I'm actually going to say Federer in 3, predicting a pretty similar match to their WTF encounter. Nadal's play has been pretty scratchy lately whereas Federer has been solid.

Hmmm, my head says this is 50/50, maybe even 55/45 in Nadals favour, but as a Federer fan I REALLY want him to win this.
It's up to Federer. If he sprays them long and has those periods in a match where he goes to sleep for 20 minutes, Nadal will run away with it. But if Fed can stay cool on the big points and serve well, then he can win it.

Better here than Monte Carlo, that's for sure.

What a shame nadal_slam_king isn't here to inform us all about their outdoor hardcourt H2H.

I'm guessing two tight but not quite sets from Fed but hey, prove me wrong <3

As most of the time in this matchup, it's all about the breakpoints. Whoever plays them better wins. Fed will need to serve well throughout the match and stay 100% of the time focused or else he's toast. Rafito just needs to show up.

Heart says Roger, reality says Ralph. But it's good to know that if Ralph were to lose, then we already know why.

Of course. We already know who the better player is. So if Roger wins it's fair to think that Rafa has some kind of injury/sickness.

Good, Nadal gets to tie their head to head on hard court again. Hopefully they play again on it soon after this win so he can go ahead.

I would like to remind the winner of the Stephen Edberg sportsmanship award about one little thing.

Yes, taking 30 seconds between points, getting coached illegally and unnecessary medical time outs are all CHEATING. The only reason Nadal is 14-8 against Federer is because he wasn't called out for his BS sooner. He cheated Federer out of numerous matches in the past too.

Cool story, bro.

I'm thrilled that this match is actually happening. Used to be common, but quickly became pretty rare. And, even with this match, I don't see Fed and Nadal ever going back to having as many matches as they used to. I'm betting Fed-Nadal matchups are still relatively rare events. So, I'll enjoy it while I can.

It's been so long. I'm really interested to see how it plays out.

Can't believe Nadal pulled a Sampras when he was down 0-40 in the third set and started ripping consecutive aces. Lol. Unreturnable or weak-return serves would be one thing, but actual aces?

Fed in 3, but that's more wishful thinking rather than my actual thoughts on the result.
Nadal in 3 if he's serving badly, which he probably will (shoulder is still bugging him it seems).

Otherwise, Borg in 5 sets.

I think the old ATP photos looked better, the lighting is really unflattering on Feds face and Rafas hair looks a mess :/
