9. Dinara Safina falls outside the Top 10.
10. Andy Roddick becomes a father.

What do you guys think?

Prediction 1 - No,Roger will probably win one more major at least, though his exo match with Soderling really worried me a little.
Prediction 2 - Um,No. French Open yes,Wimby...somehow I want Roddick to win it this year
Prediction 3 - That will be a nightmare. No. I believe the Belgians and Williams sisters are still the favourites to win the AO. Sharapova could make a deep run though.
Prediction 4 - Yes. Looks possible to me. None of the women currently, except for Safina and Kuz are legitimate threats on clay, but none ever had the dominance on clay like Henin did.
Prediction 5 - In 2009 I would have thought a huge "NO",but now it kind of seems like something that may come true out of nowhere, like Murray's no.2 ranking. 50/50.
Prediction 6 - Uh oh,no. Venus is still very competitive, she still wants to win more majors. Even if the skill isn't there anymore, the fire inside her still is.
Prediction 7 - Really? Argentina doesn't seem like a very complete team to me at the moment. I think the fact that they had to rely on Delpo winning all his rubbers yet still lost still doesn't make them huge threats to Spain yet.
Prediction 8 - Yes. I mean,TBH to rise in the rankings she will not only have to perform at the US Open, the other majors and WTA tourneys count too. Yet remains to be seen if her USO run was a fluke or not, because after USO she lost in her qualifying matches for Beijing.
Prediction 9 - No. Safina will probably fall to the current position of Jankovic, but still remain a Top 10 player. The return of two Belgians to the tour doesn't mean she'll be squeezed out of the Top 10. On the whole, the current WTA Tour is still a very weak field so Safina should be able to finish the year in the Top 10 or at worst,Top 20.
Prediction 10 - Yes,come on Andy, even Hewitt is already a father of two kids!

Who is this clown? The only ones I see being true are 4, 9, and maybe 6. Hate to state the obvious...but this writer's obviously an overzealous Fed hater. To say both Nadal and Djokovic will surpass him next year...pure lunacy. There's no chance Djokovic finishes #1....Pure BS put together to generate controversy, I guess.

I disagree with #1,2, 3 and 5. I don't think any of those will happen. I also think that this guy gets a kick out of making audacious predictions.

I predict none of his predictions will come true.

Nadal will win FO and Wimbledon but Djokovic will be #1:confused:, did the ATP increase the points for winning the Belgrade open this year to 3000 or what?

8 is the most likely one imo. 2 is possible but not likely atm. Federer will be around and make it tough on the Mallorca resident. Others are mostly uninteresting. Novak no. 1 is possible as well, but very unlikely. Much rather would like to see him win a Slam.. RG for instance.

1. Roger Federer doesn’t win a major title.

Haha, funny...

2. Rafael Nadal wins the French Open and Wimbledon.

FO, yes, Wimbledon? Possibly I guess?

3. Maria Sharapova wins the Australian Open.

Doubt it.

4. Justine Henin wins the French Open, but not Wimbledon.

Can see that happening.

5. Novak Djokovic becomes the No. 1 player in the world.

Hahahaha, no.

6. Venus Williams doesn’t win a major, contemplates retirement.

Likely.

7. Argentina wins the Davis Cup.

3 players in the top 30, Spain has 6... can't see it happening. Quality of spains game is higher.

8. Melanie Oudin drops in the rankings.

I'd say the opposite, Ivanovic, V.Williams aren't on great form etc, can see her going up if anything.

9. Dinara Safina falls outside the Top 10.

How was she ever inside the Top 10?

10. Andy Roddick becomes a father.

oooh, why not.

The only predictions of the OP's I would even think to put any faith in are numbers 4, 6, 9 and maybe 8.

Fed winning 0 majors, sorry I don't think this is the year that will happen, I think he will slip a bit at the majors but not win any at all....I don't think so. I don't see Nadal doing the French wimby Double again, he may win one (likely the French), but I doubt he wins both. Sharapova win the Australian, sorry no. Her serve still seems shaky at best and unless she plays about 50 times better than she did at the US Open, she isn't winning the Aussie unless she gets a miracle draw. She is not ready to win another major, her game hasn't recovered enough. If she does, it will show how incomplete the tour is, unless she somehow comes back like she did in early 2008. Novak becoming number 1....NO. No chance of that unles Fed and Nadal both end up injured for quite a bit of the year, and you may as well put Murray and Roddick and a few other people out with them for that to happen because its not likely. Argentina doesn't right now have a complete enough team. Sure they are a threat, but Spain right now is the one to beat I think...its possible but not something I would feel safe betting on. Oudin dropping, well yes at some point she will but I think its way to early to even talk about her...she has promise and potential...but I can't really say. roddick becoming a dad...possible I guess...

2. Nadal won't win the French Open.
3. Djokovic finally beats Nadal on clay.

6. Federer and Nadal won't face each other on clay.
7. Roddick will beat Nadal in a Slam.

1. Roger Federer doesn’t win a major title.

-Possible, but unlikely. Federer is still gonig to be a great threat in all 4 majors this year.

2. Rafael Nadal wins the French Open and Wimbledon.

-Highly possible. Nadal's motivation is high and these are his best surfaces. After seeing his great form and him winning the exo tourney today, I have more confidence in him and he can carry on his momentum for the rest of the 2010.

3. Maria Sharapova wins the Australian Open.

-Possible. But I don't care much about WTA these days.

4. Justine Henin wins the French Open, but not Wimbledon.

-Can't make any comments on this until I see Henin play, I hope she will win Wimby this year though.

5. Novak Djokovic becomes the No. 1 player in the world.

-(year end number 1):Impossible unless someone shoots both Rafa and Fed in the knees. (number 1 for a short period):very highly unlikely..

6. Venus Williams doesn’t win a major, contemplates retirement.

-possible, retirement will be soon for her if not this year.

7. Argentina wins the Davis Cup.

-can't see this happening..

8. Melanie Oudin drops in the rankings.

-I don't care, but she seems to have great potential.

9. Dinara Safina falls outside the Top 10.

-probably not. Hopefully she will fortify her mental strength and make improvement to become a slam contender once again even at the presence of Henin and Clijster.

10. Andy Roddick becomes a father.

-:)

Sometime between February and May. Nadal and Fed would realistically have to lose a bunch of points at the Australian and Djoker would have to win it. He could become #1 for a least a short time if it happened. If his other predictions came threw, Nadal would no doubt take the #1 ranking by the summmer.

These are awful. #5 is the only one with a prayer except maybe DC.... Fed's not guarenteed to win a Slam but it's not something I'd bet against, which Rafa winning Wimbledon is...

I take this article with the same amount of salt that I take articles written in the newspaper. These people are just writers and journalists that offer some facts and mostly opions.

Anyways to my opinions.

1. Fed will win at least one major.
2. Nadal will not win both French and Wimbledon.
3. Sharapova will continue to shriek at all matches.:)
4. Henin will win at least one major.
5. Djokovic will continue to tread water at # 3.
6. Agreed and Serena will do the same.
7. Spain wins Davis cup.
8. Oudin agreement.
9. Dinara Safina will remain in the top 10.
10.Roddick will remain as the luckiest guy in a while. (Decker):)

He just seems very disingenuous. I don't like the way he acts out there, kinda snobbish almost. The stuff with his parents, coming in like he's hot s t, so to speak. He seems to be arrogant, to me. I just don't like his attitude.
I freakin hate it when he acts like a jackass on court. At WTF, when Soderling beat him, he was whining after losing almost every SINGLE god damn point! Even when Soderling hit all out winners on him. Annoying!

hes a bit arrogant, but i think hes a nice guy...

Yeah he's probably a nice guy in real life. I'd imagine he'd have to be nice to get the GF he has. But when it comes to his tennis, I cheer against him. There has to be a bad guy. Back in the day I cheered against Hewitt, now I cheer for him. I guess when Djokovic gets older and his ranking slips, I'll start rooting for him.

Let me get this straights. I mean, your posts are a bit enigmatic.

You are predicting Djokovic to go out in 4R of AO and USO. So, that's HOW WEAK the No.3 in 2007-2009 is according to you.

But you still believe that Federer played in a tough era, right?

Am I the only one who can spot a contradiction here?

That's like hating the homeless guy on the street because you think he killed your parents. seriously...? if you want to hate someone you should have more concrete reasons.

Oh, I see.

So, Djokovic is equal to Lendl, Becker and Edberg.

But, Murray, Delpo, Cilic and Monfils are even better than Lendl and Edberg!

I get your point now. Thanks for clarifying.

When did I say Djokovic was equal to Lendl and co? Quote me on that, or else, please be quiet. Now I think your efforts to turn this into an era debate have failed so far, so I'll ask you nicely, to please kindly p!ss off. okthxbye! :D

Retardedness to the max this author.
One of the most ridiculous for one, Djokovic getting them #1 spot. Sorry but since Rafa is so happened destined to win the FO and Wimby, then theres only enough points allocated for Djokovic to reach maybe #2, let alone #1. I guess assuming he wins the AO AND the USO. The only ones with a possibility of actually happening are 4,6,8,9.

Sorry for bothering you with logic, but

Djokovic seems to be comparable with Roddick, considering their ages. Now, JeMar apparently believes Lendl is not better than Roddick (they just play "different" tennis), and you never bothered to disagree with him, so I must conclude that you don't think that Lendl is much better than Djokovic either.

What exactly do you think about the whole Lendl vs Roddick thing? You never really gave us your opinion.

btw I like how you managed to build up a nice little reputation here. Basically you almost always agree with *******s , which gives you the respect of about 90% of forum members. And you also occasionally disagree with really ridiculous *******s (drak, BP) and that supposedly makes you an objective poster.

You obviously have very good people skills, very nice management abilities. I have to admire that, although I agree with NamRanger that you a disgusting poster.

My 10 predictions...

1-Caroline Wozniacki will be the number 1 player in the world.
2-Yanina Wickmayer will be number 2.
3-Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will loose more matches playing with Juan Martin Del Potro.
4-Juan Martin Del Potro will be the world number 1 player...
5-Novak Djokovic and Nicolai Davydenko will struggle to be number 2.
6-Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin will only win a couple of small tournaments each. The Big ones will be won alternatively by Serena Williams,Caroline Wozniacki,Yanina Wickmayer and Melanie Oudin...
7-It will be a year of major surprises and I predict that we could have also new faces winning tournaments...perhaps the victor will be in the level of Alize Cornet and Michelle de Brito...and in men some unknown player...
8-Roger Federer will announce his retirement at Masters tournament at the end of the season.
9-Hawkeye will be perfected and it will be used in EVERY tournament even the smallest one and in amateur tennis also...
10-Serena Williams will not insult any linesman anymore...she will behave at last...

OP you are quite clueless.

Fed - prolly 2 more slams, wimb and US.

Nadal - will win French... but in 2010 he will be put back to where he belong - clay courts only.... he has suffered too many bad beats on fast surfaces to be even considered a contender in wimb and US.

What do you guys think?

1. Roger Federer doesn’t win a major title.
Highly unlikely...
2. Rafael Nadal wins the French Open and Wimbledon.
french probably.....wimbledon hardly...
3. Maria Sharapova wins the Australian Open.
Very hardly
4. Justine Henin wins the French Open, but not Wimbledon.
Maybe...it's wta....anything can happen :D
5. Novak Djokovic becomes the No. 1 player in the world.
Just like Murray jumped to 2nd last year...it is conceivable that this could happen too....do the math jamesblakefan!.
"......The Serb could accomplish this without winning a major title, since he put in so-so performances in Australia, Paris and London last year (quarterfinals, third round and quarterfinals, respectively) and can gain lots of points at those tournaments. This is the case even if prediction No. 2 (Nadal wins the French Open and Wimbledon) comes true, provided Nadal doesn’t perform nearly as well at the Australian and U.S. Opens, where he has a lot of points to defend (winner and semifinal). "
6. Venus Williams doesn’t win a major, contemplates retirement.
Couldn't care less about this one.
7. Argentina wins the Davis Cup.
I agree with this one.....
8. Melanie Oudin drops in the rankings.
Drop form what rankings?!?!?
9. Dinara Safina falls outside the Top 10.
Marat's sister has the tools for this to come true :)
10. Andy Roddick becomes a father.
Good luck andy :D ...you will need the nerves of steel for this......
