Rafa needs to consolidate this break and not lame out with BH gems like that one.

Rafa has been belligerent in going to Nole's backhand but here he hits behind Djokovic, which is something he should look to be doing more from now on.

Why doesn't Rafa come to net more? Djoker's passing shots are average at best, most of the times he hits it cross court.

I have to agree with this. I don't consider Nole to have elite passing shots in a historical context. It's probably part of the reason why grass is his weakest surface.

Watching the TennisTV feed. Interesting that in the first set they flashed a statistic showing that Djokovic was taking the ball 20+ centimeters lower than Nadal's previous opponents had. The announcer in the booth interpreted this to mean that Nole was taking the ball that much earlier. But the guy, Sam, sitting courtside said it was because the clay was wet and Nadal's weren't kicking up like usual. I would guess that the guy in the booth is more of a Djokovic fan and that Sam, sitting court side, interpreted the stat correctly. Balls bounce lower on wet clay. I would think that the lower bounce was allowing Djokovic to step in and take the ball earlier, not the other way around.

Good match so far!

Funny to see Nadal avoiding the backhand grinding with top spin against Djokovic. He's rather play cross-court on the Serb forehand than trying to grind the backhand.

LOL. Kapow Kersplatt Kaboom forehand from the boss of Serbia.

Victoria Silvstedt in the crowd. I might be the only Swede who doesn't know what kind of purpose she has other than looking good.

Exactly what I said. Now that the sun is out the match has turned. Djokovic fans don't seem to understand...
