Denis Shapovalov has become the latest player to voice solidarity with Vasek Pospisil and the PTPA.

Denis Shapovalov spoke on the subject in a press conference following his second round victory over Ilya Ivashka at the Miami Masters.

‘I’m definitely on the side of the PTPA,’ Shapovalov told reporters. ‘I think we are not under-represented, but I think there [are] ways that we could be represented better,’ he continued.

Shapovalov has previously commented that he is looking to reduce his schedule this season to avoid the restrictions of tournament bubbles, while also stating that himself and others are finding playing on tour difficult in the current circumstances.

‘They just tell us to go play tennis,’ the Canadian said of the ATP. ‘In my opinion, it’s not right.

‘They shouldn’t, you know, talk to us like that if we’re partners.’

Shapovalov’s comments come days after fellow Canadian Vasek Pospisil succumbed to an on-court outburst of rage, seemingly resulting from a meeting with ATP chief Andrea Gaudenzi the previous day.

This Gaudenzi guy will not be around for long. The tournament owners will want to cut him loose to try to mollify the PTPA supporters.
