0-2 in Wimbledon finals

These current players are so good that 37 year old Djokovic after knee surgery can casually reach a slam final.

That's why I'm not buying into Roddick's PC commentary.
Roddick isn’t talking about the players Novak faced to reach the final

Oh you mean the weakest gens ever who have won 2 slams between them and that's it?
You can ask Roddick for the specifics. He never said that every player today is better than he was. That was never his point. But he does think that players like Med are better

The point is that Roddick was to Fed almost what Monfils was to Novak
Monfils has never beaten Djokovic.

Roddick has beaten Federer 3 times in official matches, most famously in 2003 Montreal when Roddick won the Canadian Open-Cincinnati-US Open triple in 2003.

I get that. But if Novak had just won a slam against a player with a 21-3 h2h the forum would be full of “weak era” and “mug” comments

Which proves the point there was no serious competiton outside clay. As soon Nadal entered prime he made Fed his slam pigeon.
Nadal had the style back then to be an uniquely bad matchup for Federer, with the high intensity, the left-handedness and heavy topspin forehands high to Federer's backhand.

Just like Djokovic started amassing most of his numbers after 2013 when Nadal declined and Fed got old. And had many more easy years than Fed overall.

Again, 2006 was just 1 year, not an era.

I think this Alcaraz beats every Djokovic post 2018 pretty comfortably
What’s the need for this? no one has any clue. Today’s win was great for Carlos but Novak is 37 and just came out of a medical procedure. Prior versions of Novak would be much greater challenges

No matter how many excuses you come up with there’s no going around 24>20

No one has more Wimbledon titles, no one has more USO titles, and only one player has more AO titles than Federer.

And that's all in spite of not having the benefit of two lost generations of NextGens...players who were only able to win a combined two whole slams.

Novak started winning slams in 2008 and had his breakout year in 2011 when Nadal was 24/25

And that’s great. That’s why Fed is one of the Big 3.

But most of those titles were won against players like Phillppousis, Roddick, Soderling, Cilic and others like them

Yes, but 18/24 slams have been won after that. And he regressed in 2012-2014.
They all had slightly different paths but comparing by age by the year each turned 28 they were only 4 slams apart (which for the Big 3 is close to nothing) and by 32 they were all tied. By 34 Nadal and Djokovic were both 3 slams ahead of Fed

And at 27 Fed had 13 slams, Nadal also 13 and Djokovic 7.

What? Nadal made last win against Novak on hard in 2013! Last set actualy. Last win on grass against Novak in 2007.
Are we gonna ignore that he only won 1 slam per year in 2012-2014 while losing matches he should not have lost?

Fed also started owning Nadal after 2013, so not saying much.

How much more do you want Novak to win? He’s already at 24 slams. Are you saying he should be at 30 slams?
I am just asking why did it take so long for him to start comprehensively dominating if he was always too good. He achieved only his 2nd multi-slam year at 28.

Hey if Djokovic can boast a 3-0 finals record at Wimby vs Old erer, then how does it explain Baby Alcaraz being 2-0 vs prime Djokovic who has just reached 6 Wimbledon finals in a row.

Shoe, other foot. :)
Very simple. It's no longer prime Djokovic.

Sorry to tell you mate.

Please tell Andy Roddick that I said "Hi."

He dominated in 2011. After that he was at the top but not dominating for a couple of years. Then he dominated again, maybe the greatest dominance we have ever seen. Not sure how much more can be expected of a player

How many Fed won in 2012-2016 period?

LOL, he made wins by evading clay season and still has 8 wins less :D

Fed dominated for 4 straight years. Novak needed to wait 3 years to dominate again.

Fed has the record for most dominance ever in a span of multiple years I would think.
