    Rules for foot fault?

I've seen this, but.... http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=64402&highlight=foot+fault I'm not sure what "boundries" imply. Does that include "in the air"?

    Rules for foot fault?

Bottom line...Can I be in the air, but over the line before I hit the ball? If not, I need to retrain myself....

How do YOU decide on a racquet (the demo process) ?

Usually keep it for a week Start out by hitting casually with my Wife and kid's. I think the casual hitting takes all the stress and expectation out of making it perform at competition level, and makes for a nice "get to know ya" session. If I dig the racquest after that, I'll progress.

    Does anyone else do this..

I've noticed that I catch my wrist (fh follow through) with my left hand. Maybe catch is the wrong word, because it almost acts like a shock absorber. This is kinda hard to explain. I hit my fh and follow through about shoulder level, but just before my right hand gets to my left shoulder, I...

How to improve my 2h backhand?

Walls are great. Make sure they have a line accross them at proper net height. Take chalk and draw targets to hit (left, center, right). The only problem with wall hitting is that you can't tell the depth of the shot. Also, watch your pace. Keep it slow so you can check your form.

How to pin a S&V'er at the baseline?

Of course! For the life of me, I couldn't remember the term. Thanks!

    Jumping Forehand

The problem with jumping When both feet are off the ground you lose mobility. The pro's do it, but then again they are pro's. They certainly did not learn and hone their skills this way, but only added this technique when they reached a certain level of play. For the typ 3.0 - 4.0 player, I...

    help with my forehand..

I agree with Marius, and It sounds like your a arm only hitter, possibly with weight shifting backwards. Correct me if I'm wrong. A coach will teach you how to use your body and elongate your stroke to produce more power with less muscle power.

How to pin a S&V'er at the baseline?

Volley back the serve on my back hand, I've gotten fairly good at volleying (punch volley?) back the serve. This of course creates a low ball with back spin which stays low on the bounce (oponents knee level). When my form is right, the ball just rockets off my PD. Federer returns like this...

How do I beat a junkballer?

Play like it's a practice session unless it's a tourney. If you can get rid of the win at all cost mindset, which your opponent is counting on, you'll play more relaxed and create more winners. Even the pros blow it when they have to much time to think.

    extended - shoulder pain?

Maybe you're swinging harder... and faster with the reduced weight.

Out wide on the ad side

Do you ever notice how the pro's can drop the ball mid service box with pace. I've been able to pull this off a couple of times (pure happenstance). I've noticed when my legs are working really well at serve, my serve is hit flat, but the ball seems to dip at the last second. Man I wish I could...

How to deal with fast serve returns at my feet?

What did he do with your out wide serves? Did he jump on those also? How'bout into the body?

Bab Pro Drive. I dig it, but...

andfor - did you demo the PD? Not that I'm stuck on Bab's, but that will prob be my next demo.

Bab Pro Drive. I dig it, but...

the stiffness is rated at 70 (do I see pain in my future?). Compared to the Bab Pure Storm, this racquet does many things right for me. Decent power, decent control at net, good topspin. I like being able to "feel" the ball. With the Storm, it was so dampened that if I didn't see the ball...

Need: Pure Storm, but with more top spin

Had a chance to demo the Bab Pure Storm last night. I was up in the first set 6-1 and fell apart winning 6-5. Second set I lost 4-6. 1st Serves: With the PS was a breeze, great flat and slice wides. 2nd serves: Very hesitant. I couldn't get my kick to land in (long). Just couldn't muster the...

    wobbley racket

How's your vision? not kidding. If your watching the ball to impact and you're still framing (constently) then it might be your vision.

    How to force errors?

Work on placement work on strategy. Isn't it fun to watch Agasi stand in the middle of the court while his opponents run back and forth?

Been using a Dunlop Black Max

A Dunlop Muscle Weave 108, which is a cheapo discount racquet. I learned on this racquet, but have grown out of it. Very light and terrible at the net. You'll never find a link to the 108 so don't bother ;)

    really really really light racquet

I think they only sell it at Big 5 sporting goods. I've never seen one on the internet, not even on the Big 5 website.

Dunlop C Max 108 Muscle Weave x light. Can be bought at Big 5 sporting for about $60.00 bucks on sale.

Been using a Dunlop Black Max

I said relatively new... Started hitting around with my Son about 2 years ago. Took 3 lessons about a year ago, but try to learn from the tennis channel as much as possible. Just recently started playing "real" games within the past 6 months or so. Now I play with a couple 5.0's that...

Been using a Dunlop Black Max

Picked up a Bab Pure Storm Team to demo. Folks at the tennis shop rec'd the Pure Storm Team as a fairly close replacement to the Max, although the PS is a little lighter. They also rec'd the Wilson 95. The demo was out for the 95.

    Fitness: 20s vs 30s?

I can't recommend this enough... I'm 50 years old, 5' 10' @ 170 pounds and only picked up tennis within the last 2 years. I current play at a 4-4.5 level. Before that I trained in Muay Thai / Fillipino Escrima. I know that Tennis is prob your number 1 sport, but from a pure fitness point of...

Been using a Dunlop Black Max

which I pulled out when my current racquet strings broke. I've been hitting with this racq for about a week now, and I'm really begining to like it! Is there anything wrong with playing with this dinosaur of a racquet? Should I be ashamed on the court? If I were to look for a similar feel...

    so confused

It's just like Golf. Usually improvement reaches a plateau, then levels off for a spell. With each plateau improvement usually takes longer and is more detailed. Returning shots with pace on them is just the next plateau for you. The balls coming at you faster. Your have to see the ball...

    so confused

Have you ever taken lessons? I would think that if you were better at it, you would prob enjoy it more. Then again, maybe tennis is not for you. The good thing about golf is that you can actually be out of shape and still compete.

Is it ok to hurt all the time everywhere?

Are U insane? or do you want cronic pain for the rest of your life? I'm 50 years old, still play hard (tennis, martial arts), and have been "cronic" pain free my whole life. Why? because laying off when needed is just as much a part of fitness as being active. For me pain, is not a ego...
