same thing with the golf...

    Am I just weird?

Rest assured you're not the only one who gives the new racquets a shot then retreats to the racquet type you're most familiar with. Intrigued by the Babolats I gave the PDC and APDC a shot and while they both had their strengths I ended up with the Head MG Prestige MP. Very rarely do I deviate...

You're having a bad day stringing when....

You string Mark Philippoussis racquet after one too many vicodins (I just had surgery) on an empty stomach. Fortunately it was for that underwater commercial and my crappy string job was never discovered.

    Adidas Racquets

Muster man indeed. I modeled my ground strokes after his (tried the serve too but it never worked out though I can still imitate it) and played Head Pro Tour 280's with the white finishing tape at the top of the grip (not knowing its true purpose at the time). I didn't have the money to get...

Did Ronald Leitgeb Hold Back Muster?

But he seemed to have no winning strategy against attacking or all court players even on clay. I was very surprised when he managed to beat Becker at Monte Carlo? I understand his need to play tennis on clay courts because of the accident but it seemed like he never developed a strategy for...

    Muster-Agassi 94 French Open

I wonder how Agassi and Muster think of each other now. There was a genuine respect between the two before Brad Gilbert became Agassi's coach and I believe he poisoned the relationship between the Muster and Agassi. He and Agassi's entourage showed no class at the US Open when Muster and...
