Do polys with good tension maintenance behave more like multis/gut in terms of going dead?

The common wisdom goes polys should be cut out after a few weeks tops, as they are completely dead, while multi/gut can stay in your racquet till they pop. However, with polys closer to multi/gut tension maintenance such as Luxilon 4G, Kirschbaum Max Power, Head Lynx Tour, etc., does this still...

Gut / poly hybrid - same tension or differential?

Hi all, What tension differential do you all recommend in a gut / poly hybrid setup? Most ATP players seem to string 2-4 lbs higher on the gut mains than the poly crosses, but they also switch to fresh strings before the poly loses much tension. I've been using a 2 lbs differential (mains...

Which poly to hybrid with natural gut?

I'm seriously considering trying natural gut again as the last time was when I was about 12 years old. I have no memory of the feel. The natural gut I would get is Babolat VS Touch 1.25 (which is apparently VS Team?) and get it strung on the mains in one of my VCORE 95 rackets. I usually have...

RPM Blast vs Hawk Touch for crosses with gut mains?

Also, how do you think the two compare against each other? Any feedback is appreciated! :)

Weaving Natural Gut and Poly Hybrids

When stringing hybrids of natural gut and poly there is a significant risk of the poly strings damaging the more delicate (and expensive) gut, particularly when the crosses are woven and pulled. Our friends at Guts and Glory Tennis recently posted a live Facebook video demonstrating how they...

Wilson Ultra Tour hybrid stringing and frame shape

Need your help here.... I have been experimenting with several string setups in my UT (18x20) and in order to determine tension for mains and crosses I have consulted tension adviser (http://www.stringway-nl.com/en/TAonline/calc.php). It recommends slightly higher tension in the crosses e.g...

    New Setup RF97A

I wanted to switch from my 90 BLX to a larger head size and I was wondering if this setup would be good: Racket: Wilson Prostaff 97 Autograph String: Full Bed KLIP Legend 16 Tension: 60lbs Overgrip: Yonex Super Grap I actually want to try the high power that comes from a full gut, if it's too...

    Wilson champions choice overpriced?

Wilson champions choice is $39.90, so for 2 racquets it’s $79.90. But if you buy the setup seperarely, it’s $41.95 for the Wilson gut and $17.95 for Luxilon Alu Power rough, which totals to $59.90 to string 2 racquets. So am I missing something or is it just corporate greed?

    Gut Kevlar Hybrid in OS

I've searched several older posts here but have been unable to get a good answer. I play with an 105" Dunlop 300G with a tight 18x20 pattern. My favorite hybrid setup right now is Klip Legend 17 (double coated) with a smooth poly in the crosses. I string the gut mains at 66lbs and string the...

Klip Legend Pro Tour Hybrid Stringset

Hi all, Has anyone ever used this in any gauge: https://www.klip.com.au/shopexd.asp?id=237 Hybrid set by Klip consisting of Natural Gut and their own Poly. I currently use Klip Legend Natural Gut 16 mains and Alu Power Rough 16 crosses and absolutely love it. I just noticed Klip have their...

    Poly Main/Gut Cross

I've heard so many great things about having a Gut main and a Poly cross, I mean even Fed uses it, but what about a Poly Main and a Gut Cross? How does that work?
