Kralingen and his bets are the main culprits.

He always says Djokovic gonna lose, imo he's a closet Djokovic fan who jinx anyone who can rival Djokovic. He hyped, Nadal then Carlos lol that they were lock for slams and even CYGs .

dont think its a good idea to bring up some posts in the past and and throw it in a face (see see), agree with tennispro here, we can do the same with anyone pretty easy but i dont think someone will like such behavior towards him

That's not the problem, problem is when past posts are bumped or get tagged even when those posts were obvious troll posts lol. It happened to me many times lol

Well Goran the 30 slam ship has sailed. The way he folded at Wimbledon this year and didn’t even show up here at USO doesn’t scream like another 4/5 slams. Hopefully he can grab one last next year and call it a day. Let’s see.

One more slam would give him 25 slams and 100 tournament wins, which would be the perfect time to retire. IMO, next year's AO would be his last chance to win another slam

I think Djoko is waiting for nadal to officially retire first since it’s been talked/teased for the last year or so. Yet he’s still playing in the laver cup and six kings slam….and hasn’t officially set any dates coming up other than the assumption “this is his last tourney”.

I think djokovic with the right amount of recovery and preparation can win another slam. French open qtrs , knee surgery, Wimbledon finalist and then back on clay to win the Olympic gold - I’m not shocked he lost early at USO.

The guys who played Olympics all struggled in Montreal and Cincinnati. Djoko didn’t play any hard court tennis after Paris.

If Novak wants to win AO - playing Vienna and Paris 500 and 1000 and maybe sitting out or not even qualifying for atp Turin may help him being 100% physically and mentally for Australia.

Who would have thought djokovic would go slamless in 2024 after a 3 slam year in 2023. But thats father time.
Every slam he will face this challenge now. But hes still good enough to manage 1-2 more slams

I will take that deal all day! Not quite sure what to make of his sloppy 2024 season and whether he has the focus or motivation to try and win more.

If Novak is committed and willing to put in the work, I will back him to win another slam even against Raz and Sinner. He is just different. But I don’t particularly think he has anything more to give here…and I am with you re:Rafa have been saying this for a while now… Once Rafa announces, Novak will follow.

I agree. I think even Indian wells this year he seemed more about the trip to paradise instead of the preparation and tennis.
I will be honest I didn’t think he’d do anything at Wimbledon and made the final.

I will also have to chalk up he just won the gold going back to clay surface. His mental and physical energy coming off thay high and what looked like several celebrations had to play a factor.

I’m with you I think he can muster up a slam. But I also think he’s tired from the grind + he’s done it all. Won everything there is to win several times in most cases.

30 will not happen. Yes, he's great and may stay at a high level but he will not be winning 6 more BO5 slams. But 25 is doable.

I always thought the 30 slams target was delusional, at this age your level can drop out of nowhere. Federer won 3 in a one-year period and never won one again. Nadal won 2 and was in the SF of the other with talks of CYGS and never won again.

I think Djokovic will be in a position to win one again, like Federer was in Wimbledon 2019, maybe he takes it and maybe he doesn't but he will have a shot.

I would not count out Djoker. But his problem is, that the fear factor is gone. Other players like Fritz, Tiafoe, Paul,, Ruud now will a foresee a valid chance in match. Until last year, Djoker had matches won before they started. It seems that the US guys of the second row have a sort of rernaissance, at least on home turf resp. hard court. I think, its more a question, who can challenge the top guys like Sinner and Alcaraz for the Nr. 1 spot, I have still some doubts about Zerev. It a bit now or never for him.

Cause I don’t think he’s winning ONE more much less 6.
Thanks for reminding us of those "impossible, Novak will never become the goat" years, when Fed was 16, Rafa 12... and the Goat 6...

Now, I think 30 looks impossible now, but another one or two, very possible, also because he did not play much this year, and made Mission Impossible: OG... very possible. Think he wants to have another big year, or two...

… I think we agree 30 isn’t happening

I predicted 30, but alas was wrong. May not even get to 25 now. Some young talent, with some belief that they can beat Novak. Will be tough sledding for the champ in 2025.

Guy wasted his talent in many ways - in 2015 I thought he would win a lot more Slams than he has.

Pre-2010 - never took any Western medicine for his respiratory issues
2012-2014 - Played passively and lost in many Slam finals as if that would be enough as it was in earlier rounds
2016-2018 - put off his elbow surgery for 2 years and wasted 2 years just after he peaked in 2015-16
2020 - Defaulted in a Slam where he was a strong favorite due to COVID rage
2022 - didn’t play two Slams due to not taking a vaccine - won 1 Slam that year while he won 3 each in 2021 and 2023.

He may be mentally strong on the court, but is mentally slow off the court!

Now that we all seem to agree Djokovic is close to the end of his career, he should be very happy with 25. Heck, that kind of number was unthinkable even in 2022.

Even if Sinner and Alcaraz retire today I am not sure Djokovic can reach 30.

With them on tour, probably 25 is the best he can get, that 1 extra Slam he can win next year provided he ups his level a bit by the AO. Bad news for him is that both Sinner and Alcaraz will be tested and ready for the first slam of the year. He will have to do the dirty work of beating at least 1 of them.

Craig Tiley will try his best to put Djokovic in the opposite half to Sinner+Alcaraz but nothing is a certainty.

Djokovic will need to channel all his determination and will power to win that 1 Slam.
