I thought it would be interesting to do a little analysis of Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic at the 14 big tournaments (Grand Slams, Year End, and Tennis Masters Series) in a year.

Most won in calendar year
Federer - 8 (2006), Djokovic - 8, Nadal - 7

Most won in two consecutive years
Federer - 14, Djokovic - 13, Nadal - 10

Most won in three consecutive years
Federer - 21, Djokovic - 18, Nadal - 15,

Most won in four consecutive years
Federer - 27, Djokovic - 24, Nadal - 19

Most won in five consecutive years
Federer - 29, Djokovic 28 (includes 2015), Nadal - 22

Season winning 6 or more
Federer - 4, Nadal - 2, Djokovic - 2

Most won in 1st Half of season
Djokovic - 5

Most won in 2nd Half of season
Federer - 5

Won 3 titles in first and second half of season
Federer - 3, Nadal - 1, Djokovic - 2

Won 2 titles in first and second half of season
Federer - 6, Nadal - 4, Djokovic - 4

Funny how Federer barely edges the calendar year, two years and five years, but has a far more impressive margin in the three and four year records.

Djokovic getting a huge boost from Masters here.

Fed's getting his numbers the hard way.

Interesting that no one has come even close at 14

To much strain on the body if you've been winning a damn lot and playing tournament after tournament and winning majority of them. Fed for example withdrew from Hamburg (defending champ) along with Rafa after Rome marathon, and Paris in 2006.

Indeed. Yet soon after Djokovic beat Nadal at Monte Carlo some guy/gal was crazed enough to say that Djokovic would not lose another match THIS YEAR!

Lol, that was MN although I suspect it was said more out of frustration that Nole had just beaten his favourite player than anything else.

I really admire you. How come you never run out of inventing all this categories to compare stats. It's really cool and very creative.

After all those years of discussing stats to death, you still find interesting new topics :).

Can we really compare masters? In Fed's era they weren't mandatory and finals were bo5. So, I don't see how we can compare.
