16 Kyrgios free weeks

1. I find it interesting that it overlapped so perfectly with Nick having a shoulder injury and saying that he will not play till he is fully recovered
2. do I count correctly that the ban expires exactly at the start of Australian Open?
3. What is the point of 6 months probation, during which 4 months he is forbidden to play? he can't violate a code if he doesn't play, or can he? why not say that he has a 2 months probation period once he is allowed to play?

Wait so it’s a deferred suspension? So if he gets any code violations in the next 6 months then he will be banned, but if not then he is eligible to keep playing.

Isn’t this what they did following his blatent tanking in China a couple of years ago.

Why can some players say what they want, while others are suspended?

Why can't umpires have the balls to control matches? This is their job.
This is like when teachers takes pupils to the headmaster when they misbehave, instead of dealing with the problem themselves, and hereby gain the respect they so desperately demand.

Are you saying umpires are equivalent to teachers?

For what? Just because the media and some sanctimonious washed up pricks have clamored for it. The atp are a fking joke, just about everything kyrgios said was true.

The only thing he's done worth being punished over was when he threw his racquet out if the court.

Yeah my ass.
It's more like totally corrupt.

Wait for more than a month so that the moron collects his Laver Cup cheque and then don't even give him a suspension. Just a probation and if he violates the probation terms he will be suspended and fined.
And in that probation period the guy can sit out due to "injury".

Real totalitarian yeah lol.

Some of the conditions are ridiculous. Like making him see a behaviour specialist

If he plays Nadal in the next six months, Murphy would walk on broken glass top umpire it.

You poor little daisy. Of ALL the vile swear combinations and curses and insults imaginable, that's crossing the line? Is it even an insult?

It wouldnt even matter what it was he said, its just the fact the he said it. Don't doubt djokodal fans will be playing with their nipples in excitement over this, hoping he wont be at the AO.

anyway, he is behaving like richie rich on coke
nobody should tolerate this **** - even if its good for the show

he is not a tennis player but more a circus monkey
i mean..one day he behaves good and you think he has changed but then the next day he takes a **** directly on your head

does this man have parents?even tarzan would have better manners on the court than he does

i hate sterile players, and i like lively-fierce persons with charisma, but kyrgios is just a moron - im not sure tennis needs that
Hemorrhoids like this are half the problem with tennis.

No. He received "a probationary period of six months ..." and the suspension of 16 ATP weeks was postponed (deferred) until receiving a new Code Violation (during the probationary period of six months),
Thanks - but it's too late. I made the thread after reading an article in a newspaper saying he got 16 weeks suspension. I was too quick, and titles can't be edited (as you know).

Nick announced in twitter he’s not playing until Australia next year anyway, due to his injury. So yeah indeed 16 weeks Kygrios free

Funniest thing about this all? Kyrgios was right, the ATP is corrupt. Stalled the decision announcement so he could be at Laver Cup for the headlines and then keeps him after everything he's done. The ATP have proven that they are a joke.
as regards the laver cup: he couldn't have been banned from an exo, could he? but maybe you mean it would have looked bad for laver cup if a banned player played it ?
now, saying he might end his season early (once again), this time right after playing a lucrative exo, well... i guess it's because Xmas holidays start in september on the kyrgiosian calendar !

Apparently Laver Cup didn't necessarily have to follow the ruling but there was murmurs that they would.

if im reading correctly he can continue to play and even get code violations as long as they dont result in a fine...
not only that he can get away with fined violations depending on what his offense is..
for example breaking all of his racquets on the court or even tanking wont break his probation...
am i wrong?

The ATP is leveraging its power over Kyrgios, not to gratuitously punish or publicly humiliate him, but to attempt to help him overcome his behavioural issues, and learn to compete while dealing with events not going his way in a civilized manner. This is more than fair. Far, far more.

In other words, the ATP is still trying to fit him into their business model while shutting him down.

Wasn't a certain Mr Bill Babcock involved in publicly humiliating a professional player just recently? The current tennis authorities will step on the players, if they are of no more use to them.

If they wanted to step on Kyrgios, they could have excluded the 6 month trial period and its conditions and just followed through with the harsh punishments.

Soft ban in effect. ATP's half-butt attempt to make a discision on Nick, without making a discission. Everyone was expecting something more exmplary, at least after Laver Cup kept him around.

Or, milk the animal a few more rounds before shoving it out the shed. His spectacle value is still high but will rapidly wane once his athletic gifts taper off and his mental fragility gets more exaggerated.
