Should ATG retire to preserve their aura?

In no particular order: At what point, does a tourney/slam become a "pet" tourney/slam? Why is it so important to define "peak" and "prime"? Why is it useful to pin down the definition of an ATG (all-time great)? Feel free to answer and/or add to the list. Please keep it non-partisan and civil.

I said it, do I need to make loaded questions to obfuscate my dislike for certain elements of Andy Murray's game? And the fact he is not an All time great? Why don't people stop massaging the areola and get to the pinching the nipple? IE Get to the point. It's not I dislike Murray personally...
