    Yonex patented the square head?

US patents protect for 17 years. Thus, it has likely expired. However, like Subaru and AWD, isometric has become an important part of Yonex brand identity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

NEW YONEX VCORE PRO 97 18x20!!! NEW PALLET TECH!!! releases 11/23/19

My daughter played the RDX500 HD in her college sophomore through senior years. As a sophomore she won over 20 matches in the team’s campaign that won an SEC title and ended the year 4 in the nation. I would say it’s an excellent frame for a serious ball striker. She strung at 65 lbs poly mains...

The real issue with the Serena/Ramos situation.....

Or, just let them use all kinds of crazy signals (like baseball) and then get them on camera. Interpreting that stuff would add another dimension to spectating!

    Serena Williams

Mama said to all the little girls playing tennis "smash your racquet" (passion). Mama said buy more Wilson racquets! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Serena Williams

Heaven forbid that Serena did anything wrong. The three ESPN commentators turned this entire incident into another display of sexism. The men players would not have been given a game penalty. They curse at the umpires all through a set and never get penalized. So here's my challenge - is that...

    New Angell K7!!!

My daughter won a HS state championship with a Pure Control Swirly (12.3 oz) That racquet would be too heavy for most high schoolers but her strokes are textbook. Heavy racquet = early preparation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wilson Hyper Hammer 6.3 or a Babolat

Mavsman is correct. The Pure Control "Swirly" is a legendary player's frame. While heavy (12.2 oz static weight and 6 to 7 pts head light) it was the most stable frame I ever played with. It was also highly rated by Racquet Research in protecting the shoulder and elbow. Sent from my iPhone...

You need to get down in the 40s with most poly's with the TC95s, even when hybridding with gut or multifilent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just put Babolat Xcel in the mains of one of my my TC95s. Double AR Viper poly in the crosses (18 ga. soft poly). 50 and 47 lbs respectively. Very sweet combo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you like the weight/balance of the racquet you can use Gorilla Glue. It foams up and excess can be trimmed off. The butt cap will be fused to the pallet. Getting it off may be a challenge but movement/creaking will cease. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    shorten a Pure Control +?

I made that cut to a Pure Control Swirly a few years ago and for some reason the racquet went extremely head light (I.e. The SW dropped dramatically). I can only surmise that the mass in the throat area moved toward the handle, making it go lighter. I think I tried lead in the head but could not...

Racquets similar to HPS 6.1.95 18x20

Why don't you build an Angell TC95 to those exact specs?

Try TF Razor Code 18 for a plush feel and an amazing amount of ball pocketing. it took some courage to drop tension below 45 lbs but the TC95 at this tension is the only racquet I have ever played that allows me to play 3 or 4 days in a row for 3 hours a day with no forearm pain.

    Angell TC95: 63 vs. 70 RA (stiffness)

I have played the TC95 in 63 and 70 flex (16x19) strung at 45 lb with TF Razor Code 18. The are very different feeling racquets. For me the 70 RA feels harsh and somewhat unforgiving. However, after several hours, no elbow issues! The 70 RA is more precise with better feel. Interestingly, I did...

    My "new" Angell

There are some things you will need when you take the two piece pallet off and cut the half inch off the core frame. First, you should have a balance device so you can match zero-in on the balance you'll want. Cutting length grime the butt normally creates a more head light balance. I believe...

what is the tension range and stringing Tc95, 16 by 19

Angell's TC95 can be strung from top down or from bottom up in two piece configuration. There are blocked holes where two strings cover T7 holes. The best way to deal with these is to use polyester as the cross string, cut the string to as sharp a point as possible and push it through the T7...

    Pure Contol + Swirly

Dave M - just a correction on your dates. Babolat was promoting the Pure Drive and Control in the late 90's in the USA also. My daughter got three of them in 1999 as a junior prospect. By 2001 the "Team Swirly" appeared with identical specs. Altogether we had seven of these frames and I...

First Impressions of the WILSON nCode Six-One Tour 90

K90 vs. nCode 90 Craig, I enjoyed your 2004 review of the nCode Tour 90. My experience parallels what you described almost exactly, particularly on serve. I have been weaning over to the nCode 90 from Babolat Pure Control Original (swirl) and have come to the conclusion that while the weight...
