A bit of a background on myself - 4.0 player, have great command and can whip winners with my 1hbh strokes. However, I am always amazed what make the 2bh strokes so effective especially for players who plays with open stance on the bh side.

I have not plans of switching from playing the traditional 1BH stroke, but rather I wanted to incorporate the Borg’s bh stroke to add more versatility to my weapon.

Here's my observation based on this clip:

Borg's backhand -
Prep and set up using 2 handed, releasing 1 handed on ball contact.
Instead of holding the non-dominant hand on the throat of the frame. Borg set his non- dominant hand on the grip.

Advantage: The 2 bh prep allows you move to the ball quicker, switch grip to eastern bh (dominant hand); drop the racquet head low which enables you to hit with a close or open stance. Power then is generated from the back swing out and across the body.
One big disadvantage playing with the traditional 1 hbh is the difficulty of using the Open Stance on the bh side. With the Open stance you’ll be able to hit the ball more in front/ on the rise and even closer to your body which is great especially when you are on the run to your bh. (fast forward to 6.15)

Disadvantage: unable to hit with more flat and power with the bh. Ball is more loopy and slower because of the topspin – you’ll get kill by a stronger 2hbh player.

(no punt intended)
For 1bh players 3.5 and up: I wanted to hear from guys who are seasoned 1bh players(competitive players). Has anyone play using Borg's bh stroke ? Is it beneficial? What are the pro's and con?

Dis... you need 1/2 extra step each direction.
You need to rejudge your position from the ball constantly.
you will find one you like better than the other.
you still need the 1hb slice stroke
you need to learn one whole new technique, when that time might be better off spent on serves, returns, volleys, backhand overheads, or half volleys...

Fool around with it. Playing around with different strokes keeps tennis fun for me. I play with 2 hands but in practice I like to mess around with a 1 hander. A 1 hander is just a really relaxing shot to hit. If you've mastered one why not have fun learning the other?
