2-2 as of now.
Looks like it's going to be tight.
And the fans are roowwwwdy.
Anything about his blister?
Wonder whose serve will crack first?
I've noticed him look at his hand once. Hopefully it won't be an issue.
Is it me or Almagro's serve has been getting better in the last year?
I seriously wanna know what he did to the blister.
He always goes for it on the first serve...Maybe his % got better but I dunno. JJ is barely moving for a lot of em so far.
I think "Coach Juanqui" has been working him hard. I was down at that exho in Miami and I saw him running laps after his second round robin. I was like, "Who are you, pod-person, and what have you done with Nico?'
Their accent smells like they are emigrants or something. Probably local Polish descendants.
JJ just fired 4 aces and won his gem
Nico serving like a boss too.
He needs to. I think with all the crowd support, this is going to be tight to the end even if JJ doesn't move as well as Nico does.
Did you see the closeup on that blister job? It looks worrisome.
Brilliant point to deuce.
who has the blister? And that was a nice save by JJ
Wonder if those missed chances will bother Nico in the breaker.
Danggg, those hands.
Great save. He shows a lot of mental strength for being so new to these bigger matches.
Another terrible line call...I wonder if most of his outbursts before were justified
Will be interesting to see if Almagro can keep serving as well as he is.
1st set Almagro in the TB
That wind can't be good for a high toss, if this match is to be decided in tie breaks like this.
Almagro is winning 87% on firsts and 83 percent on seconds. Janowicz- 93% and 40%
Net game looks solid.
Average number of shots per game 2.7.
Some excellent serve and volley action too. I like this variety.
JJ with the blister. Looks like he's blowing on it a lot, but maybe that's normal for him, I'm not sure.
I didn't see that in Bercy.
Almagro serving exceptionally well.
Good eye on that last challenge from JJ. I think Hawkeye is a godsend. I enjoy some outbursts over iffy calls, but it's just so much simpler with the cut and dry challenge system.
Absolutely. Thank God this is on Showcourt 3.
Almagro is far from a clay court specialist. He plays well on these slow hard courts. The guy is a beast behind his first serve, explains why he's currently top 10.
Jurek applying some lotion on his right palm and fingers during changeover.
That's at least two dropshots Almagro has missed that I've seen. There is no purpose behind them.
Almagro's giving him plenty of second serves to look at this set. If he can't do something with them, it's not going to end well for him.
Almagro has a confident presence.
Oh, Oh. What's this? Trainer for Janowicz?
Uh oh, JJ calling for the trainer. Is it the blister or the announcers seems to think he pulled his groin? My stream quality has dropped so low I can barley see what's happening.
The entire hand is full of blisters on that closeup. "Are you having a snack right now?"
Blisters are a *****. Wrap the entire hand up!
This hand looks horrible.
Ugh. I hope he doesn't get the usual "gamesmanship" accusations. There's obviously a lot going on with that hand!
From whom? Morons? I wouldn't worry about them.
Janowicz playing like crap today. Groundstrokes not nearly as good as he is capable of.
Janowicz belongs in the top 10.
But not yet.
I haven't seen enough of him to know, but his return game has been dreadful really.
Ferrer, Almagro, Verdasco...give them time and the spanish topspin just takes over. Janowicz not solid enough from the back court.
Almagro is such a clown.....getting angry while he is up ahead.
7/6 7/6. What is Almagro whining about?
If he could play just a few percentage points better today he'd have at least one of these first two sets. He's got a long way to go, but I think he's got so much potential.
