18x19 pattern Club - Djokovic, Medvedev, Agassi and...

Is this an H22 18x19 or a unique Blade Pro Stock 18x19?
I wish Wilson would sell this in their pro labs website
It’s a Blade pro stock based on KBlade mold from what I know.
Unique blade pro stock .

Another question for you Tan

I will need more hitting with the blade 18*19 but the iso 305 although less comfortable still seems more point and shoot and penetrating , slightly tighter pattern /string spacing etc ..

Do you add any lead to your 18*19 blade Tan ?

Which one do you prefer ?
I want to play it light but it feels disconnected between the throat and the hoop. I think have to go at least 330 SW to make it ok. Mine is 330g and 330 SW. Have tried one customized to around 340g and 340 SW and it plays really solid.

Thanks Tan what do you think string wise will play well in it apart from suggestions above and Tour bite soft .

String spacing is large for a 18*19 for sure

Was looking into yonex strike

I know ptp loses tension quickly but I found it plays better when it does so I am spoilt . Enough spin and more pocketing .

Strike doesn’t seem to do that and seems to go off and Tan mentioned arm issues potentially ..

Being so spoilt with ptp which lasts weeks and weeks after tension loss , don’t think there is an equivalent stuff string to put in blade 18*19 which will have the same long playability .

Thinking of trying vs touch 1.30 mains and Alu rough 1.30 cross ..

Not sure if that’s too much gauge for cross …
have you tried Gosen g tour 3? Supposed to be similar to PTP.. might order a reel to test it’s cheap

Recently Angell released the TC99 that is available from stock with specs unstrung below but you can build your own custom version by their website as well.

Headsize: 99 sq inch
Beam width: 21 mm
String pattern: 18x19
Weight: 300 grams / 10.6 oz
Balance: 325 mm / 6 pts HL
Length: 27 inch
Swing weight: 294
Stiffness: 64 RA
you are totally right! I believe it plays great :) tell us more :) However i would maybe prefer it to be the standard TC mold with this pattern. Is it your main frame now ?

Yeah, gradually I'm switching to the TC99 as that is the one we were waiting for years.

In order to compare with my Head Prestige Pro and Prince Phantom 100x 18x20 I had the TC99 strung with the same strings and similar tension. Immediately it was clear that the TC99 is much more powerful than the other two ones.

That's why I cut out the Tecnifibre Multifeel strings and I replaced it with MSV CoFocus 1.18 at 21/20 kg tension. Now the control is much better and I don't need to hold back my strokes anymore. Feel of the CoFocus is not bad either but not as nice as the TF Multifeel of course.

In short the TC99 plays like a more controlled TC100. It also feels comfortable and solid like all the Angell TC models with 64RA (unstrung).

Only the grip feels a bit different than what I'm used to. In the past I also played with the L3 grip shape B that felt perfect to me but this time it feels a bit smaller and more rectangular than I can recall from my previous Angells. Strange!

Meanwhile I replaced the Angell leather with a thicker grip (Prince Resitex Tour) that feels a tad better now but maybe I can order other grip pallets (in shape C or maybe even L4 shape B) from Angell?

Anyways I think you'll really love the TC99 as well!

I demoed an udersepc TF ISO 305 and liked 18x19 pattern. Thinking of switching to it.
How does ISO 305 compare to 2023 prestige MP for those played with both?

Got it, what racket that you have tested would be the most similar to the percept?
Not sure if he'd agree but i find the shift to be kind of similarly dampened but firm. Probably more control since both patterns of the shift are tighter and it's a 99 but similar power and feel.
I'd also throw the Whiteout 18x20 in there. Definitely more control as it's a 98 and 18x20 but similar firm but not stiff feel and also some power. This had better feel to me than the 100D or Shift.
I played it for 6 months but wanted more pocketing and a little more flex.

Got it, I might pull a small djoko move and just use my prestige mp and extend it .125 and see how that does first before I debate bring another racket

Why do you think you would prefer the standard TC mold over the React one?

TC seems a little more „classic” and React towards Ezone family when you look at the bridge? I could be totally wrong. TC95 was my main for so many years i just think the design is almost perfect. Tc100 included

What do you exactly mean? I see no difference at the bridges of the TC95 vs TC99.
Besides the TC99 has still a classic feel like the TC95 and TC100 that I played earlier as well.

To me it looks a bit more „curved” and lower part has this cut-out in the middle. Maybe the paintjob is making it look like that.
Again, nothing wrong with that. Just looks slightly different to me. Kinda pure aero vibes from the picture above. Hmm?
Or TC is same design ?

Is this the racquet? Why is it on sale???

Looks like it. Keep it mind posting offers outside TW is not allowed on this forum.
In 2025 I think we will have prestige update so maybe some shops are already planning ahead depending on how many frames they have in stock.
Prestige MP didnt get the love it deserves. I think I was the first one to say positive things about it. Now it is slowly catching the wave with TW bringing it to US market (previously only available in Europe)

Ok, I see.
You're right the throat and the lower part of the React and TC99 are different from the TC95 and TC100 (but you were talking about only the bridge initially).

Some more footage of prestige mp in action with both stock form and with leather. Here in comparison to whiteout 16x19 so totally different frame and intentions but also great on specific things. I can highly recommend prestige mp especially with a leather and strung low (so far my favourites were hawk touch and solinco tour bite soft 1.25). The other guy in the video is using prestige mp with hawk power and plans to try tecnifibre razor soft soon. Prestige MP and Prestige Pro are my biggest regrets of the tournament so far. I prefer the Prestige Pro swing style and connection but I had some issues with it on serves or when i tried to play a little bit dirty pushes :p so prestige MP is much better here but a 99” headsize with prestige DNA can lead to a slightly disconnected feel. I would have to play a bit more with customization to see how much it can improve but the overall playability is almost perfect for my game. Just string it low guys :)

I just checked the Speed Pro on TW, the djokovic endorsed racquet. It is 18x20. I know endorsements are to be taken lightly. But so Djokovic uses a 18x19 but Head produced a 18x20 instead? Whats the reason for this?
They just repainted the regular Speed MP and Pro in glossy Djoko style all black to sell some more rackets, but this has nothing to do with Djoko except the paint job and endorsement. Everything else is regular speed models inter black gloss. I heared the paint makes them feel a little softer, which was also observed with some other special paintjobs of other models, but Djoko does no play 100", 23mm beam, 18x20, 300g/310g, 16x19/18x20. His racket is different and they sell just the name with it.

Anyway, nice paintjob and good rackets, no matter what Djoko actually plays. But the whole approach is different to RF97 and Pure Aero Rafa Origin which are reall made to be close to the actual specs of Roger and Rafa.

Jakub Mensik joined the 18x19 club :) next gen player. From what I remember he was looking for a bit more comfort and „easier performance”

One string pattern to rule them all. Are 18x19 racquets the future of "closed pattern" tennis ?

- Djokovic beats Nadal in French Open 2021 semi-finals,
- currently #1 (Djokovic) and #2 (Medvedev) ATP are playing with 18x19 pattern rackets and it seems well deserved.

Easier spin and power with the same control? More comfort on top of that ? Yes please!

WE WANT TO SEE MORE 18x19 RACQUETS!!!! Many players (if not everyone) that are using 18x19 are ex 18x20 users.
This is 18x19 FAN CLUB !

Currently available to the public (any users here???) :
1. Tecnifibre Tfight ISO 305 18x19 (my review)
2. Head Auxetic 2.0 Prestige MP 18x19 (my review)
3. Yonex Percept 100D (my review)
4. Angell V5 TC95 18x19
TC95 should be TC99

Tough rounds for the 18x19 sticks at the AO 2025. Nishikori out, Medvedev out, Korda out. Mensik and Djokovic still in play :)

If weren't for Novak this club would not exists !!! :-D
Hehee true. Medvedev had his run though! Let’s see if he finds the way to jump back. In general I think Mensik and Korda have the potential to be on the top as well but something is holding them atm

Besides, the fact is NOBODY knows what racket specs he uses... total secret never revealed.
So the pattern may as well be inconsequential...

I agree. But only if Korda can stop getting injured so often - talent that won’t ever make the Jump. He gets hot, then injured.
Mensik is still young.

I think sinner should too. He’s adopted some medvedev and Novak tactics on court. Why not their string pattern?
If you can control the 16x19 then in general it’s the best option. It’s just hard sometimes if you don’t have the wrist for it. Sinner is using 1.30 strings and at very high tension (28 kg?) so he likes it hard :p 18x19 is for the 18x20 dinosaurs :p

18x19 comparison. Sorry Angell fans (I am one myself!). Tc99 hopefuly another time

Tfight 305s - all arounder
Tfight 305 iso - most pro in stock form
Prestige mp - confidence booster
Percept 100D - most aggressive

^ comparison chart at the end is helpful. An underspec Tfight 305 ISO is the best overall IMO and requires barely any modifications. And cannot beat its price. Not surprised it's the runner up.
