Yo Guys.
Here's my first video, i've taken others, didn't really bother to putt'em up.
This is me just practicing serves, and groundstrokes with a pretty not good player. He's old, so pretty much.

About Me:
Playing with the Pure Storm
2hbh just changed to it about 3 weeks ago?
I've been playing for about a little over 1 Year

BTW: I don't usually play with glasses. And i look crap and geeky in them :[
This is at 7 in the morning too.

Enjoy. Please critique anything from Serves to Ground Strokes.
Maybe footwork, but he hits pretty slow, or doesn't hit them so wasn't much moving i could do.

Enjoy again.

for serve throw the ball out more.
for your forehand it looks weird bc of your other arm
you still want to keep both arms at the same pace just in case they hit to your backhand.
also on your backhand you should step in more to get the power and depth.
still need to bend knees.
plac looks like a high school am i correct?

you footwork and balance is not there. you body is tumbling, your head is moving too much when you hit. none of your shots are able to drive through the ball, and transfer your weight onto it.

First thing I noticed is your left arm is very "floppy". It seems like it's always going all over the place, as if you have no control of it. On forehands, tuck it in towards your body as you rotate.

Also, when you serve, your left arm kinda hits you on the head. You toss the ball up, and then your arm bends and you hit yourself on your forehead. Keep your left arm extended longer.

i gotta agree with rookie, your balance is the biggest issue, you dont seem to have a solid footing on the ground

yoyoyo. cool cool.

Hmm. Actually never noticed my left hand thing on my forehand. Now that I'm sort of waving my racket here and there, I see that it really does flail around.
Definetely, work on that.

And the left arm, yea :[ I've been trying to figure that whole thing out. Sort of this weird habit I had, and yea.

And footwork and balance. Could I get just a bit more in-depth on that, i really wanna know exactly where I should work it out, and how my in-balance arrives.

btw: it's a elementary school.

I wish I had tennis court at my elementry school

yea live down in Socal. We seem to have a tennis court every park no matter how small, and tennis courts in EVERY school from Elementary to High School for more suburban and a little wealthier cities.

But Yea. More Critiques PLOX! :D

Your right leg kicks up and bends at the knee behind you right after you hit your serves for no reason. You should be pushing off of that leg so that your momentum is falling into the court. Right now, your balance is falling sideways instead of forward.

Serve -
1) you are tossing sideways and backwards because you are arching your back on the toss - toss straight up and then bend your knees/arch your back

also, you are not accelerating at contact - instead you look like you are slowing down. You can see that the racquet often stops soon after contact, so you are shortening the stroke. I think you need more of a wrist snap just prior to contact and to have a full follow through. As a reference, you should be finshing on the left side, below the knees.

Two handed backhand is good - If I was you, I would never hit your 1 handed backhand because it has all types of problems that need be fixed (the one at 50 sec. is aweful).

On the forehand, try to move foreward on the shot. It looks like you are falling to the side.

If we give you some more critique could you teach us that trick where you completely disappear for a split second and appear on another part of the court. Could be useful in the transition game - why do you only use it between points?

It's amazing nonetheless.

You back leg kicks up a little early. At contact, it is way more bent than it should be. Your legs should be relatively straight at contact.

Forehand, control your left arm better.
Look at Roger Federer's left hand ::

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmhvKafCYsk

Its bent through out, not straight.

Serves::
As you bring your racquet up, your legs should be bent
Your toss is too behind, bring it into the court a little more, I have issues with this also, so it was easy to spot. And because of this backwards toss, you are not going to get full extension.

Is there space when you grab your 2HBH between your right and left hands? There shuoldnt be, I thought I saw too much white grip on your videos. Maybe its the angle, who knows?

I thought pictures would go with the words a little more nicely.....

I like the split steps though, although... you do seem out of balance a lot =(, but you said the opponent hits slowly. Hm I dont get the logic there, maybe laziness? Ehh we all have that hehe.

Keep it up though, and consider yourself lucky for playing tennis right now. Its snowing where I live -_-.

Hmm Okay.

1. Toss: Definitely going to keep working on this. Been practicing inside my home. Damn this Socal Rain

2. The left arm, been shadow hitting to try to keep it controlled

3. Left leg, definitely will make some changes as soon as rain does down

4. 2hbh Grip: Uh? Shouldn't there be white between the hands? Considering that the hands are interlocked. And if anything I do use my RH more for the 2hbh, so the left hand is much more of a carry. Not sure though. I'll see.

5. Definitely was a bit lazy. The guy hits slowly, sometimes doesnt get it back, and worse It's 7am, and I had a tournament the day before. So definitely a bit lazy.
I'll try to get a follow-up this week or the next, depending on when this rain decides to leave me alone.

thanks guys. More Critiques if possible! :D
