10 years ago today one of the biggest upsets in tennis occurred - Söderling beats Nadal

This match was such a foregone conclusion that I'd gone out on a long dog walk and forgotten it was even being played that day. The match just wasn't in my mental schedule at all.

Soderling said that when he was being interviewed before the match he was being asked about Rafa's quarter final match. He said he realised at that moment he had to belive in his own chances because no one else would.

What always gets me when watching highlights of the match is that Soderling seems to have no awareness that he's doing something extraordinary. There's no point where he looks stressed or nervous.

Not the warmest handshake at the end either. Some people cast doubt on Nadal saying he wanted Federer to win the Final - no idea why after seeing that.
