    LOL: ridiculous/absurd post-match comments from your opponent(s)

I was watching a D2 womens match. Player 1 was your average player, player 2 was tall, blond, make up perfect, and absolutely gorgeous! After losing the first set, and getting down a break in the 2nd, player 1 screams at the top of her lungs " I can't believe I'm losing to a #$$%^ BARBIE DOLL".

What is it like to be very tall

Feet hang off the bed, clothes that fit are hard to find, head hits light fixtures, small cars are uncomfortable, everyone asks "did you play basketball", easy to spot in a crowd....

Do you think you could have been a pro?

Tennis? Probably not - just not freakishly athletic enough. HOWEVER, I do believe that introducing golf to someone at a very early age would give them a better shot at being a pro. Golf is basically hand eye coordination and muscle memory.

    "OPEN" ITA Events??

Not sure what the rules are, but I do know a neighbor of mine who is now a SR in high school and one of the top juniors in the south played the ITA event in Tuscaloosa this summer, and it was a 3 day event.

    It's the computer...

Sorry tater - still think system is seriously flawed. I'm for fair play. I will admit we had no idea how far out of level he was until he started rolling everyone all the way through nationals.

    Men's 4.0 Nationals

Tater, we thought the same thing. Something to do with full disclosure concerning the DC issue. My understanding is that he was actually bumped by committee to 6.0, not by the computer.

    Men's 4.0 Nationals

He did not play junior or college, or even high school - took up the game casually while in college, I think because his girlfriend liked to play. Just someone with a real aptitude for the game and did not start playing until he was in his early 20's. He was a legit 3.5 at one time. He had no...

    Men's 4.0 Nationals

Todd Meckes can play. Never seen anyone improve as much as him in just a few years. He was computer rated 3.5 just 3 years ago. Quick as a cat and plays smart. Doesn't try to do things beyond his ability like most people and patiently waits for the opportunity. Works out with Austin Powell...

    Men's 4.0 Nationals

He was only the 3rd or 4th best player on the team. The odd thing is that the computer had moved him down to 4.0 based on actual league results over the last 4 years. He self rated 5.0 when he got out of college and the computer moved him down twice. A team filed against him at sectional...

anyone ever heard of GOLDEN TEAM?

Not sure if it is the same, but Golden Team was a make up brand that a sporting goods buying syndicate developed to give their members an exclusive brand. There were GT items for everything from tennis racquets to baseballs and ski bindings.

Why do pros where two sets of socks?

I have been wearing double layer socks by WrightSock for a few weeks - they were recommended by a friend that is a runner. Like them better than anything else I've tried. Good cushion, good moisture wicking, nice fit.

    Donnay Sponsorship Details

I should have been more specific - I was really referring to a full (ie: free goods) sponsorship. As you stated, companies make some $$ on partial sponsorships and build brand awareness. As someone that has worked in the industry, I was always amazed by parents that thought their kids should...

    Courier using new Donnay

What does it matter?? If 2 different designers come up with 2 different Wilson frames, do they have no relationship? A company name is nothing more than writing on the wall. Companies change hands all the time. You might as well say the current Wilson product has no relation to the Wilson...

    Donnay Sponsorship Details

Sponsoring anyone other than a teaching pro that can directly impact retail purchases, or someone that can actually influence others to make purchases (only the very highest ranked juniors - top 5 section or top 25 national) is a complete waste of marketing resources.

    Clay Court Nationals

The player Vega lost to in the southerns was not your "average unseeded player", it was Austin Powell who was #1 in the south in the 16's and #13 nationally before had had 2 wrist surgeries and lost his ranking by missing 10 months last year. He is just getting his game back.
