10 and under WTF

Looks like in the PNW the new ten and under regulations caused the 10 and under to almost dissapear. Kids are being forced to play 12s if they want to play at all. Clubs are not willing to paint permanent lines and decieded it was easier to not have a 10 and under division. Looking ahead at the first half of the year there are only a select few tournaments. Then to top it off LA fitneess bought out Ballys and closed 17 indoor courts and over 30 tournaments for the year. It is very frustrating as a parent/coach to see how little oppurtunities there are for the kids now. Wondering if this is affecting the number of 10 and under tournaments otherplaces. Our 12 and under draws are going to be huge

There are plenty of 10 and under tournaments in the south. Although the south started this one year ago.

Start a group up in your area, and have matches with the kids in your area.

Forget the points earned.

I know it is hard and a pain, but that is tennis in the US.

Get use to be aggravated by the USTA.

Fun is just beginning.
