12 o’clock support coming loose when tensioning first mains

Hi,

I string on a Gamma Progression st ii and have noticed sometimes when I put tension on the first mains when starting a racquet the 12 o’clock support becomes loose and the frame moves slightly away. Please see video for an example: https://youtube.com/shorts/KuwJ7x0Bw1E?feature=share

To stop this I tighten the 12 o’clock support more and it doesn’t come loose when pulling the first mains. https://youtube.com/shorts/b0mb5Ke7zYw?feature=share

I was told when learning to string to only have the 6 and 12 o’clock supports touching the frame and not over tighten so as not to stretch the frame. Is the 12 o’clock support coming loose just down to it not being tight enough?

Your 12/6 supports have to be in solid contact with the frame, so your solution is fine. What you do not want to do is have solid contact with the racquet AND move the towers outwards. Your frames may also have curved surfaces where they contact 12/6. If so look into 'load spreaders.'

It's normal when you pull the first string. DO NOT tighten after that.
