Thanks. I wondered if that’s what you meant but it seems tighter is less movement.
That’s interesting because when Ive tried low tensions strings definitely move more …even being out of parallel after shots.

The crosses being 2-3 LBs lower than the mains is the recommendation.

When swiatek drop her tensiin to22lbs in U.s she waa forever putting them in place. They don't move at 47-44 but tighter or higher tension moves less i would imagine so that seems wrong 2 me. Lowee should b more movement.

22?! That's insane

What does she typically string out.

I took my Clash down to 35 once when I was having elbow issues and I was always lining the strings back up too.

I think around 50. But balls were light and flying out 4 her at U.S open.Rather than change stroke u lower tension. At a certain point it stops snapping back & goes to control.
Mannarino plays with his racket at 22lbs as it's got good control. Kyle Edmund in Tv tennus commenrary said he though it made Mannarino's racket more powerful, which it doesn't. It's the opposite lesspowerfull & more controllable.

Probably 22kg. Not much info on her string setup online but a couple of places said 24kg so it makes sense she dropped to 22kg for that situation which makes sense.

Some people put strings back in place as a way of focussing on the tennis and away from the stress of the situation and location - try it yourself it really works.

Also Like most European Countries Poland uses the Metric System so it more likely her numbers will be quoted in kg and not lbs.

22lbs not kg

Apologies for a the wrong theory. Out of curiosity - do you have a online source that confirms that Swiatek used 22lb for her racket?
No but they said commentary at time. Because she was crying about balls flying long in U.s as they usea light ball... Mannarino playes with string at 22lbs. They said that last week on tv when he played Demon ( De Minaur)

It’s a bit counterintuitive, generally crosses start moving first so you want then tighter?! I tried using same tensions on mains and crosses (strung in 1 piece) and then 2 lbs tighter crosses. The racket was strung in 2 pieces/4 tieoffs. I didn’t notice much of a difference to be honest. Not worth the extra hassle of two extra ties. So it was 50/50 and 49/51 (M/C) so far with Tourna Silver 7 Tour on my Shift314. Gotta try 51/49 next, maybe it’ll perform better.

1 do one piece string job. Ion machine just pull 47 mains & 44 crosses. U don't have to do 2 piece job 2 do diff tensions.
Go lower 47 and 44. Yonex polytour drive 1.25 is great string for this racket. But i have 300g version .
A spin poly string plays best in shift.

I tried 48/48 and 47/49 with same Tourna Silver 7 Tour 1.25 string. It’s an awesome shaped stiffer poly string, looks great in Shift too. I string with 10% pre-stretch but still tension drops quite a bit after an hour of heavy hitting. Hence starting at 50lbs works better for my powerful shots. Then tension holds about the same until strings snap, after about 10 hours for me. The reel is only 80$, on affordable side. I doubt that stringing diff tensions on mains and crosses with one piece gonna hold up. You’ll start hitting and all tensions will balance up within a minute around the frame, you kinda need 2 piece stringing to have real diff tensions for M and C.

On the left is the Prototype version, on the right is the new Retail version. I don't see any differences that could be anything more than quality control differences.
I have been using the prototype since before the beginning of the year and have hit with the new retail version. There is a slight difference in balance that is very negligible in my opinion. I am looking forward to use the Shift in future tournament play!

Diff tensions in 1 piece hold up . U r clipping & pulling the poly at 44 in crosses so it will stretch 44. Pros do it diff tensiin in 1 piece . . I read online it holds up..
The mains i pull at 47 so stretch 2 47. . U r pulling on each string individually when u string racket.. And u also bend string as thread it & that also helps holds the tension also.. I don''t like 2 pre stretch string as strings play dead from start.. 47 mains 44 crosses is best 4 me. Yonex poly tour drive plays ace in 300g shift . Shift both versions i'd go spin string.

Shift 300g is so much fun to hit with. I don't get same enjoyment from others for some reason. I like shape ball makes in air. Suddenly drops on line when looking miles out on topspin.

Man, Wilson lack of proper QC is on display. 10 SW points difference between 2 (out of 3) new retail sticks o_O Hopefully heavier Shifts 315/Pro are not that bad. Currently have the Wilson Labs one underspec in static weight at 312g but with SW ~335. What if the new one arrives with SW ~345 and I wouldn't be able to swing it (efficiently and fast enough)? :X3:
I have two Wilson Labs 315g Shift's and their strung static weights were 341g and 339.5g, their balance was 31.5cm both. Their swingweights though... 320 and 335.

320 and 335, this is brutal! Wilson, you are SO Wilson. Hopefully, I'll be luckier and not that far off between Wilson Labs Shift 315 and the release Wilson Shift PRO ver. 1.0. Still no pre-orders at TW though, can't wait here :)

One thing that had me baffled beyond all belief. Why didn’t Wilson put the Wilson Labs Shift on sale with their “Red, White and Blue” sale to clear out for the production model!?! Do they have a whiter racket than the Shift!?!

Shift 315 is not even available anymore. Maybe everything is nearly sold-out for 300 WilsonLabs model as well?

Crosses are lower by 2-3 LBs.

It's all personal preferences. I agree with Tennis Euphoria
, watch from 6:30 min regarding the stringing. Then I used softer Head Lynx or Ice Code, I went 52 mains/54 crosses. He's using Shift315 with softer Lux Adrenaline. Now, I go with the stiffer Tourna Silver 7 Tour string and keep it at either 48/50 (M/C) for clay or 50/52 for hard courts.

The orange on the inside of the throat up by the bridge is 99 on one side and V1 on the other side. The text is inside of a small rectangle which is orange and the text is the color of the racquet. There is a small orange W on the side of the throat where the white Wilson is on the letter "l". There is an orange ;one at the top inside center of the head.
Disappointed to see them changing the black mirage/dot matrix Wilson script to white script. I thought that aspect was a nice design touch. Glad I got one of the WLabs version.

I have pics of the production models but this forum makes it entirely too difficult to upload them. I'm not paying for photo bucket just to upload a couple of pics. Is there a free easy way?

It looks pretty much the same as the Pro Labs model, some small orange accents but that’s pretty much it.

This.

I've hit multiple deep shots that my opponents have given up on .. expecting it to be long ... then my shot catches the base line.

It's so rewarding.

I've also found myself, without even thinking, going for some steeper angles, knowing the spin is there.

I just loving playing the Shift 300.

Totally wrong, 22 pounds provides Mannarino with power for his compact strokes, and Swiatek increased tension from 24 to 25 kilos, not pounds, at last year's US Open.

String will b slack there will b no snapback. It same as if u snap string tension becomes looser . U need 2 hit it harder with racket . So ur theory is wrong. They said pounds on t.v so sticking with what said in commentary but if u say there wrong it not suprise me.but i drop it lower for control..She was adjusting her strings alot because loose so if they tight why would she do this?. I think ur wrong.. U use body control 2 power rackets. Mannarino gets short angles .u can barely do that with launching power
Strings go slack at certain point u don't get elasticity it buckets the ball 4 spin. I string my own racket so i should know. It is deceptive.
Using longer strokes as opposed to compact not mean anything about power. Swiatek is compact. Power is provided by by body pressures. .U can power strlke of racket with barely moving hand & hit it hard.
Bruce lee could knock a man flying back into chair with 1 inch punch.U use all sorts of body pressure in shot .Tennus is similar. Same with boxing.

It is good to get your feedback regarding Mannarino string tension, see below for trampoline effect discussion. As per Iga Swiatek tension, kilos and pounds are easy to confuse and I have no tape of what I heard.

- the first review of the retail Shift 99 Pro that I’ve seen on YouTube.
Nice review, I would argue that only players with 2HBH can jump on Shift315 train. I hit pretty big topspin 1HBHs with it just fine, also slice is absolutely awesome with this stick. And I've never had such an awesome feel from the racket to hit drop shots from basically anywhere in the court (FH and BH).
Also seems the reviewer strung the frame really high with full poly at 56lbs (+10% pre-stretched) o_O
Still wondering when this release Wilson Shift 99 PRO Ver 1.0 gets on pre-sale at TW?!

He is hitting ball hard. Alot of body pressure & they r barely going over net with a powerful racket . Not alot understand it, even reviewers. He is using pure aero that is very powerful racket . He is putting alot of his own power in & ball not travelling high or far. They r wrong. If u string urself & try it. U will find it not powerful. It is lack of understanding on reviewers part. It just like stretching a rubber band . Catapult somthing in it. For very low barely pull it back. Item will not travel far. I think very high sting tension is stretched string at point & not snap back as racket is a board. It is only a small window were no spring back occurs in way u think, it around 47-53 on polys. So u can go very low or very high and u get control. Very high is stiff as board 4 control . Low is bucketing which is better. The reviewers r confused.
I will explain it. . If wiith elastic band,If u don't pull.it back. Then it as zero tension. According 2 their theory it would b powerfull. Now try catapult something . It goes nowhere. It is common sense. If u think about catapulting something in elastic band.
I have the same personal experience, 47-53 on polys providing max power, more or less tension less power but assumed it was just my feeling being off. Now that you as a stringer explain it this way, it makes sense!

Hi, excuse me if I miss any previous Information posted here, I think I read all messages and my doubt is about if I should wait to get the new V1 version or going for the prototype since some sellers in my area have it on sale. In Wilson web specifications are equal bit don't know if they have added something worth waiting for. Thanks in advance!

My understanding is that the Pro/315 is basically going to be the same, the regular 300 will have a slightly higher sw based on feedback (slightly more weight in the head). So if you want to get the Pro/315, you could get that right now and it wouldn't really be different; if regular 300, I'd wait for that as the Labs 300 was way to low in sw.

I sincerely doubt that Labs and regular 300 are any different. When players discovered that 300 is at 305sw, instead of 320sw, these retail frames were already on cargo ships in containers..

Marketing manipulators would obviously distribute the heaviest they had as the first batch, especially into the hands of youtubers.. But it's still likely a 305sw frame

Not way to low in sw imo, as I've only added 3g of tungsten + a tape protection at 12. Big dampener and overgrip.

Sorry, I guess it had more to do with the big variation in specs - some were just fine @ around 320sw strung, many came in at like 305sw strung. The one I tried was at 310sw and I added a little lead at 3 and 9 to get it to 320.
