Hi everyone, so a little background on myself. I'm a high school senior in tennis. Junior year was my first year of tennis, but I had some experience before. I was able to take 2nd place in 2nd doubles in region to advance to state (lost in first round). I really want to play singles though, so...
Racquet grip sizes are generally l1,l2,etc namely 4-1/2 ,4-1/4, etc. But in tennis racquets there is an additional info before the grip size eg: 4 : 4-1/4, 2 : 4-1/4, etc. What is this 4 : , 2 : before the gripsize?
My mom and I were cleaning our attic and she was about to throw this away. I thought it looked rather good, so I got to keep it instead.
She bought it when she was about 14 years old (around 1980).
Do somebody now what kind of type this is? I found it looking rather "basic" and simple, but...
Hi all,
Does anyone know why Kerber's Yonex is mostly blacked out, and has been all year?
Closer inspection of some recent Getty images make it look like the racquet is painted in the dark matte navy blue of the Vcore Pro line, without any of the other graphics.
Any have some more info on...
The title says it, sorry for the long post, but I want to get out as much information off the bat, to help anybody willing to help me, thanks if you even read this I know it's a bit of a pain.
So to explain the title, I live in Serbia (better known as the land of the Novak) and since we are not...
Hi,
I live overseas, but will be visiting califiornia this summer. I'll have enough time to demo four racquets and then purchase, but unlikely to have enough time to do multiple iterations of demoing.
I would appreciate help with recommendations on which four racquets to demo.
I would like to...
Pretty quick one. I have been leaving my tennis racquet bag in the trunk of my car while I'm at work (parked at a train station) so I can zip to the courts right after. As the weather is starting to heat up, is there any adverse effects to doing this on my strings (and/or racquet)? Looking to...
Hi to all!
New here, was looking for some advice. I am a former player who plays rec tennis at the local club. Never really cared about the racquets that much, always played with a heavy player’s stick that suited me and today i still play with a 345gr strung racquet.

....And standardized balls for clay, grass and hard courts?

Background:
Over the years, there’s been a lot of discussion here regarding the direction of changes on the tennis tour.
Typically they fall into these broad categories...
Hi everyone, bit of background first:
Currently I play with a Yonex Ezone DR 100, weighs in at 341g with an overgrip with some blu-tak in the handle & a Head Graphene Radical Pro, weighs in at 342g. Both are strung with Luxilon ALU Power @ 52/53lbs.
I find that both are quite stiff...
Hello!
Looking for your help for a little side project. I was hoping with your knowledge you could help me make a list of the 20 most important, revolutionary or iconic racquets of the past 100 years. I don't have a vast knowledge on this stuff but eager to learn more with your input.
Thanks...
The Prince Warrior 100 (regular, no P, L, S etc.) is my current weapon of choice. I broke my other one recently and now I'm finding out all too late that it's gone off the market and it's not coming back. Does anyone know how the new one compares before I jump ship or start dumpster diving?*...
Hey everybody,
I'm looking to move from my 2015 Pure Drive (100 sq. in. headsize) to the Graphene XT Radical MP A (98 sq. in. headsize), and I'm wondering if there are any things I should know before doing so. Should I be concerned about the smaller headsize adjustment?
Hey everybody,
I've played with the Pure Drive 2015 for about 2 years now and I'm wondering if there are any similar or relatively better racquets you'd recommend? I'm a NTRP 4.5 player in high school.
I've heard good things about the Yonex Ezone DR 100 being similar to a Pure Drive, I demoed...
Hello,
As an individual that doesn't have a broad knowledge of tennis strings and how well it performs, I would require some recommendations as I struggle to find a string that suits my needs. I am a 3.0-3.5 player with a strong eastern forehand grip and a one handed backhand with short-medium...
Hey guys,
I'm a pretty high level college D1 player. I have been using the RF97 for the past two years getting decent results but I have recently realized that the weight is too much for me, causing me to have problems with maneuverability. I have now decided to switch to a slightly lighter...
Hello fellow tennis fans! So I have been interested in trying out some more Double AR strings, but unfortunately the selection here in the states seems slim to nil. Tennis Warehouse has some of them, but only one that I'm interested in trying. Double AR has some very attractive looking deals on...
Had visited Nadal's museum in Manacor/Mallorca/Spain and took a photo of Djokovic racquet. Couldn't help noticing the custom led tape on the Nole's racquet. It goes from between 2 and 3 o'clock and all the way to the 5 o'clock.
And the mains are definitely Babolat VS team 1.25/17.
A guy I string for brought me his Khamsin yesterday after popping a string. I last strung it June and it did not look like this ... lol ... at that time I recommended he get a new head guard, which was nearly worn away then, for me to install and put duct tape over it to protect the structure...
**I meant <$100, can't edit the title for some reason **
So a friend of mine is a borderline 3.5 player who wants to jump back into tennis after years of not playing.
He has flat strokes, baseline hitter. Finess net game, some spin on second serve.
The more I research for him the more I rack...
Hi all,
Does anyone know how graphics, logos, wording, etc etc are applied to racquets?
I plan on delving into custom painting racquets, but I want to be a step above the usual DIY racquet painter.
What methods are there of applying graphics, words, logos and all that?
Surely from the...
I was returned to tennis last year. I interesting about things which I'm doing in depth. I can't understand a lot of thing about racquet reviews because english isn't my main language, but other things I can't define for myself.
Power: I understand this. How I can to transfer my hitting energy...
Hi! I'm 23 years old, and I play with a semi western forehand and a single handed backhand. I play an aggressive baseline game, and love to go to the net when the opportunity presents himself. I hit more flat shots than I do topspin.
Ideally my racquet should be comfortable (plush, buttery feel...
Hey guys, I'm currently using the black Pro Staff 97LS. I'm looking to upgrade now to a, well a big boy racquet haha.
I'm looking for a heavier racquet with a similar feel that does all that the 97LS does, only better.
I'm 23 YO, and use an eastern single handed backhand, and a semi western...
You may have already heard that "Jelena Ostapenko hits a forehand harder than men's No.1 Andy Murray". Actually, Jelena has averaged 76mph during her first six wins in Roland Garros 2017 (including 245 winners) – 3mph faster than Andy!
I suppose that Murray eats equaly healthy food as...
