this is just a guess, but alot of the indoor carpet surfaces were known as 'Boltex'....a fast but comfortable felt like surface. Havent seen any Boltex courts in some while.

Maybe Greenset or Supreme Court. They had laid at Frankfurt and later at Hannover an extremly fast carpet, to favor Becker and, to a lesser degree, Stich. I always thought, that this fast surface for the year end tournament of the ATP series was a bit unfair to baseliners like Muster or the Spaniards. I think, now at Shanghai they use a slower indoor court. I agree that in 1996 the rr match Becker-Sampras was maybe better than the final. And I recall a great final between Stich and Sampras in 1993, which Stich won in 4 sets against an inform Sampras.
