3 guys in top 500
Ayeni 433 Kentucky (transfer from Cornell-wonder why he didnt play for better tennis Ivy like Columbia, Harvard, or Dartmouth-really interesting that guy with top ranking is former Ivy leaguer)

Fery 473 Stanford
10 ranked 501-600
Inaki Montes 510 Virginia
Cassone 524 Ariz State
Toby Samuel 538 So Carolina
Kingsley 546 Ohio St
Monday 554 Tenn
Boulais 555 Ohio St
Andres Martin 579 GA Tech
Pinnington Jones 584 TCU (freshman)
Draxl 586 Kentucky
Trotter 596 Ohio State

3 guys at OSU, 2 @ Kentucky
5 Americans, 4 Brits, 2 Canadians

These 13 are also in the top 20 for UTR for D1 college players. Others in top 20 UTR not in ATP top 600: Basavareddy of Stanford, Spizzirri of Texas, Dostanic of USC, Garrett Johns of Duke, Cornut Chauvinc of FL State, Michael Zheng of Columbia, and Micah Braswell fo Texas.
11 of the top 20 for UTR are Americans. While overall, the ratio of internationals to Americans in D1 tennis if 60-65 to 35-40, it seems the US guys are doing better at the top tier as college tennis is recognized as a legit path to the pros. Thought I'd throw these ranings out as the early Jan list of ITA rankings will be close to meaningless as many of these guys played few or none ITA events this fall focusing on Futures and Challengers instead.

Will be interesting to see the Ohio State lineup. Trotter and Boulais have not done as well in college matches...as they have ...on the pro tour. If you look at pro rankings, JJ Tracy would play 4 for Ohio State.

Bernard and Anthrop should be very good down the lineup
Bernard is unfortunately limited by his stature. ATP Bio says 5’9 but I would disagree personally, my guess is 5’8. Check his stats & history, he’s been roughly around the same level for years now as he got into older divisions and people started hitting bigger, moving faster, and just being taller. Complete killer in the younger divisions, top class. I know he just won a 25k which was huge, but overall I don’t know how much growth he’s going to have gamewise, and not sure how he’s going to fair against the top, top college players, his second serve in particular is a huge liability. The harsh reality is that it takes a truly special player to maintain improvement with that size, Schwartzmans don’t grow on trees. He has actually made some good steps the past year, but it’s a game of diminishing returns. Basically I think Jack has better growth prospects

Of the two though, Bernard is way more talented and it’s not even close imo. The level he was at and the way he could play since he was young is frankly ridiculous; he’s been 12+ UTR since 2016, and about 13 since 2017. Legitimately world class level. Jack is more of an overachiever in terms of scrappiness, craftiness, and grit. It’s unlucky imo, because his brother who plays for Florida is decently sized. Super nice kid though, very hardworking and dedicated

Fery will also be limited by his height. He gets a ton of hype for looking outstanding against D1 players, but it’s simply too hard to compete as an undersized player against big servers who don’t miss.

Diego is a true rarity in today’s game, and his ranking has taken a beating in the past couple years. His peak was quite good but he’s never going to last as long as an Isner or Karlovic. And that’s a guy who’s about as good as you can get under 5’11”. Fery ain’t that, at least not yet.

Have yet to watch either of them play but hear you on size or lack thereof. Took a look at Bernard’s history on TRN and he seems to have been elite since the 12s. Interestingly he was duking it out with Martin Damm to be the top dog in the Class of ‘22 and then Damm’s height just took over. Would love to see Bernard make the leap despite the size disadvantage. There should be room for other body types than just 6 footers or taller
