Racquet Journey, what are the last 5 or so frames you’ve played with?

Had a period of testing pretty much every 97-100 sq inch player frame with decent flex 8 years or so ago. Always played better with thin beam old school racquets. So last 8 years I played Angell TC97 16x19 & picked up an Angel TC101 too, which shares the same boxed throat and very similar...

    Prince Phantom 100G

Much prefer the Prince Phantom 100p 16x18. Good at everything, great on arm & available with discount.

What type of string is Babolat RPM Soft?

Replaced Babolat Origin. I used it in a hybrid with a slick round poly for years (origin) full bed starts off well but either snaps or loses its play ability. Comfortable good tension maintenance & good power. Using it with tourna big hitter black as a cross or main.

    4.5 racket recommendation

Prince Phantom 16x18 100p is worth a hit. Has comfort, good power & plough, and pretty good control. Picked one up in UK heavily discounted & been hitting with it side by side with my usual Angell frames.

I really doubt anyone would tell any difference in play between 63 & 64RA if all else on Racquets were the same! maybe just in their mind.

Is Sir Andy Murray a better Tennis Player than Stefan Edberg & Mats Wilander ?

Murray far superior, winning all these titles whilst the greatest players of all time were in their prime like Djokovic , nadal, federer!! Even the likes of a prime Warwinka to contend with too. Not much love for Murray on here, seems people putting their dislike of someone’s personality ahead...

Not hit the React but looking at the specs I’d go with React. Found the TC100 too open returning on serves & prefer thinner beam to volley.

Definitely drop tension on the 95, found it way too went from 52 on TC97 & TC100 to 48 on TC95. Played horrible at same tension as other 2. Was a fair few years ago that I had one though V2 but remember string choice was limited & was a battle to find something suitable. Stability wise didn’t...

Had the same conversation myself some years back, always seemed a natural thing to do when they had more closed option on the TC95 & 97's. Especially now they have a better control of SW's on the TC line.

been waiting for years they only done paint jobs & TC101 with the TC line.

shame they never did a more closed TC100 was crying out for a bit of extra control that one.

i'd go with TC97 16x19. over the tc95 for an all court game. Better contol & lower launch than the TC95 16x19, better stability, both serve great. PU grips are fine.

I’d go with the 16x19, angel 18x20’s are pretty tight patterns & you would probably dump more forehands in the net with the 18x20 over the 16x19 which has noticeably higher trajectory. Just experiment with string gauge/profile if you feel the 16x19 is too lively.

I have a Red Head Youtek Prestige Mid plus in 18x20 pattern 320g unstrung, if you gave it an angel paint job you'd probably not notice it wasn't a TC97 18x20. I'd use these all day long if i could go back to my my 20's & 30's again, when i was a good athlete. Great control, touch & stability.

Always found it strange how there was an 18x20 option on the 95 & 97 & not a more control pattern for the 100. Liked the 100 but ball “sailed” on me too often.

positive review of the TC95 there. Just wondering if you have ever hit with the TC97? I mean side by side other than the throat they are pretty identical. Having hit with both extensively I can confirm other than higher launch on the TC95, crisper feel & less stability, for me there was no...

I had mixed results with the TC100, i actually turned away in disgust a few times in matches thinking i'd hit long only for the ball to dip in. Definately had a naturally higher launch angle & for me i just couldn't rally & build points like with my TC97, so tended to shorten points. Maybe the...

i didn't think there was much difference like for like between the 63 & 70RA's power wise, and even comfort wise it was marginal, i always found the 63 to feel Crisper than i had originally imagined they would be, i remember needing to string the 95 a few llbs lower than my 97's as they could...

i've been a TC97 16x19 user for many years, not been on here for a long time but have previously said that the tc95 16x19 doesnt hit harder than the TC97, like for like it has always been a myth & i say this after extensive testing, although must be said early 63RA TC95/100'ss had some crazy...

I'd discount the TC95 then, definately not lower powered (some people, not myself think it's more powerful than the tc97) good that you can quickly discount a frame though, i had a 2 year period of playing a bunch of 97/98 sq inch frames before i eventually bought a TC97 over 4 years ago & it...

Interesting, strange that you put power in Neutral & control in Likes!! you dont like to hit the ball hard & keep it in at the same time haha. Out of interest have you been hitting with the frame for like 40 hours or so & what string setup did you use?

had to string the tc95 a few lbs lower than my tc97's, played quite crisp so dropped tension to 48lbs & it was more comfortable & performed better.

For me the TC100 was crying out for an 18x20 option too. The 101 naturally swings faster, has more control (i really needed to rely on spin to control the TC100 found myself shortening my strokes at times) 101 has lower launch angle & better stability.

been playing some more with my TC101, I'm not sure how popular this release has been i find in my playing circle there appears to be a reluctance to play 100 square inch or larger, even with some quite average club players. Have a few playing 100sq inch head speeds with 18x20 patterns, but...

I needed a dead round poly strung under 50lbs with the TC95 16x19, or if you play a good standard the 18x20's a really sweet frame that doesnt really get enough time on here, i guess 95's & 18x20 are not so "fashionable" these days. TC97 16x19 is underrated too on here, though not a true box...
