0-2 in Wimbledon finals

This thread is turning into a bit of a salt reserve.

So many of Djokovic’s fans are glory hunters. Never happy unless he is winning.

I wish they could appreciate how much the guy has fought over the last two months at RG and Wimbledon.

I’m no Djokovic fan but he has been really impressive these last two months. He could have complained about a lot of things but he didn’t. Apart from the fight he had with the crowd after one of the matches last week he has only been doing good actions on the court and fighting with the best sportsmanships possible all year.

They never got straight setted like Djokovic did. First time he faced a younger ellite opponent and he has no answers. Now suddenly age matters lmao
To Djokovic’s credit, there are only five guys who have straight-setted him in a major final.

Nadal & Federer (obvs), Medvedev, Murray and now Alcaraz.

Why is Fed not close to him on HC, LOL? That's ridiculous.
Nah, Fed is easily much closer to Djoker on HC than Djoker to Fed on grass given how much he won and the dominance he displayed. And didn't need to wait until his 30's to win most of his HC slams.

Nadal and Federer never achieved such pwnage against a player at their pet slam.

Easy with nolefans. This has to be hard to swallow.
Not really. Novak is 37, and had knee surgery a few weeks ago and has been in decline since the end of last year. While I was rooting Novak, I do like Carlos and accept the fact that Novak is probably never going to win another slam as father time has finally caught up with him. This seems to me to be similar to the Connors-Rosewall situation. In 1974 Rosewall, at 39.8 met Connors who was 23 in the Wimbledon and USO finals. Connors won both, easily as Ken just could not cope with Jimmy's game, though he was still capable of beating anyone else on a given day, despite his advanced age. The same seems to be true with Novak vs Alcaraz. Novak has now lost 2 Wimbledon finals to Carlos, due to the style of game Alcaraz plays and Novak being just past his prime. Novak has said that Carlos plays a game like no other player he has ever faced. The same was true with Rosewall vs Connors. Novak was a bit lucky in his FO win last year perhaps primarily due to Carlos's cramping. In his Cinci win over Carlos, which was very close, Carlos injured his hand or wrist which hurt his game in the final set, which I think contributed to his loss. Whatever, Novak has had an all-time great career and IMO should consider retiring in the near future and not hang around like Murray and Nadal only to further injure themselves while winning nothing important.
